Is Anna Wintour pressuring
designers to steer clear
of Ann Romney?

FOX News, by Hollie McKay

Original Article

Posted By:CEP, 10/23/2012 9:55:20 AM

LOS ANGELES –  "Honored to see First Lady Michelle Obama wearing our Spring 2013 dress at the final presidential debate," boasted the Twitter account of fashion label Thom Browne soon after Monday night's debate. Yet over at the Twitter account of OscarPRGirl, the official publicist for Oscar de la Renta, not a word was uttered about the fact that Ann Romney had donned a dark teal dress from the designer's collection.  But that's nothing new.

Comments:
Wintour is one ugly, hateful woman.

Ann Romeny doesn't need Anna Wintour or a 'label' too look fabulous - the woman is beautiful no matter what she wears.

There is no doubt in my mind that this is going on. Whether overtly or with simple attitude, the "artistic" community knows their careers depend on hating Republicans.

Wintour is only one of the powers-that-be who engages in tacit intimidation.

A designer dress on a two-axehandle, hulking, scowling, lumbering beast such as the First Lady still looks like a mess.

FTA "And after Romney sported a Diane von Furstenberg wrap dress, the DVF team went as far as to distance themselves from Romney by reportedly claiming that they were unsure how she obtained the dress." Charming group of people.

#1, Target clothes on Honey Boo Boo's mom would look better than most of the outfits Mooch wears.

You know, I think I'm starting to favor higher tax rates. Well, only on specific groups:

1. Hollywood leftists
2. Left wing fashion designers and foo-foo magazine publishers.

I'm thinking a 150% tax rate might be fair.

Moochie needs a burqua, IMO. Her ugliness comes from the inside.

Ann Romney's beauty is from her inner courage.

Who cares what this mean woman thinks? Michelle wears ugly and trashy clothes, and everything looks two sizes too small. Michelle is built like a linebacker, and she has no dignity, no class, and absolutely no common sense when it comes to her clothes. I am always so embarrassed to see Michelle out in public looking the say she does.

Ann Romney can afford to have her own designer. I am fairly certain some young-not so young designer/dressmaker could be convinced to take the job. Angela Kelly is in that position for the Queen.

Really, there's a simple solution to this, which is right down the Romney's alley. Ann should find small designers (nice people who are trying to make it big nationally) and have them make any special clothes she needs.

She would be setting trends (cause she already has a following), helping new designers get big-name recognition, AND supporting smaller businesses. Plus there's the added benefit of snubbing these snobs.

How's that for a win on all fronts?

I would lay bets that there are already designers lining up to outfit Mrs. Romney and Mrs. Ryan when their husbands win this November (yes, I said when, not if). Some of those designers are speaking out of both sides of their mouths I assure you. But at the end of the day, they are businessmen/women and they want their designs seen.
On another note, Mrs. Ryan wore a couple of dresses from Talbots at the RNC convention and the libs were furious when Talbots mentioned it on their FB page. I haven't seen any more entries on their FB page since.

She of the dyed dutch-boy bob is a sore loser. Vogue lost its relevance a long time ago.

Personally, I thought that grey and black lace number last night (with the bizarro bow broach at the neck) was totally out of place. Maybe for an evening at a nice restaurant or cocktails, but not for a debate. Didn't help her derriere, either, and once again demonstrated that MO's taste is in her mouth.

Wonder what she's going to do when the dresses aren't free?

Ann Romney wears Oscar de la Renta. And Alfred Fiandaca. Has for a long time. And she pays for them.

Mooch shills for all the wannabes and has killed off at least two of "her" sycophantic designers, one a woman in Chicago whose name already escapes me, and the other a designer for young things - Tracy Feith - whose casual Gidgety clothes she even wore to the National Cathedral. As the article states, Mooch will wear anything a designer sends her with a note of gratitude enclosed.

Hollie doesn't realize that most Americans want an elegant First Lady, not a clothes Clydesdale.

I'm sure Ann Romney is not losing one wink of sleep over this one. She buys almost exclusively off the rack (albeit many designer names), and couldn't care less what these boobs think. As others have said, she could wear a burlap flour sack and look simply ravishing.

Name one First lady in history besides Michele who boards Marine One in cut off shorts and flip flops? She has a huge butt, which lets be honest, is the main trait of black women. She hates our country, "all this for a damn flag" and gets coddled by the press and Hollywood. Afterall, we wouldn't want to OFFEND her would we. Hollie McKay is a young entertainment and pop culture reporterette from Australia who migrated to the US and Fox.

This piece is pure speculation piled on more speculation.

Thom Browne is a dreadful designer (go and find his designs at style.com) who would dress our men in tiny tight jackets and skinny capri pants that look as though they were bought in the boys department or shrunk in the laundry.

The dress Mooch wore was no exception. It made her already linebacker-dimensioned shoulders look larger, her unboobs look smaller and her ginormous butt look mammoth. The sweet little black bow at the back of the waistline directed us to that butt although it was hard to miss. The drab color on a very black woman was deadly.

(Cont'd)
What naive young Hollie doesn't seem to know is that Ann Romney has been dressing herself from Oscar de la Renta and other designers as a matter of course. (Now stand back for the hits that she is elitist and out of touch!) Moochell never wore designer clothes until she began campaigning in 2007 and sought out Chicago boutique owner Ikram to shop for her and provide her with her wardrobe. We read reams about how these clothes flooded the White House, complete with shoes and accessories, jewelry, the works. Sometimes they sort of fit, sometimes they didn't, sometimes they were grossly inappropriate as the weird getup to visit Westminster Cathedral for a private guided tour by its dean. And the big red flowered bare cocktail dress for a posthumous Medal of Honor (daytime) ceremony. The list goes on and on.

Anna may be trying to wield some kind of influence, but I doubt that someone as big as Oscar de la Renta would buckle to it. He is a businessman.

Michelle thinks if she wears something that looks like lace she will appear to be small and feminine. The outfit she had on last night looked like a gray tee shirt with black lace trim. Unbecoming and not flattering at all. She looks like a desperate drag queen.

Ann Romney's dress would have looked good on the Mooch if she could have had it properly altered to fit nicely. And Ann would have looked odd had she worn the bizarrely inappropriate dress that the Mooch wore last night. The difference is that Ann dresses the way her husband likes her to dress (and he seems to have excellent taste!), whereas the Mooch dresses to make other women jealous.

Just Googled her photo too. Wondered out loud why a woman 63 years old would wear her hair in that silly looking, childish cut and hubby said: "She's sixty-three; to hide the plastic surgery scars." (Behind her ears...)

OMG! That is exactly right! The English have a great descriptive term for women like Anna Wintour; they call them:

'Mutton dressed as lamb.'

Perfect!

And if I had ever bought that ridiculous, pointless magazine she edits (and please check my handle -and yes, its a magazine) I would quit buying it now. This woman is pathetic.

Wintour's stupid campaign is a good reason to shop on eBay for such designer baubles - it's the only way to make sure they don't get any profit.

Here's a designer whose politics are "to the right of Beowulf" - Zoran. Wear his stuff, he likes rightwingers who don't demand wholesale or comps and he has no use for Wintour or her idiotic ilk:

Reuters reports Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will resign today: The Los Angeles Times has more: Janet Napolitano, the U.S. secretary of Homeland Security and former governor of Arizona, is being named as the next president of the University of California system, in an unusual choice that brings a national-level politician to a position usually held by an academic. Her appointment also means the 10-campus system will be headed by a woman for the first time in its 145-year history.

HGTV viewers are expressing outrage after the network suggested they use American flags as table cloths for Fourth of July celebrations, calling offensive, un-American and an insult to the American military. “Using an American flag as a table cloth dishonors all Americans who love Old Glory – especially those who gave their lives defending it,” one viewer wrote. “No one dies for a table cloth.”

He says it´s unclear whether either ever applied and the applications aren´t considered public records.

Facing a surging homicide rate and several headline-grabbing murders, Chicago’s top cop is taking aim at lobbyists who he says prevent politicians from implementing more gun control measures. Appearing on a local Windy City Sunday morning talk show on the radio station WLSAM, Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said special interests that lobby politicians to influence their opinion on gun control are the real problem. “If there was a special interest influencing police work, I believe that would be called corruption,” McCarthy said.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Wednesday lashed out over the claim that the administration misled Americans about the nature of the Libya terror attack by asserting that it was the result of a protest, raising her voice during a Senate hearing and asking: "What difference, at this point, does it make?" Clinton, in what may be her final set of testimony as secretary, pointedly challenged Republican Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson when he claimed the department could have "easily" determined what happened that night by interviewing staffers who were evacuated.

Street vendors and souvenir stores across Washington, D.C. are selling posters depicting President Obama as Jesus Christ — and one national news publication called him the “Second Coming.” The poster, which does not have the official endorsement of the White House,  features an image of the president in prayer with the headline, “Prophecy Fulfilled.”

All 17 Democrats on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee have called on Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) to end the “partisan” investigation into the Benghazi attack “and begin focusing instead on conducting responsible oversight to implement constructive reforms.” The Dems, led by ranking member Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), charged that the probe “has been characterized by wild and unsubstantiated political accusations that turn out to be completely inaccurate.” They proceeded to outline those instances in the five-page letter. “Continuing this reckless pattern of launching wholly unfounded accusations on national television — and racking up more and more Pinocchios in the process —

As part of its plan to reduce U.S. greenhouse gas emissions, the Obama administration is targeting the dairy industry to reduce methane emissions in their operations. This comes despite falling methane emission levels across the economy since 1990. The White House has proposed cutting methane emissions from the dairy industry by 25 percent by 2020. Although U.S. agriculture only accounts for about 9 percent of the country’s greenhouse gas emissions, according to the Environmental Protection Agency, it makes up a sizeable portion of methane emissions — which is a very potent greenhouse gas. Some of these methane emissions come from

After a disastrous presidential campaign in 2012, can Texas Governor Rick Perry mount a credible bid for the White House in 2016? Texas Governor Rick Perry is currently on a media tour touting the theme that America is a great place for second chances, specifically second chances for Texas governors with national ambitions. Perry is trying to erase the memory of his disastrous 2012 GOP presidential campaign which included “brain-farts” and “oops” debate moments with his folksy, charming, and uniquely American manner. Curious about Perry’s comeback strategy, I asked Texan and GOP presidential media guru, Mark McKinnon and he said,

Las Vegas - Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft former Florida governor Jeb Bush into the 2016 presidential race, courting him and his intimates and starting talks on fundraising strategy. Concerned that the George Washington Bridge traffic scandal has damaged New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s political standing and alarmed by the steady rise of Sen. Rand Paul (Ky.), prominent donors, conservative leaders and longtime operatives say they consider Bush the GOP’s brightest hope to win back the White House.

The past couple of weeks have marked a turning point in American ugliness as the mob has turned its full fury on first lady Michelle Obama. From criticism of her trip to China to a recent “tell-all” by former White House assistant press secretary Reid Cherlin in the New Republic about Obama’s allegedly tyrannical behavior, the gloves have been removed. As described, she was a perfectionist — super-attentive to detail and laser-focused on advance planning. And this is bad because? Worse, according to a former (anonymous) staffer, there was no barometer for meeting Obama’s high standards. “The first lady having

A startling rift appeared Tuesday on the Supreme Court as the three female Justices came out swinging like Brunnhildes — women warriors — for what they erroneously labeled an “entitlement” to employer-provided contraceptives and morning-after pills. The Justices were hearing oral arguments in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a case hyped by the Democratic Party as a test for women’s rights. Justices Kagan, Ginsberg, and Sotomayor sprang on Hobby Lobby’s attorney , interrupting his every sentence and pummeling him with questions taken right out of the Democratic Party’s “war on women” playbook. That playbook was laid out in a

Please, try not to let what I’m about to tell you destroy your faith in the integrity of the national Democratic Party. Right now, a crime wave is sweeping the nation, and everyone in this out-of-control mob has a D after their names, even if most of the media are loath to report it. If you are a low-information voter, a Globe subscriber, say, you have been told endlessly that the root of all evil in American politics is the Tea Party, better known in your moonbat media as “teabaggers.” Oddly, however, the hacks rounded up over the last few days, well,

Ann Furedi, of BPAS, said the law does not prevent women from choosing a termination on the grounds of gender and she even compared it to abortion after rape. Mrs Furedi´s comments come weeks after it was disclosed that the CPS had decided not to prosecute two doctors who were exposed by a Daily Telegraph investigation arranging terminations purely because the unborn baby was a girl. A group of 50 MPs, drawn from across the party divide, then wrote to this newspaper warning that the decision was a “step back in the fight for gender equality” and effectively changes the law without

With studies showing widening economic gaps between whites and African Americans, civil rights leaders in metro Detroit are concerned. “We’re going in the wrong direction,” said Freda Sampson, a leader with the nonprofit group Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion. “We’re getting further and further divided.” To help close that racial and class divide, her group is holding an all-day conference, called the Equity Action Summit, on Saturday at Cobo Center in Detroit. Only "mere scraps of data documented" Barack Obama´s mother´s "days in Seattle," writes Obama biographer David Maraniss in his 2012 Barack Obama: The Story. Incidentally, Maraniss was telling the truth: Ann´s "days in Seattle" weren´t mentioned in Dreams from my Father and were only vaguely implied in Maraniss´s lengthy 2008 article. And it appears that the only "scraps" of evidence of Obama´s mother´s time in Seattle during 1961-1962 was a listing in a Seattle Polk directory and a University of Washington (UW) transcript. And it appears that the only "mere scraps" of evidence of baby Barack´s time in Seattle are
