More working part-time. More not working at all. More on disability. More working at lower-paying jobs. More standing in wheat-fields trying to thumb rides from flying saucers coming by to make circles just to get out of here.

I heard of a guy who was thrilled over being in traction in the hospital, 'cause of all the money he was saving to needing to get any clothes dry-cleaned.

Businesses responded to the dept of labor that there were 114K jobs created, households surveyed responded that over 800K jobs were found, the U6 number stays static, the U3 number drops, and the MSM says the President has saved the Country. Exactly how does one call a household and get an answer, if in fact they are home, but stating they now have a job, that they are not at. If they have a job, why are they not at work. Do they all work the 2nd and 3rd shifts? How does the gov't contact people when many households no longer have land lines. If the figure was accurate, the U6 number should have dropped. This whole scenario is suspect.

This kind of job creation has happened four times in the last forty six years. In three other occurrences the economy was white hot and at the upper limit of possible growth. Today it is a dead-in-the-water 1.3%. Who are they kidding?

Part-time employment means the employer is not likely to provide benefits, which means part-time workers much enter into a contract with the devil, I mean, the government, to get coverage or pay a huge tax, I mean, fine, to the IRS.

Democrats excited at all the part-time workers, right?

Dems are counting how many are at week 90+ of unemployment, and working the numbers - just like vote counting.

800,000 households say someone is now working? How many were on unemployment, but now calling themselves a "consultant" after the benefits have run out?

Bloomberg should be ashamed of such nonsense, but being in the tank for Obama precludes it.

All of a sudden there's a slew of part time jobs reported in September. Why now? I would think the Summer is a better time for part time jobs. Hey, if Obama did well at the debate on Wednesday this report would have not been released. This was obviously plan B they've been holding in their hip pocket used calm and manipulate the masses. Same thing when he released that phony Birth certificate.

I start tomorrow in a job found through a temp agency. It is only supposed to last for 1-2 months, but there is a possibility that it will be longer or become permanent. I am hoping for either because after searching for work for more than a year, I am down to less than 8 weeks of unemployment comp and right around Christmas, I will be screwed to the wall, finance-wise.

Problem with part time positions around here is that even those come at a premium with competition being fierce and applicants many.

They make it sound like it's such a good thing to work part-time. Maybe all full time jobs should be shared by two people so everyone can enjoy the benefit of not making enough money. But with all the "free benefits" available I just can't imagine why anyone would complain about a part-time job at McDonald's. s/o
We know millions are unemployed and underemployed. We are hurting and you can write all the rosey stories you want but it does not change the face that millions of us are in a world of hurt.
