Many, many liberals in the media have criticized President Barack Obama’s performance in the first presidential debate, but the cover of the new issue of the New Yorker may be the harshest one: Mitt Romney vs. an empty chair. Here’s the full cover:

Comments:
That's the extent of the article... but the picture is worth a million words. And, from the New Yorker no less!

Nobody that I've seen has mentioned this but Obama had some zombie eyes going the other night. The Slimes blamed it in Xanax but I suspect he had a couple stiff ones beforehand.

the left is really beside itself over Obama's performance but we've known all along he's an empty suit who doesn't know any more about this country than the community organizer crowd.

As a political junkie, (in the presence of others) I must suggest that we relax, pop some jalapeno-cheddar-garlic popcorn, rev up the blender and deeply enjoy the World Title Azzwoopin' about to happen when Joe Bumbles and Mssr. Ryan take the stage.

Politics is my 'Soap Opera'.

#9 give good advice "When taking 'the good with the bad'.....remember to take the good."

Speaking of advice, I visited Hillbuzz.org to see the suggested article another Ldotter mentioned on another thread. It is entitled Daily Doom Antidote: Top Ten Things to Know About Denver Debate Last Night - 10/4/2012". Some of it really blew my mind, but I think the people running the web site are more in the know than most media types. #10 was listed first, and if it is true, which I don't doubt, we are in some serious danger. You'll have to read it yourselves. When you get on the Home page keep scrolling down - it was on page 3 when I started this post.

The surface of the sun erupted in a solar flare early Friday, unleashing a blast of super-heated plasma into space. A huge sunspot known as AR1654 produced the M1-class flare at 4:11 a.m. EST, officials with NASA´s Solar Dynamics Observatory said in a description of the event. The SDO spacecraft is one of several sun-watching space telescopes keeping tabs on solar flares and other sun weather events. According to Spaceweather.com, sunspot AR1654 is growing more active and is now "crackling with M-class solar flares" like the one that erupted today. FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Tim Tebow said that he never asked out of running Wildcat plays last week, but the Jets’ backup quarterback acknowledges that Rex Ryan may have misunderstood him. Tebow said on Wednesday that he told Ryan last Tuesday that he was “definitely disappointed” he wasn’t going to be the starting quarterback in place of the benched Mark Sanchez, and added that he told the coach he wanted to play “regular quarterback.” “I never said, ‘Hey, I don’t want to do anything,’” Tebow said.

If the wireless Internet connection during your holiday flight seems more reliable than it used to, you could have the humble potato to thank. While major airlines offer in-flight Wi-Fi on many flights, the signal strength can be spotty. (Snip) Engineers at Chicago-based Boeing used sacks of potatoes as stand-ins for passengers as they worked to eliminate weak spots in in-flight wireless signals. They needed full planes to get accurate results during signal testing, but they couldn’t ask people to sit motionless for days while data was gathered. “That’s where potatoes come into the picture,” Boeing spokesman

Fertility is the missing chapter in sex education. Sobering facts about women’s declining fertility after their 20s are being withheld from ambitious young women, who are propelled along a career track devised for men. The refusal by public schools’ sex-education programs to acknowledge gender differences is betraying both boys and girls. The genders should be separated for sex counseling. It is absurd to avoid the harsh reality that boys have less to lose from casual serial sex than do girls, who risk pregnancy and whose future fertility can be compromised by disease. Boys need lessons in basic ethics and moral reasoning
