WASHINGTON — The United States and Iran have agreed for the first time to one-on-one negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program, according to Obama administration officials, setting the stage for what could be a last-ditch diplomatic effort to avert a military strike on Iran. Iranian officials have insisted that the talks wait until after the presidential election, a senior administration official said, telling their American counterparts that they want to know with whom they would be negotiating. News of the agreement — a result of intense, secret exchanges

Lets be clear: a New York Times article, quoting Obama Administrations officials,
stating that Iran has agreed to one on one talks: Lets be clearer:: I do not believe the New York Times, I know that The Obama Administration can hardly speak without lying, and of course, Iran has been using delaying tactics for years, even if the article is verifiable:: so, I want to see Iran make a public statement, not our Government, which is a shady crew, at best.
If the Iranian Government states that this
proposed meeting will be set after our elections, then I might start believing it
will happen. Pretty sad when one has more belief in a terrorist regime than one's own Government, which incidentally, is in the midst of a major foreign policy cover-up as I key this in.

Some reports on this indicate Khomeini insists on a signed letter from Obama. A letter signed by Obama, making agreements with Iran, looks to me like an international treaty which is subject to Senate (2/3) approval. If Obama tries to ease sanctions with only such a signed agreement,he violates Article II,Section 2 of the Constitution. That should be a key point for Romney to make on Monday.

Article says Iran also wants to include other issues in the agreement, like Syria.

Also, Israel was not in the loop:

Israeli officials initially expressed an awareness of, and openness to, a diplomatic initiative. But when asked for a response on Saturday, Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Michael B. Oren, said the administration had not informed Israel, and that the Israeli government feared Iran would use new talks to “advance their nuclear weapons program.”

“We do not think Iran should be rewarded with direct talks,” Mr. Oren said, “rather that sanctions and all other possible pressures on Iran must be increased.”

Military officials said they are investigating the conduct of a U.S. Marine who was on assignment for President Obama’s trip to the Netherlands last week, after witnesses said he was talking in detail about his job and passing around his government security badge during a night of drinking at a bar. The Marine, Korey Nathan Pritchett, was first identified by a Dutch newspaper based on witness accounts and smartphone photos taken during the partying, which happened two nights before Obama arrived at The Hague for a nuclear security summit. The Washington Post confirmed and expanded on that reporting through interviews,

What did that mean, I asked, surprised. Were they for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights? For gay marriage? Were they actually gay? He couldn’t really define it, though the conversation meandered in that direction for a few more minutes, also touching on the subject of the former president’s alleged marital infidelity,

Democrat Rep. Nancy Pelosi just might be a racist monster who wants to murder live children for the sake of eliminating “undesirables.” Why would I say such an outrageous thing? Because Pelosi has accepted an award named for Margaret Sanger. And Margaret Sanger was definitely a racist monster who advocated murdering live children for the sake of eliminating “undesirables.” Quote: The most merciful thing that the large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it. That’s advocating child murder. It’s not racist, but we’re not done. Sanger considered racial minorities to be “human weeds.” In context,

Barring a miraculous upsurge in President Obama’s dismal 41% approval rating, Hillary Clinton’s run for president in 2016 will be a steep uphill climb. Clinton will need to walk a political tight rope, distancing herself from Obama without coming across as a disloyal member of the president’s political coterie. A federal appeals court Thursday handed women in Texas a big win by upholding health and safety regulations that had been challenged by Planned Parenthood. Last year Texas passed a law that requires abortion doctors to have admitting privileges at a hospital no more than 30 miles from where the abortion is provided. The Supreme Court searched Tuesday for ways to let women get birth control without the government forcing their employers to cover the cost, as justices tried to balance business owners’ religious rights against allowing religious objections to a broad range of public policy issues. Justices touched on abortion, the limits of federal power and details of birth control, but the case centering on the Hobby Lobby craft store chain likely will come down to whether the court believes for-profit companies and their owners can claim a moral conscience objection to paying for employees’ birth control. A startling rift appeared Tuesday on the Supreme Court as the three female Justices came out swinging like Brunnhildes — women warriors — for what they erroneously labeled an “entitlement” to employer-provided contraceptives and morning-after pills. The Justices were hearing oral arguments in Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc., a case hyped by the Democratic Party as a test for women’s rights. Justices Kagan, Ginsberg, and Sotomayor sprang on Hobby Lobby’s attorney , interrupting his every sentence and pummeling him with questions taken right out of the Democratic Party’s “war on women” playbook. That playbook was laid out in a

A University of Virginia student arrested by Alcoholic Beverage Control agents who wrongly believed she´d illegally bought beer when in fact she only had bottled water is seeking $40 million in a lawsuit filed Tuesday. Elizabeth K. Daly, 21, alleges malicious prosecution, six counts of assault and battery and failure to appropriately train ABC agents in the suit which names the state and seven agents involved in her arrest. (Snip) Daly claimed she attempted to flee from the agents because neither were in uniform, one pulled a gun, and the other tried to smash her car window with a flashlight. ´My

Please, try not to let what I’m about to tell you destroy your faith in the integrity of the national Democratic Party. Right now, a crime wave is sweeping the nation, and everyone in this out-of-control mob has a D after their names, even if most of the media are loath to report it. If you are a low-information voter, a Globe subscriber, say, you have been told endlessly that the root of all evil in American politics is the Tea Party, better known in your moonbat media as “teabaggers.” Oddly, however, the hacks rounded up over the last few days, well,

Ann Furedi, of BPAS, said the law does not prevent women from choosing a termination on the grounds of gender and she even compared it to abortion after rape. Mrs Furedi´s comments come weeks after it was disclosed that the CPS had decided not to prosecute two doctors who were exposed by a Daily Telegraph investigation arranging terminations purely because the unborn baby was a girl. A group of 50 MPs, drawn from across the party divide, then wrote to this newspaper warning that the decision was a “step back in the fight for gender equality” and effectively changes the law without

With studies showing widening economic gaps between whites and African Americans, civil rights leaders in metro Detroit are concerned. “We’re going in the wrong direction,” said Freda Sampson, a leader with the nonprofit group Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion. “We’re getting further and further divided.” To help close that racial and class divide, her group is holding an all-day conference, called the Equity Action Summit, on Saturday at Cobo Center in Detroit. (Snip) Saturday’s conference, supported by the NAACP and Fair Housing Center of Metro Detroit, is to feature talks by President Barack Obama’s former pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah

Only "mere scraps of data documented" Barack Obama´s mother´s "days in Seattle," writes Obama biographer David Maraniss in his 2012 Barack Obama: The Story. Incidentally, Maraniss was telling the truth: Ann´s "days in Seattle" weren´t mentioned in Dreams from my Father and were only vaguely implied in Maraniss´s lengthy 2008 article. And it appears that the only "scraps" of evidence of Obama´s mother´s time in Seattle during 1961-1962 was a listing in a Seattle Polk directory and a University of Washington (UW) transcript. And it appears that the only "mere scraps" of evidence of baby Barack´s time in Seattle are
