Lets be clear: a New York Times article, quoting Obama Administrations officials,
stating that Iran has agreed to one on one talks: Lets be clearer:: I do not believe the New York Times, I know that The Obama Administration can hardly speak without lying, and of course, Iran has been using delaying tactics for years, even if the article is verifiable:: so, I want to see Iran make a public statement, not our Government, which is a shady crew, at best.
If the Iranian Government states that this
proposed meeting will be set after our elections, then I might start believing it
will happen. Pretty sad when one has more belief in a terrorist regime than one's own Government, which incidentally, is in the midst of a major foreign policy cover-up as I key this in.

This just in - if Obama is re-elected:

1. The world's drug cartels have promised to stop dealing drugs.
2. The Earth has promised to heal.
3. The crippled will walk.
4. Michelle will pay for her next vacation (maybe that's going a bit too far).

The Iranians have always been open to nuclear talks.

They talk all the time about nuking Israel.

Some reports on this indicate Khomeini insists on a signed letter from Obama. A letter signed by Obama, making agreements with Iran, looks to me like an international treaty which is subject to Senate (2/3) approval. If Obama tries to ease sanctions with only such a signed agreement,he violates Article II,Section 2 of the Constitution. That should be a key point for Romney to make on Monday.

Article says Iran also wants to include other issues in the agreement, like Syria.

Also, Israel was not in the loop:

Oren, said the administration had not informed Israel, and that the Israeli government feared Iran would use new talks to “advance their nuclear weapons program.”

Iran wants to do everything they can to help Obama get reelected.

Make a deal, Øbama- you know, a "deal" deal- anykind of a deal will do. but make a deal, now - The Iranians smell political desperation silt in the American water and are going to get anything they want for nothing back---and Øbama and the Øbama leased media will paint it up as the Deal of the Century. Even if it has us supplying Iran with fissile nuclear material and assembling the nuclear bombs at Oak Ridge for them!

I don't see this as a surprise, actually. Iran has been "having talks" on its nucelar operations for a good many years now.

If we ever were to get into any kind of talks with Iran (which I don't recommend--how far can you trust the mullahs?), the absolute last person I'd want sitting on the American side is Obama. He isn't even on our side. But you know he'll have a lot of flexibility in his second term.
