#1, I second that idea. When the camera opened on her, I thought her ample, square, body made her look like Orson Wells or Raymond Burr in the old Ironside tv series. What an embarrassment for CNN!

I believe Ozero was prepped on the questions and that the bit about the Rose Garden was set up. I also believe it will come back over and over to bite him. It is so hard to keep track of one's lies.

One of the worst "moderating" jobs I've ever seen. Everything from time management to impartiality to selection of questions. Butting her face into siding w/ Barry on Libya revealed her true colors. Forget she later walked back her comments; the damage was already done.

And what was that hot-mic moment all about, when we heard Ms. Crowley say "Yeah, right". Who was she speaking to? Her off-camera DNC coaches?

You are incorrect Mr Neumeyer. In the rose garden speech he did NOT say it was a terrorist act. He said 'acts of terror' in general. Crowley and Obama were wrong.

I knew this group of "undecided" voters would give Crowley plenty of opportunity to cherry pick Democrat inspired questions, and she did. To Romney AND Obama: How are you different from Bush Mr. Romney? She also made sure Obama could hype his worn out Lilly Ledbetter talking points. Just a couple of examples.

Ok folks, I despise Ms. Crowley's partisan hack and totally inappropriate tactics as much as anyone, but the snarky name-calling about her appearance is uncalled for and makes us look bad. We can discuss substance here without resorting to being 12-year-old mean girls.

Is anybody surprised? Their Candy cannot keep her fingers out of the pie--or her voice out of the debate--why do we put ourselves through these ordeals when the moderator is sitting with the Nobama? We always wring our hands afterwards -- the writing was on the wall before it began. Ah ha, however, Governor and soon to be President Romney kept his calm and didn't call her out immediately! Nobama is a loser, will be the loser.

By the time they got to this question, it was so out of control, nothing would have surprised me. I couldnt believe Obama actually asked her to confirm he was right.. this is an outrage, but it took the wind out of Romney. He couldnt fight both of them. But, look out for the next debate. Its all foreign policy, and Obama cant continue to lie about the actually facts. Romney better drive this home.

Candy wanted desperately to go down in history as the best debate moderator of modern times. The list of her errors is growing larger by the minute. But what could we expect with 4 of the moderators chosen being known liberal Democrats? Bob Schieffer is no better than the rest! He knows how important the last debate is and he'll do everything in his power to make sure Obama comes out looking like a winner. I refuse to be discouraged over Obama's "stellar performance" as one of MSNBC's copycat analysts declared. Why don't these talking heads wait for the polls to come out, to see if Romney lost any of his women votes, to see if the numbers remain virtually unchanged from what they were pre-debate? If Candy had given Romney even part of the extra minutes she gave Obama, Romney could have answered her questions fully. Obama even lies when telling the truth would serve him better !!

How was it Crowley was so quick to jump in and side with Obama? If she was so well prepped, she'd have known what was in the transcript. It looks like her prep was to collude with the Dims, facts be damned. Backing off later is meaningless, the bell is rung. As bad as the old media are, this is their Watergate moment.

Even HuffPo is criticizing (mildly, but still...) Crowley's "interruption".

She didn't want to be a potted plant. She wasn't. She was an Obama plant.

Candy walked it back on her own network after the debate saying Romney was right in the main but used the wrong word. In fact the Obama reference to terrorism in the Rose Garden was generalized and not applied to the Libya attack. Romney was totally correct and Obama was lying with the backing of Candy the moderator. This whole affair looks to me like a set up by in the tank media!

These comments on Crowley's size (or Michelle's rear or whatever) do NOTHING to advance our case and in fact they take the focus off the real issues and place them squarely on nasty name calling---------and the real facts are lost in the bombast!

Obama had deception written all over his face when Romney was questioning him about his Rose Garden comments, until Candy bailed him out. Once she did, audible cheers (from a ''non-cheering'' audience) arose. How likely is it that ''undecided'' voters would so readily cheer for one candidate?

Regardless, the quote will now draw more scrutiny; and Romney will have a chance to refute it at the final debate.

Lsat night's debate featured the Obama/Crowley team vs. Mitt Romney, and the outrageous unfairness of it did not go unnoticed. But then again, Candy told everyone she was going to inject herself into the game.

I wonder if debate viewers realize that Crowley and her backers at CNN really believe the American people are stupid and that her cunning ploys would be overlooked.

Also Obama mentions the 47% doctored tape leak at the very end after there is no opportunity for a Romney rebuttal. Such a coward!

Instead we should take our outrage to comments@debates.org and let the organizers know that we want a fair, open discussion of the issues that face our country so that the informed voter can make a choice between candidates. #38: I do too. And I want journalists to point out that Romney was essentially correct because Obama did NOT characterize the Benghazi attack as an act of terror in the rose garden that day. He vaguely referenced acts of terror after setting the meme for the press (which they slavishly took and adhered to) of the video being the issue and the "protest" being spontaneous.

Did anyone notice how, during this exchange, Obama quickly said to Candy "Get the transcript Candy"? It was so quick and Candy was so ready that it smacked of collusion. Not a surprise, but a point that may add to the weight of the argument.

The questions weren't all bad; Mitt was excellent in differentiating himself from W and in explaining how he has been mischaracterized by many in the media and in the electorate. Having said that, he blew the Bengazi question by not simply asking why the officials were left unprotected on 9/11, end of story. Forget that Rose Garden baloney.

The biggest loser in last night's debate is the American media, and yet the left will cheer her performance. What a sad, sad day.

That she (lamely) tried to walk the comment back later, that's akin to a newspaper placing their corrections on page 17-B. Useless.

The question about President Bush was despicable and should not have been allowed in this debate. Also, I found the people in the sudience asking the questions to have that unmistakable liberal East Coast attitude.

When are the Republicans going to insist on a few pro-Republican moderators? Do we have to use a rotating selection of Liberal NPR, CBS, CNN types exclusively? Or better yet, why not eliminate moderating entirely? But if moderating is absolutely necessary, why not two moderators, one to help Obama as usual, and one to act professional?

There's something about ex-NPR people that doesn't allow them to escape the long brainwashing sessions. Juan Williams was okay when Fox first hired him from the spider's next but the liberal disease soon returned.

Crowley's major offense against Romney was not a spur-of-the-moment and wrong comment on the word "terror," but the studied exclusion of the issue of Obamacare so detested by the majority of voters, as well as any question on the time-bombs of S.S. & Medicare.

"Error" on page one. Correction in small font on page 23.

Media and Crowley agree this morning that Romney was correct on substance. He could have phrased it better.

However, the point Romney made was that 0-bama jetted off to Vegas and other fundraisers while events in Libya were still unfolding. 0-bama did not address this point. His defense was that he made a speech in the Rose Garden the next day – as if that somehow absolves him of any further obligation. That deflected the exchange to a nitpick point as to whether 0-bama used the word “terror” in his remarks – which is 100% irrelevant to Romney’s original critique.

Romney also neglected to mention 0-bama’s OWN speech to the U.N. in which he mentioned the video at least 6 times, but never once referred to the attack as terrorism. -0- attacked the maker of the video, not the terrorists.

When the POTUS has to look to a lib moderator to save him from his opponent (and from the truth), the POTUS is in trouble. And this one is. He looked like the weak man that he is. "Candy! Candy! Help, Candy, help!"

#15 tv is a visual medium and Ms crowley's appearance was very distracting. A viewer seeing this woman for the first time would spend a lot of time just trying to figure out whether they were actually looking at a woman or a man, dressed as a woman. In radio the voice is on display, in tv the appearance is on display. Aside from her unpleasant look her job as a moderator was criminal and she should be barred from ever moderating another debate.

Every single day since O got "elected" I've heard the same old song and dance. Lie after lie afer lie.

I'm so sick of it i could scream. I've also been in a very bad depression since that "man" was "elected".

Now at least I have hope where there was none before.

I pray to God Almighty that Mr. Romney is our next President of the United States of America.

Given the quality of the moderators during these debates, I'm surprised Honey Boo Boo wasn't selected as a debate moderator. She would have done at least as well as the others, and she did, let us not forget, endorse Obama on Jimmy Kimmel's show.

Not mentioned yet was the time alotted to Gov. Romney and Pres. Obama.

I remember the clock being on screen when Romney was speaking, but not so much when Obama was speaking.

Romney was continually being interrupted by Crowley and told that he would get his time later, to just wait. But that never happened. In the end, Obama had minutes more time than Romney. But from what was said, and shown, I really thought Romney was getting the lion's share of the time.

For the truly undecided, this shold have been eye opening, if they wanted their eyes opened.

Maybe the GOP wll finally get serious about who they permit to moderate debates. They've allowed the libs to dominate the process far too long. Time to quit being the Stupid Party when it comes to debates and demand balance and objectivity in the choice of moderators.

And did anyone mention the applause from the reporter's section (as reported on Drudge) when Romney's wealth was mentioned. No bias there. Now wonder there is no respect left for the Press, and that of course includes Crowley, who a week earlier on HER program had asked why Obama insisted on saying it was an attack based on that video when it had been concluded everywhere else it was a terrorist attack. She really is ethical, eh.

I had an elderly aunt like Candy Crowly. She always tried her best to be outstanding but something always rained on her parade.She was lots of fun but never had all the pieces together at the same time.
We had some great laughs together but, for some reason, I always felt sorry for her. I still laugh about the time she made me a birthday cake and forgot to use the baking powder and then forgot the candles..We just piled ice cream on it and had a blast. I miss her, even after nearly fifty years. Enjoy your retirement, Candy. You've earned it.

Yes, the name calling is not really necessary. From this part of the world, I was really shocked to see how the moderator was behaving. One wonders whether she was not paid before the debate to do what she did. Or even promised something. I tend to believe either one because of the way Obama looked her straight in the eye and said "Can you say that a little louder, Candy ?" That was a set up against Romney. However, I'm sure I'm not the only one to have seen this and I don't think the hardworking, decent, law abiding Americans who have ethics and values missed what happened. Romney did very well considering what he had up against him. He certainly didn't come across as being arrogant, disdainful and disrespectful, all the while showing us that he really means what he says, that he's going to try and put America back on track. #48, you're correct about this site. Many times I have admired a clever remark by a fellow L-dotter, only to hear it parroted later on by a talk show host, without attribution.

Crowley's unfortunate physical aspects are very much germane to this discussion. She is one of a class of women who are bright and hardworking, but, because of their appearance have a definite pathology. I am a normal sized, smart, and yes, fairly pretty woman and I have been dealing with the unattractive heavy smart girls all my working life. Some of them are true joys to know and work with and their inner beauty shines on out, but, others like Crowley are simply OUT TO GET someone BECAUSE it is THEIR TURN or WHATEVER. Yes, that was shouting, because that is how they are.

This was Crowley's turn in the spotlight and she blew it big time because she wanted the kool kids in the DNC to like her, and to really see her. Instead she goes down in history as a joke who sold out her integrity and professionalism in order to participate in some very cheap tricks. I think it all hit her in the light of day just how much she threw away and that is why she so desperately tried to walk it back all day. If she had simply done a good and fair job, she would be the object of admiration instead of just another sell out and thus the subject of a lot of fat jokes.
