I don't think we know the "real reason" for this attack.I think it's something that would be highly embarrassing for the administration if it got out. All of a sudden now Obama,Biden or no one in the WH knew anything about the semantics of this attack.They're pre-distancing themselves in case something big squirts out.

having read the article and the above posts, I must say that whatever the attack was, Obammy has to go. The election is getting more important every day. Al Qaeda will not stop. I understand the feelings of all of the posters, but until we have oil independence, the Middle East will remain a vital interest to us. We can't write it off. We must support Israel in any case.

Reading through all the signs of unrest, I thought of Obama tacitly ignoring these while making speeches about having al Qaeda on the run. It's terrible to say, but maybe, maybe the four deaths in Libya, were like soldiers dying. Maybe they did not die in vain, but brought to daylight Obama's foreign failures to help defeat him in this critical election.

My conclusion from reading this article appears to be quite different than the first 17. I conclude the US needs to apply tactical nuclear weapons against the only type of military target that has meaning in their world, a substantial Islamist population center. Re-apply as needed.

I'm still wondering how the Islamic attackers knew that Stevens would be in Benghazi that day. I heard before that he had been in Europe, and had just came back to Libya the day before. Did they post his schedule on the lamppost outside the consulate?
