| WASHINGTON, D.C. — The president and first lady are celebrating a delayed 20th wedding anniversary today. Dining in Georgetown this evening, the first couple is commemorating the occasion at the urban chic Bourbon Street restaurant, located in the Four Seasons hotel. The true date of their nuptials fell on Wednesday, which happened to be the day of the first debate between President Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney. The president pointed out the occasion at the top of the debate, reminding his wife that in a year he wouldn’t be able to announce it on live television.

What did this little PR stop and photo-op cost the taxpayers this time? Did Michelle stop and count all the calories on the menu and give her dictatorial approval? I'm sure she won't have any pictures of this meal sent to the children she is starving in schools across the nation.

Wagyu Beef and Lobster Pot Pie look good. They're showing Lobster Pot Pie at $68, $69 on the Montana Wagyu, market price on the "Japanese" Wagyu NY Strip. (Wagyu is, apparently, banned from importation but still can be listed as "Japanese" because--well, read the article, link below.)
At least they didn't jet to Tokyo to dine on the real thing. Must be thankful for small mercies.
I know, I know, I have too much time on my hands (it's true). But I had to share this with you all: Forbes has the third in a series on Wagyu and Kobe beef. Who knew? Looks as if the nouveau riches might be forking out too much for American Kobe and Wagyu beef.

I wish he's stay in Georgetown with his ''sweetie.'' Unfortunately for us in L.A. he'll be out here tomorrow doing some big money pick ups and fouling traffic from Downtown to the Westside and back. I'm trying to get to a big Tea Party rally tomorrow afternoon at the Westwood Federal Building, and I'm sure with the Obama street closings, it will be a frustrating trip both ways. But he'd want it to be that way for the likes of me, I'm sure.

"The debates are scheduled months in advance. If he can skip meetings with world leaders to be on the "View", he could have easily requested the debate be held on Tuesday or Thursday of the same week so he could be with the big Mooch on his anniversary"

Hours after First Lady Michelle Obama tearfully mourned the death of a 15-year-old girl who was shot in her Chicago hometown a second girl of the same age and in the same city has been critically wounded by gunfire. The unidentified girl was shot near her stomach around 1pm on the South Side of the city´s Grand Crossing neighborhood, roughly four miles south of where Hadiya Pendleton was killed on January 29. Just about 20 minutes later a 27-year-old man was shot in the leg in the same neighborhood, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs."
