Romney faces a big risk
if he returns to Libya
scandal at final debate

Fox News, by Juan Williams

Will last Tuesday’s big debate moment become Monday night’s big debate topic? Tuesday’s moment came when the candidates focused on the recent attack that killed the US ambassador to Libya and three others. As the Wall Street Journal’s conservative editorial page wrote: It was Mitt Romney’s “weakest moment.” The New York Time’s liberal editorial page concluded that Romney’s fumbling handling of the Libya issue was “the most devastating moment for Mr. Romney.” Now as the campaigns ready for the foreign policy debate, to be held Monday in Florida, the question is whether Romney returns to the question of Libya. Political

Comments:
How in the world can he avoid talking about Libya in a foreign policy debate?? I find it odd that he says it would be a risk for Romney to talk about it and yet still calls it a scandal. Once again poor little Juan is absolutely wrong.

Yeah, Juan, Mitt will be sure to follow your sage, non-biased advice.
Just like CNN this morning is essentially saying "Stop talking about Benghazi."
Why? Because it hurts their guy, President Empty Chair

Juan "THe Putz" Williams would be most happy if Romney didnt bring that up. Dont want anything said about it.

Romney was on a roll until Candy cut him off and announced that OBAMA did in fact call it terrorism. That was wrong and she later admitted it, but it stopped Mitt's momentum, which is what Candy meant to do.

Juan carrying Obama's water as usual. Mitt Romney faces a bigger risk if he DOESN'T bury Obama on Libya. He needs to gather the facts to date and hit him hard in a Presidential way, then explain how he would have handled it.

Romney will spell out the facts and question Obama...

Why was Security Request Denied?

Why, when State has live streaming Video of attack. did WH misrepresent the events?

Who told Rice and Carney to lie to the American people?

Why has Al Qaeda become a stronghold in Benghazi and across the region?

How did Al Qaeda get their hands on weapons Obama supplied to Libya?

Romney was rattled when Crowley backed up Obama's lie and I agree he didn't regain his balance on that subject. But, he'll be ready on Monday. I see that CNN thinks it's time for us to move on from the Benghazi story, too. Now, I wonder why?

Keep dreaming, Juan. You're going to say obama's right no matter what he says or doesn't say. Just because Fox News and Business put you on every other show, it doesn't mean we like listening to you or that we actually do. I make it a point to mute or change the channel, just so you know.

A contrarian indicator if there ever was one.

Romney will tear Obama to bits with this issue.

What I am loving about this is the feeling that I get from Romney that he knows exactly what he is doing. 4 years ago, McCain would have bought the 'we should not politicize a trajedy' hook, line and sinker.

Romney probably had to contain himself at the last debate and, strange as it may seem, Crowley did ROMNEY a favor by making it a larger story.

Now Romney goes into the final debate with a full magazine and one in the pipe.

Juan, poor Juan is there any way to convince you to just lock yourself in a closet and shut up? This BS is so typical you, "Juan," it isn't even necessary to see your byline to know you're the writer. Ever more frantic and bulgy-eyed, Juan not only looks more in the tank for Zippy, he looks more ludicrous every day. And he's become even more sensitive to anyone who challenges his liberal stupidity reacting in anger and spitting into the camera. Dare we hope that FOX, and anyone else inviting him to speak anywhere, will wake up and do the world a favor and find a big enough cork to gag him for good? I worry when I find myself almost feeling sorry for him.

Juan's advice is worthless year after year. Setting that aside, I agree with the headline, don't bring up Libya.

No minds will be changed and no votes gained. The topic is too tangled for the forum.

Face it, the so-called debates resemble petty playpen quarrels. The adage about mud wrestling with a pig applies.

Libya was a total fiasco, a spew of lies from the WH and every administration orifice. Any voter who doesn't realize that by now never will and never intends to.

The word is out that Ambassador Chris Stephens was gay. There were ads placed in the local papers advertizing for gay body guards.
For unknown reasons, the military guards were withdrawn a month earlier. Essentially, the Ambassador was defenseless that night.
His two friends, Former Navy Seals, were not supposed to even be there.
He wrote how he feared for his safety, asked for protection; it was denied.
My question: Was this attack planned as a hit on this guy, and was the video produced to provide cover for the planned hit? Who would have wanted this chaos, and would it have provided an opportunity for Obama to look Presidential?

Øbama is in deep, deep self-made doo and knows it. The lefty media and friends will try everything to try to prevent Romney from pulling the trigger Monday night.

Another questionable point in Juan's piece: declaring Obama winner of the second debate. This is debatable. Some say Obama, some say Romney, some say tie. And if Obama and Crowley had not conspired against Romney on Bengazi, Romney would have been the winner across the boards.

Reply 33 - Posted by: Hazymac, 10/19/2012 2:11:02 PM     (No. 8946060)

What happened at Benghazi is the worst presidential scandal in history, and anyone with a modicum of sense knows it. It's not impossible to believe that some of the worst theories about what really happened might be horrifyingly true, and that several people including Obama, Hillary Clinton, James Clapper, and Susan Rice might merit imprisonment. Was Benghazi a horribly failed attempt at making Obama look like the Israelis at Entebbe in 1976? Why were Libyan al-Qa'eda members armed by this Administration? Really, who needs enemies whan our own leaders produce such tragic results?

The late and much lamented Tony Snow considered Juan Williams to be a good friend, and if Tony had a high personal opinion of Juan, so much the better for Juan as a human being. I never disagreed with Tony on anything, so great was my respect and admiration for him. Juan has written some very wise things about racial relations, and for that I respect him. Obviously, he is a good person.

But politically, Juan is an embarrassment. On the subject of Obama, one would be wise not only to take Juan's opinions with a boulder of salt but to believe the opposite of what he says. He really is that much upside down concerning his Chicago hero. With his reasoning faculties deliberately disabled and his political perception blinded, what he says would be funny if it weren't so tragic. Think with your head, Juan. Racial pride is no substitute for wisdom.

Next President Romney just won the Al Smith roast in the same way he won the first debate--the speakers must have written their own jokes. The Romney sons probably held a session and their sides still hurting, saying nothing about campaign people chiming in. Obama just isn't as likeable, guy, face it. LOL. His narcissistic self aware self-roasting jokes were not warm and too political agenda driven for the event. He failed again. He made susre to let everyone know Europe loves him better than they did Romney which made him look small.

Even Chris Matthews laughed at some Mitt jokes--who could help it?

No, Juan, Mitt isn't shaking in his boots about going one on two with obama and Sgieffer. The Eye of the Tiger? The CEO winner who doesn't have to lie, cheat. steal or other stuff to do it.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

In Philadelphia, at a human abattoir on Lancaster Avenue, is where it ends, not where it starts. It starts with the perversion of language. It starts when the icons of a dissipated culture reduce a baby to a “fetus.” From there, Yeats’s blood-dimmed tide rolls rapidly in. Before long, a baby is not a person but a punishment, as President Barack Obama framed the matter in his familiar off-the-cuff iciness. Of course, to describe newborn children in their boundless possibilities and wonder would be to acknowledge, foremost, their humanity. That is why, instead, abortion enthusiasts must grope for words

Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D-WV), one of the architects of the Affordable Care Act, said on Tuesday that the healthcare law, set to go into full effect in less than eight months, is “probably the most complex piece of legislation ever passed by the United States Congress” and “is just beyond comprehension.” Rockefeller said he is concerned that early missteps with implementing the healthcare overhaul may cascade into confusion and chaos. The law, said Rockefeller, is “so complicated and if it isn’t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse.” Rockefeller’s consternation echoes comments made earlier this

They say they were just doing what the boss trained them to do. But eight former employees of a run-down West Philadelphia abortion clinic now face prison time for the work they did for Dr. Kermit Gosnell. Three have pleaded guilty to third-degree murder. And Gosnell, 72, is on trial in the deaths of a patient and seven babies allegedly born alive. In testimony at the capital murder trial this past month, an unlicensed doctor and untrained aides described long, chaotic days at the clinic. They said they performed grueling, often gruesome work for little more than minimum wage,

With President Obama, there’s always a catch. In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so. Republican leaders in Congress ought to be delighted since they had “championed”—Obama’s word—the idea in the first place. Then came the catch. The president’s price for adopting this gentle reform was hundreds of billions in new tax increases.

Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

According to an ABC News report, senators from the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” pushing immigration reform are expected to drop their bill, estimated at around 1,500 pages, on Tuesday, mere hours before the only scheduled Senate hearing on the topic. “A bipartisan group of senators plans to introduce its long-awaited immigration bill on Tuesday, Senate sources confirmed to ABC News,” Jim Avila and Jordan Fabian wrote on Friday. “Four Democrats and four Republicans, known as the ´Gang of Eight,´ wrapped up months of hard-fought negotiations this week and will put forth a bill that includes a pathway

Remember little Anthony Freemont, played by cute little Billy Mumy, in one of the "Twilight Zone´s" most famous episodes? In the opening sequence Rod Serling informs us: "A monster had arrived in the village. Just by using his mind, he took away the automobiles, the electricity, the machines -- because they displeased him -- and he moved an entire community back into the dark ages -- just by using his mind. . . . and the people there have to smile. They have to think happy thoughts and say happy things because once displeased, the monster can wish them into a cornfield

On Thursday, in the midst of ongoing national debate over prospective gun control and comprehensive immigration legislation, House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) said that he didn’t need the approval of a majority of his own party to move forward with legislation. Referring to the so-called Hastert Rule, named after former House Speaker Denny Hastert (R-IL), which dictated that House leadership not bring up any bill for a vote without the support of a majority of the majority party, Boehner said, “Listen: It was never a rule to begin with.” Then, realizing the gravity of admitting

TALLAHASSEE - Picture this: You´re in the left lane of the interstate, driving a little below the speed limit, when some guy zips up behind you and swerves past you on the right. Then you notice the blue lights flashing. You´re savoring the satisfaction of seeing a trooper actually nab an aggressive driver — until you realize it´s you he´s pulling over. This could happen, if not very often, under a major transportation package expected to be taken up in the Senate Appropriations Committee next week. Introduced by Sen. Jeff Brandes, a St. Petersburg Republican, the bill is a 173-page

A few hours after Margaret Thatcher´s death on Monday, the snarling deadbeats of the British underclass were gleefully rampaging through the streets of Brixton in South London, scaling the marquee of the local fleapit and hanging a banner announcing, "THE B@&$! IS DEAD." Amazingly, they managed to spell all four words correctly. By Friday, "Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead," from "The Wizard of Oz," was the No. 1 download at Amazon UK. Mrs. Thatcher would have enjoyed all this. Her former speechwriter John O´Sullivan recalls how, some years after leaving office, she
