Exclusive: CIA operators were
denied request for help during
Benghazi attack, sources say

Fox News, by Jennifer Griffin

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 10/26/2012 11:23:15 AM

Fox News has learned from sources who were on the ground in Benghazi that three urgent requests from the CIA annex for military back-up during the attack on the U.S. Consulate and subsequent attack nearly seven hours later were denied by officials in the CIA chain of command -- who also told the CIA operators to "stand down" rather than help the ambassador's team when shots were heard at approximately 9:40 p.m. in Benghazi on Sept. 11. Former Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were part of a small team who were at the CIA

Comments:
This will enrage you even more after reading this. 0bama should resign. He's a corrupt liar and a disgrace to this country. They all have blood on their hands.

They didn't have to die, they were murdered not only by the terrorists but also by those in this Administration.

WHY did he want the ambassador killed? And, when we have a rogue, corrupt potus, what happened to the other branches of government that were/are expected to keep him in line?

Repeated requests to engage that were denied, and these poloticians want us to believe they didn't know what was going on. Criminal Regime, hey Brian Williams, care to comment?

Just stop and think for a minute. Were it not for Fox News, all that we would think that we know at the moment is that a You Tube video caused a riot that spun out of control. Does it not chill ANYONE in the MSM that a man sits in jail because he made a video, and the Obama administration finds it convenient for him to be sitting in jail?

Throughout his entire administratiion one question I have had is "whose side is Obama on?"

I now know for sure. It is not that of the United States.

And why is that man still sitting in jail? Peopel..wake up... it could be you if you do something against this corrupt government currently in power in DC.

Vote like our freedom depends on it. Vote Romney/Ryan.

I can't imagine how these families feel. If my family were involved, they'd have to tie me up or something. I'd want revenge in the worst way.

Just saw Brett Baier interview with John McCain and he said there were NO units on alert status at the time. Meaning, that even though there were 2 previous attacks in April and June, an attempted assassination of the British Ambassador and the fact that it was a 9/11 anniversary there were no troops on alert status?!!

I want to know who issued the order to Stand Down? I want to know why there were 2 drones there sending back video but nothing was done to protect these Americans? Why were 2 drones dispatched and NO troops were on Alert Status.

The only thing that smells worse than this is the MSM cover-up. I seriously don't think the word Treason has meaning anymore.

Monday morning quarterbacking refers to questioning the plays that didn't work on Saturday and Sunday. In this case, the administration didn't even show up for the game. "Bumps in the road," "not optimal" -cliches don't cut it when people are dead and didn't have to be.

I can't remember where I heard this nasty little rumor, but I'll repeat it, as I've only seen it once before: Ambassador Stevens (and company?) was SUPPOSED to be kidnapped, to be held for exchange of high value Guantanamo prisioners. Obama would comply and look like a hero to get back our guy(s) and the Islamists would be appeased to get back some of theirs. O happy to accomodate his brethren. Things went horribly out of control.
Anyone else heard that? With this new info, the scenario seems ever more plausable.

Reply 15 - Posted by: altoona, 10/26/2012 11:53:59 AM     (No. 8964037)

Why,indeed, #4. It certainly has to be a consideration that Stevens was targeted and set up.

I can imagine the discussion in the middle of this with Valerie Jarret, Axlerod, and Mrs. Clinton, with Obama just kind of hanging around.

“Looks bad, do you think they have a chance?” “I dunno, I guess we’ll see tomorrow.” “Should we mobilize forces to the area?” “No, too close to the election, we’re counting on being able to accuse Romney of being a war monger who will get us into another war. Even our press buddies couldn’t keep this bottled up if we send in military support.” “What will we say if we get the worst case?” “We’ll think of something. I’m going to bed.”

As of 4 minutes ago, only Fox has reported ANYTHING about this event. Only CBS reported that (paraphrased) "forces could not be assembled..." or somesuch garbage. Anyone not on Fox knows nothing of this story. I daresay no one who watches MTV even knows where Libya is. Crickets only on the MSM...

Woods and Doherty deserve the MOH just as did Shughart and Gordon in Somalia. There is nothing that can be considered more "active duty" than what they did - no matter who was paying them. They went to the sound of the guns to save fellow Americans.

I've been wondering what info would come out when those Americans who were safely evacuated from the compound started talking. They were eye-witnesses to real-time events and it appears that their stories are finally coming out. Keep talking !

#14, I saw that also. The site I saw it on was a bit of a nutjob site (that is they seemed to be ready to lend credibility to ideas that were off the deep end), that made me look at it somewhat skeptically. This makes me wonder if there might not be something to their story in this case. It wouldn't be the first time that someone leaked something to nutjobs so that when information got out from more credible sources no one would believe it.

I, just a plain conservative dummy with an evil mind, present this scenario just after this happened so Zero (the Won) could have his Carter Hostage moment, except with better results.

Later, articles also came out saying plans and preps were made for transfer of American hostages for the blind Sheik. All this sounds plausible as more info is being released.

What role did Petraus play as head of the CIA--was he one who told the Seals to stand down? He sure has been quiet in this matter.

Since the country generally rallies around the President in a time of war, I was at a loss to understand Obama's ludicrous attempt to explain away the Benghazi terrorist attack as merely a spontaneous protest against an obscure YouTube video. After all, this is the President whose motto is "Never let a crisis go to waste."

Now it is becoming clear. Obama watched the terrorist attack unfold in real time and was paralyzed. All he could think about was Jimmy Carter and how the Iran rescue debacle probably cost him his re-election.

After it was over, Obama was terrified that word would get out that he had done nothing to stop a terrorist attack or to rescue the Americans during the attack. That is the reason for the weeks long attempt claim that this was merely a spontaneous protest and not a terrorist attack.

At least Jimmy Carter attempted a rescue. Barry Obama only attempted a cover-up.

Reply 27 - Posted by: Marcus Tullius, 10/26/2012 12:11:09 PM     (No. 8964111)

This information roll-out by folks in the know is making this whole thing worse by the minute. CIA told to stand-down. Air Force told to stand down. SoF and Delta Team told to stand down. Men told to fight to the death because the "President" needed his beauty rest before heading to Vegas.! BETRAYAL!!!!! TRAITORS!!!! MAY THEY NEVER KNOW ANY PEACE!!!!!

My God. 20,000 shoulder-fired anti-aircraft missiles missing in Libya and on their way to who knows where. 20,000. That's one for every person in the lower decks at any big-time Stadium. 20,000. How many commercial airliners are at risk, right now, today, because Odumma thought it was a good idea to create chaos in Libya? Answer: 20,000.

Off the wall question... Was the CIA team that died too close to the truth about that? Hundreds of known terrorists have been logged in as actual, physical White House visitors on official business with this administration. The Muslim Brotherhood are bro's with this "President." Did Odumma perhaps go to bed hoping these guys would buy it? Was the "spontaneous protest" excuse dreamed up as cover?

Like I said... off the wall questions. But no matter how speculative that was, the most important real question remains unanswered: Where are the missiles, O'Bambi? Where are the 20,000 missiles?

OP should have posted a warning with this one! Took two cig breaks just to try and read it! Got the same reaction reading this as watching the horror of the first 9/11! Where's the honor amongst the leadership in the CIA, DCI, Pentagon? During Watergate the AG resigned when given orders he felt were against the core values of this great country. We all supported Gen Petraeous during the war, but if he doesn't resign his CIA post over this and come clean, he is diminished in my mind. Gen Dempsey looked like a wet poodle sitting next to Panetta yesterday. Gen Ham, commander of AFRICOM which oversees Libya, got that job for carrying Zero's water heading a DoD effort to overturn DADT. Romney's gotta win and elevate the real generals like Odierno, Austin and other mem with "clangers". We need warfighters in the mold of Patton and retired Gen Honore (of Katrina relief) leading our man and women in uniform.

Panetta is making an idiot of himself by his comments talking this down.

This had better be enough to completely defeat Obama and remove the secretaries of state, defense, and Petraeus at CIA. Otherwise they should all be impeached.

Looks like "Princeton Patreaus" has some people who are now to be known as "Deep Throat" in this scandal where Fox News becomes Woodward and Bernstein.

Expect the Sunday shows to be a "cover your rear" by both the major networks and those in senior Administration positions of power.

Panetta, as SecDef, comes across as just another weakling "talking the talk," as always unwilling to "walk the walk" as most of this malignant narcissistic generation has done ever since Viet Nam.

Obama should be cooked, tarred and feathered by next Thursday in the minds (hopefully) of a majority of voting Americans.

However, realize that his people and his lawyers are standing by to do whatever they can to bring the election to his (Obama-Mao's) favor.

Blood on the streets may be just around the corner...

I have to wonder what the surviors were told what they could and couldn't say during the debriefing! What kind of threats were given to keep them from talking? Well, someone has talked!
Romney needs to and should bring this up! He needs to ask Obummer to explain how and why this happened!

No. 14 may have as plausible explanation as possible at this time. Administration had knowledge of previous attacks and pertinent information about increased activity leading up to 9-11-12. The ONLY conclusion one can draw from this latest from Fox News is the ambassador and his group was set up. The fact that Woods and Doherty and others who went into action meant fewer died than intended. I believe there are those in the CIA chain-of-command who need to be held criminally accountable for this debacle. How high this goes needs to be flushed out, but we already know The Once had real-time knowledge of what was going on. Benghazi will be with us for a good while.

#14, pair what you said with what I heard this morning that the SEAL member who was killed took it on himself to help (himself and one other as I remember) - it sure is possible that guys on the ground trying to do the right thing got in the way of a kidnapping attempt that the administration knew about and was planning to use to their political advantage. What an October surprise this is. And our U.S. Ambassador, his staffer & two SEAL bodyguards had to fall on their swords for it. May you Rest In Peace & your family be comforted in the knowledge that you did not die in vain.

This administration expects Americans to die to keep the peace, so their radical leftist philosophies can continue to be forced on us. As far as I'm concerned, they made a cold, calculated decision -- even BEFORE these men were killed -- to let the chips fall where they may & blame it on video protests. They didn't want any skirmishes marring their "middle east victory" resume -- since they had nothing else to point to for reelection.

Amazing interview just now on FoxNews!!

The father of one of the dead men had a heartbreaking interview on air about those who allowed this to happen and caused the death of his son. Amazingly, he said he wishes well for those persons, but said they need to make some changes in their hearts and lives.

This is not on Fox's website yet, but it is sure to be oon, and will be played and replayed. Watch for it... this weekend will be exciting.

This is sure to make a huge impact on the election. And watching Romney just now on Fox makes me think this is the turning point. There is a difference in his delivery and a bravery for telling it just like it is. Keep up the prayers.

P.S. I will take great delight in imagining how the WH & all the MSM cable/tv stations are scrambling right now like ants who have had their nest exposed.

"What do we do now? How do we spin THIS??!!! Holy Crap!"

A few may even decide to follow whatever consciences they have left & jump from the Propaganda Ship.

I also believe our Special Ops are purposely telling the WH that they can't find the terrorists responsible for the attack. They aren't going to "elect Obama" this time around.

Deliberate negligence resulting in deaths from a known threat is third degree murder. The 0bama regime is guilty of murder and is trying to cover it up.

FTA: “U.S. officials argue that there was a period of several hours when the fighting stopped before the mortars were fired at the annex, leading officials to believe the attack was over.”

THAT is your excuse?!?

“Yeah, we can see people with machine guns and RPG’s strafing the consulate. The personnel on the ground called for backup multiple times, but from our vantage point on the other side of the ocean it looked like maybe it was possibly over so we did nothing.”

These are the people running the military? Either this is a gross lie, or destructive incompetence.

Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell´s campaign has contacted the FBI after a recording of a private strategy meeting was published Tuesday in a liberal publication, claiming the campaign was the victim of "Watergate-style tactics" to bug the office. Several snippets of the audio from the February strategy sessions were published Tuesday by Mother Jones magazine, along with a lengthy article. The recording, obtained from an unnamed source, included McConnell aides discussing ways to politically damage actress Ashley Judd, who at the time was talked about as a possible McConnell challenger.

At a Democratic National Committee fund raising event in Atherton, California Thursday morning, President Obama declared that the United States government still needs to get its fiscal house in order: We still waste money in all kinds of things that don´t work, and we have the capacity to shift those dollars into things that do work and that will grow our economy. And we can reduce our deficit, stabilize our debt, and do so without sacrificing the kinds of investments that are going to be required to grow. During his remarks, the president spoke of the

Religious liberty groups are mobilizing to defend the chaplain of George Washington University’s Newman Center after gay students launched an effort to have the priest fired because he preaches against homosexuality and abortion. “It’s discrimination against Catholics,” said Patrick Reilly, president of the Cardinal Newman Society. “Secular colleges are fast becoming a very unsafe place for Catholics who hold true to their faith. This is a very, very sad situation.” Two gay students at George Washington told the GW Hatchet student newspaper that they want Father Greg Shaffer removed from campus

White House press secretary Jay Carney on Thursday defended President Obama´s fundraising swing through California, saying that despite "rhetoric from the other side" critical of the president, his push on behalf of Democratic Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was "a traditional exercise." "I think it’s important to note that -- because you’ve seen a lot of rhetoric from the other side suggesting that there is something wrong with that -- that Republican leaders in the House and the Senate have been out raising money for Republican candidates;

One of the first political issues negotiators must tackle in crafting an immigration reform bill is among the most important: what to name it. It’s a decision that will bruise egos, create legacies and deeply affect subsequent messaging battles. “Every time the bill is mentioned in the press, you either have a brand that´s positive or a brand that doesn´t mean anything or even hurts you,” said Frank Sharry, the executive director of the pro-immigration reform group America’s Voice. The wrong name, he warned, could doom a good bill. “If there´s not a

In a revelation that may have Colorado voters rethinking their state’s push on gun control, court documents revealed that the mass shooting in Aurora that killed 12 and injured 70 more could have been prevented by law enforcement. The psychiatrist for suspect, James Holmes, had warned campus police that Holmes was dangerous and homicidal a month before the shooting took place. Lynne Fenton even told the police that Holmes had begun to stalk and threaten her, and yet no action was apparently taken: A University of Colorado psychiatrist told campus police a month before the Aurora

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.
