| On Friday Drudge teased that far left sensationalist Gloria Allred was about to drop a bomb on the Romney Campaign. (Snip) So it is likely this year’s October surprise is Carrel Hilton Sheldon, a former Mormon. The book Horror Stories: Mitt Romney’s Shameful Record with Mormon Women details Mitt Romney’s “psychological intimidation and bullying” during his role as a Bishop of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The report describes how Romney “tried to bully” Carrel Hilton Sheldon when she was suffering through a difficult pregnancy into not having an

Comments: Yawn - seems to fit Allred's M.O. alright. In any event, the "revelation" will do what the other contrived & overblown stories have done (the 47% comment, Bain Capital, the dog on the roof story, etc..), it will energize the infantile left for a few days, but not help 0bama a bit.

I know many people who were born with disabilities. I haven't heard one of them wish he or she had never been born. Of course, those who were aborted aren't around to give their side of the story.

What is it with the dRATS that they can only get women's vote talking about abortion? This vagina monologue is way past its due date.

As a Bishop in the LDS church, I'm confident Gov. Romney had an obligation to show the lady that there were two sides to the question, despite a doctor's apparent recommendation.
That said, I don't think Romney has the "It-is-OK-to-kill-an-unborn-baby-under-any-circumstances" vote anyway.

If she's disgruntled, it's because she regrets the abortion now. Bet it's been a little difficult to explain to her other kids, therefore, find a scapegoat. Just a hunch that women who've had abortions have a lot of demons.

She did what she wanted to do, Romney advised her according to church beliefs. This is not a issue to me. She has probably felt guilty all these years. My sister had an abortion in the late 50's and regretted it until the day she died. As a women I can not stand Allred, she is does represent all women. Romney is our best choice for women and men.

Gloria and her fans are fine with allowing a baby to die. They really should be doing Jill L. Stanek's job. Then they could watch their policies at work in the the real world. Pro choice people work hard to murder babies in and out of the womb. The fact that many people are ok with that and that many more refuse to face the issue says a lot about where 'progressive' ideas have taken our country.

The article doesn't say whether or not she had the abortion. I read the one it cited, however, and found out she had. Perhaps all of this is coming out now because she feels guilty all these years after her choice.
Even though her doctors gave their opinions of possible outcomes, they didn't definitely say her baby would be affected by the procedure or that she'd lose her life continuing the pregnancy. There's another article on this site about a pro football player whose mother was told pretty much the same thing as Mrs. Sheldon. She went through with the pregnancy, and now "Tebowing" is everywhere in the modern American lexicon.

She would have a more compelling story to tell had she given birth to a child that was mentally or physically handicapped by her medications. She would have a more compelling story if after delivering the child, Mitt Romney refused assistance. She would have a more compelling story if Mitt Romney WASN'T acting as a BISHOP of the church.
By deciding to have the abortion, she puts the lie to the meme that Romney forced her to carry the child. Now, I expect that the party that has been on a rampage for days of "Women in Binders", will go out of its way to twist this into more about "Romney's War On Women".
And.........If Gloria Allred trots this out, she should be disbarred.

0bama has such a sordid past that nearly any point brought against Romney has a valid counter point for 0bama. This time it's 0bama's vote to let a child that is alive after a botched abortion, left to die without medical care. Or his support for the inhumane partial birth abortion. Which is more heartless? In her remarkable life, Margaret Thatcher achieved what Hillary Rodham Clinton still wants (or at least what the pundits say she wants): She became the first female leader of her country, and she did it in such a determined way that her sex was almost an afterthought. In many respects, the two women are profoundly different. Thatcher, who died Monday at 87, was a self-described "conviction politician" and arch-conservative who channeled Milton Friedman and bonded fiercely with "Ronnie" Reagan, her great pal and partner on the world stage as the Cold War came to an end.

The U.S. has been denied direct access to the only publicly known suspect in custody in connection with the Benghazi terror attack, Fox News has learned, with U.S. interrogators still unable to sit in the same room as the Egypt-held prisoner to ask questions. Abu Ahmed, also known as Mohammed Jamal, is suspected of establishing Islamist training camps in Eastern Libya where militants who took part in the Sept. 11 Benghazi terrorist attack were able to train. Ahmed is not suspected of directly taking part in the attack which left four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, dead.

More recently, Republicans have invoked Benghazi to shoot down one would-be cabinet nominee, Susan Rice, and delay two others, Chuck Hagel and John Brennan. The al-Qaida extremists bypassed the brightly-colored, high-end synthetic floor coverings and stopped their pickup truck in front of a man selling more modest mats woven from desert grass, priced at $1.40 apiece. There they bought two bales of 25 mats each, and asked him to bundle them on top of the car, along with a stack of sticks.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Funicello, who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1987 and became a spokeswoman for treatment of the chronic, often-debilitating disease of the central nervous system, died at Mercy Southwest Hospital in Bakersfield, Walt Disney Co. spokesman Howard Green said. Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary

More than 700 Special Operations veterans are urging members of Congress to back a select committee to investigate last year’s Benghazi terrorist attack, according to a letter first obtained by Fox News. The letter from the group, “Special Operations Speaks,” supports the appointment of a special committee tasked with the single mission of investigating the attack that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead, and shut down the CIA operation in an annex of the Benghazi consulate, in the Sept. 11, 2012 attack. “Congress must show some leadership and provide answers to the public

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Amid all of the very real threats of war and stuff from North Korea, you´d think American intelligence officers want as much video footage of the enemy as possible. Well, here is one video featuring North Korean exercises and Kim Jong-Un holding a gun, and we´ll say this: they certainly get points for presentation. Remember the clap-happy report from Dennis Rodman´s diplomatic basketball vacation? This video comes courtesy of the same Youtube channel that gave us that Rodman video. It appears to be the same state news channel.(Snip for video)This latest dispatch from North Korea´s state television

The case of a same-sex Connecticut couple accused of repeatedly raping and abusing two of their nine adopted boys is headed for trial. Married couple George Harasz and Douglas Wirth of Glastonbury were supposed to be sentenced Friday in Hartford Superior Court under a plea deal, but instead withdrew from their agreement with prosecutors. The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
