How the Liberal Media
Ruined Obama

American Thinker, by Lisa Fritsch

Original Article

Posted By:DW626, 10/6/2012 5:59:00 AM

It's not an "Incumbent Curse," as MSNBC would call Obama's performance at Wednesday's first presidential debate. It was not Obama's fear of coming across as the angry black man, as Michael Eric Dyson surmised, that prevented Obama from driving a strong debate on the issues with Mitt Romney. And it was not that Mitt Romney has been practicing since June for the debates, per David Axelrod's analysis. Nor was it a question of Obama losing the debate stylistically rather than substantively.

I'd love to see this in the Must Reads. It's a succinct and devastating description of how the leftist media created a spoiled brat and protected him for years. Now we've seen a glimpse of the REAL Obama and we shouldn't be surprised he's a complete failure. He was all along, we just weren't able to see behind the curtain.

All this is true and the thing to remember is that Crowley will be loaded for bear during the "townhall" debate on domestic and foreign" topics." She will be in charge and she will make sure to throw softballs at Obama and try to eviscerate Romney. He won't be able to control the conversations or the topics in any way. I'm hoping he can pull a rabbit out of a hat, but worried nonetheless. They're really out to get him now.

FTA: This is not Romney's fault. It isn't even Obama's fault. It is the fault of America's leftist liberal media who have continually misled Obama into thinking he would never have to answer to his record.

Say WHAT? Obama is not a child; he's 51 years old. I realize what Lisa Fritsch is trying to say, but the fact is that Obama blew the debate and not the "leftist liberal media."

WOW! Obama is the excellent "wizard of Oz". When the real person pretending to be the wizard appeared on stage, the world saw that he was not who or what they thought he was. I blame the MSM for pushing him on us and then for all of his failures including our economy and the tragic fiasco in Libia.

What Lisa Fritsch points out is that Obama is a creature and creation of the pandering liberal media.
In the debate 'the real Obama did show up' not the fading rockstar that the press had whipped up.

And just like the typical liberal parents that spawned a lying brat, this same useless media will now blame everything under the sun for their rotten childs disaster and claim it wasn't HIS fault, 'Romney cheated' or any other idiosy they can come up with.

It's now the lapdog medias job to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.

obama though John McCain was going to show up and Whoopi Goldberg was going to ask the questions. It was just racist of Romney to win. s/o Someone has been covering obama's butt ever since he entered what he thought was "the real world". Why I don't know. This just might be obama's first taste of reality. He doesn't know what the hell he is doing.

Talk about chickens coming home to roost…

And when those chickens finally departed, it wasn’t chicken salad that they left behind.

More than four years ago, we who instinctively pegged Obama as a fraud are now fully vindicated. In light of the flood of articles written and words spoken about Wednesday evening’s Barack Hussein Obama’s (if that’s his real name) coming-out party, everything is now out in the open and on the table.

Our PINO – president in name only – vividly displayed his most unattractive side as early as Thursday, cravenly mocking Governor Romney in public. Obama revealed his true self, a gutless, adolescent wiseass too ill-prepared to do the job at the appointed time; instead choosing to do it the day after when the pressure of reality had subsided.

Why even concern ourselves anymore with things like his inexplicable Connecticut social security number? Everything about him is phony. He’s simply a corrupt figment of our complicit, lap dog, liberal media’s paper-thin imagination. That’s all he is or ever was.

Old Media has been dishonest, disingenuous, and disloyal to our country, and they CONTINUE to applaud and excuse the America hater in our Oval Office.
.... This is the only United States President who was never vetted by them.

I wonder how many of today's parents recognize themselves here. Too many are ALSO raising spoiled children who are not taught respnsibility or accountability, concerned that they might 'hurt the feelings' of their offspring.
.... This is the era of Little League parents who believe everyone should get a trophy, every kid should be an All Star and that score-keeping should be abolished.

What a difference a few days makes. While hanging out the laundry today, also toying with the thought that Team Romney really does consider this election as a two-front war between good and not so good (ok, evil). Last tuesday, Romney clipped wings of the msm big time and they didn't even realize it until it was over. He then proceeded to peel Obie's political onion further into the debate to reveal the void, it should have become quite evident to all that Obie don't got it..never had it, and never will have it. 0 + 0 +0 = 0. No rounding required. zip, zilch, zero, nada.

Obama may be totally incompetent, but he is also the most dangerous threat this country has ever faced domestically. I hope Gov. Romney is prepared for the next two debates because the knives will be sharpened and out. I have great confidence in the govenor, but I believe we will see a different Obama. This time he will be snarky and full of himself like he has been on the stump this week. He will come ready to perform. All Gov. Romney needs to do is come to debate.

Notice on Friday though - they had Barry back with the adoring fans who swooned at his every word. He'll be back in his bubble until October 16 and will fall to earth again, even if it is a town hall because there will be no teleprompter and the fact that his is just plain dumb! Can't recover that quickly because he does not have the knowledge nor the will to learn.

I have confidence Romney will also be prepared for the ample Candy Crowley and the Town Hall debate, where "undecided" voters ask the questions: "President Obama, first, as a union member, I'd like to thank you for making me a proud owner of GM. How will you continue to protect us from rapacious corporations like Bain Capital?" and "Governor Romney, as a gay illegal immigrant about to undergo an abortion, I'd like to know how you as a rich, unfeeling capitalist and Mormon can empathize with Americans like me?"

I LOVE this - FTA... "Obama simply has not thought through any of his platforms, because he has never needed to."

What we witnessed on Weds night was Zero's inability to explain his own policies. He is an ideologue, a radical leftist re-distribution ideologue. But he has no idea how the application of his own policies look, what effect they will have on society. Because of this, he is completely outmatched by Romney and is scared to death of him.

Don't forget -- the American public saw -- in the millions the "real" obama. Crowley -- as some as concerned -- can only do so much before the public pigeon/holes her performance as a "gotcha/ya" in the next debate....

I have no worries about President Romney. He's a professional. He's gone into many meeting with the tigers and lions. (and in this case -- the lioness)

He's up to the task....

The author referenced something that I have been saying to everyone. When 0bama was caught whispering to Medvedev that he should convey to Putin that "after the election [0bama] will have more flexibility" to remove nukes and missiles from our Eoropean defensive armament, I was chilled to the bone. This needs to be shown in ads over and over and over. What could be scarier than seeing the POTUS telling the Russians that when he is re-elected he will cede to their wishes and castrate the United States?!! With the foreign policy debate looming I hope and pray that this will be publicized far and wide! And Mitt should force zippy to explain what he meant when he said that to Medvedev.

Hillbuzz has some interesting theories about the possibility that 0bama was under the influence of drugs or possibly Parkinsons exacerbated by his cocaine use. They also talk about the Chicago speculation that he has AIDS. Everyone has commented on his skinniness. Even people at his campaign stops ask him how much he weighs. There is no doubt that 0bama was buzzed during the interview with O'Reilly. He was mellllloooooowww.

The LSM has indeed coddled the 0bamessiah.

Her Mama was correct. Nice to hear something from the adults after these 4 years. In short the press has lied and bullied anyone who dares to disagree with anything their precious baby wants. Our economy and Constitutional freedoms have been much like toys to be played with and disgarded after he's broken them. We need an adult, and we saw one on Wednesday night, to take charge. I have seen the parents of many overindulged children blame anyone but their child , only to have the child end up behind bars for anything from a dui to dealing .

Zippy may have been full of himself on the campaign trail yesterday, but I think that he will still blow the remaining debates. His confidence has been badly shaken and he'll have to face Romney in person. His handlers can drill him to death on talking points, but it probably won't matter. Being on the stage with the shining, confident, genuinely smiling Romney will undo him. He's an empty chair and a coward too - devastating combo.

SPOT. ON!

Is it just me? To this minute I cannot say ''President'' and ''Obama'' together. I have trouble even READING the words to myself - and I don't. I tend to skip the ''President'' part and just read the ''Obama'' part. Those words just do not flow out together. It's as if I'm telling a lie myself, just to say them together. I feel dirty afterward.

And I fault the liberal, used-to-be-mainstream media for that. They lied to us on his behalf - WE KNEW they were lying - and they seemed to be proud of it, proud of THEIR BOY. And they have treated him that way - as if he were the product of their own collective loins. 'Don't make him accept any responsibility!' they say. 'It's all George Bush's fault!' they insist.

I am dang sick and tired of hearing that sycophant crowd, seeing those two words - one very important and the other absolutely useless - together as if they have actual meaning and context, and thinking, knowing that THAT is Reality for us, until it's NOT.

I'm not sure who Lisa Fritsch is, but she is now a favorite of mine, having said in published print what I have thought all along. And cheers to her mom too!

''The media has given Obama a false sense of entitlement...'' This is IT in a bumper sticker.

I think even the Obama crowd knew that they had an incompetent child, that it was his skin that would get him elected and, through him, they could try to mold America into what they wanted. Both the media and the White House knew that they had a workable plan. Vetting him would be the last thing they wanted to do.

What they didn't realize is that you need a good quality piece of clay to work with. Otherwise, it crumbles in your fingers and there isn't a thing you can do to fix it. Barry is turning to dust before their eyes.

Obama is already in the process of devastating our military. Besides huge budget cuts, he has already reduced our nuclear arsenal from 5,000 to 1,500 while permitting Iran to pursue their nuclear program unchecked. Valerie Jarrett's fingerprints are all over that and Russia isn't going to argue because they want to see a strong ally in Iran.

Excellent article - must read.

Obama is a Brand; a brand sold to the public by the media. But like a pair of shoes marketed by dazzling graphics and sincere celebrities; they still have to perform. It's not until those shoes, you perceived to be great and just had to have because of marketing, are put to the test and start falling apart, lose traction and hurt your feet, do you realize you've been taken by slick marketing.
There are plenty of people out there that will still vote for him because they are mindless lemmings influenced by the media and their marketing and by the Obama brand.
The debates will help dispel the perception a few have of Obama... but only if they are willing to watch.

The one problem with this article is that Fritsch lets BO off the hook. The man is responsible for is own life, so although the media is complicit, let's point the finger in the right direction.

When O stands before God and tries to blame everyone else, it ain't gonna work! O is responsible for O! Leave it at that.

Compare the debate’s many split screen images of the president refusing to make eye contact with Mitt Romney with the images of the president’s encounter with Medvedev.

I pity the person who has to work out Obama's drug cocktail for the next debate. This time the mix held him for only twenty minutes. The pharmaceutical specialist will have to make sure that it kicks in at the scheduled time (no delays are permitted at the debates as they would be for a speech) and stays with him for the whole 1.5 hours. It will have to allow him to remember all the instructions he has been given about body language, as well as the set of talking points he has had to memorize. And it will have to coordinate properly with the drugs Obama likes to take on a daily basis.

The next Obama/Romney debate should be very interesting.

We watched this spoiled child of permissive parents crumble in their protective absence 90 minutes of no parental protection from reality. Actually we were watching a good responsible dad, talking to a disruptive, spoiled child. A dad who has lovingly dealt with the inevitable lying of a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Playing it back as, good parent, naughty spoiled child, it’s a more beautiful picture. Let this kid out of the house? Imagine the frightening behavior of this child in the presence of political heads of other countries, this spoiled kid talking to the few good leaders, and all the bad communist, fascist, socialist, militaristic dictators of the world. We should not allow this spoiled child to ever leave the country! The Mafia Media is the adoring, unbalanced, “permissive” parent, allowing little Obie to paint on the walls of other people's houses without a single, warning word of caution. American Thinker's Lisa Fritsch. stupidly calls the media "liberal" like most of the good Ann Coulter media does, and the mafia media are sworn to do. "Liberal"?, when it's, "authoritarian", socialistic, communistic! Little, protected Obie, the puppet of all the Soros above him, but most definitely, the Diane Sawyers of TV Media Mafia, the Protection Racket censoring all tales of crime, ruthlessness committed by Little Obie and ALL of greed addicted Washington. Including: Congress, endless bureaucracy, all of Obie's Communist White House comrades, unelected Czars, all grease bribing lobbyists, finally, ALL OF THE INDULUGENCE PROVIDING, PRIVILEGED LAW SEEKING LARGE CORPORATIONS who pay for all lobbying sleaze in Washington, and are the money bags for controlled TV (the same large corporations who sell us the products we buy without questioning or boycotting the source).

Excellent analysis by Ms. Fritsch. She could have added Obama's rackety upbringing by his kooky neo-Stalinist mother and grandparents, his coddling and special handling in three universities, his rather murky but effective political sponsorship by the Chicago Machine after graduation -- Obama was reared with a bad attitude, and then ruined by having had everything handed to him on a silver platter.

Everytime I see Obama in a suit, especially the view from behind during the debate, it reminds me of the Smucker's jelly commercial, where the grandson is wearing his grandfather's coat. Or he could be Tom Hanks in "Big", at the end, when he goes from adult to child, walking down the street in adult clothing. Ok one more-Talking Heads in concert/1980's, wearing the oversized suits.

Bamster needs to get together with a dietician(can afford?) and figure out what's wrong with his diet. He might have Frank Marshall Davis' height but he sure didn't inherit his pudgy body.

Obama has coasted on a free pass his entire life -at least as far as the scanty available documentation demonstrates. There is not a single instance we know of that shows him working hard, accomplishing anything noteworthy, or excelling at anything whatever - with one conspicuous exception.

Talking. Obama is a big talker. We must give him that. But that is all. And he is only a big talker under specific circumstances, namely when in front of a friendly audience and without fear of contradiction. Under those conditions he can talk and talk and talk and talk. He talks a lot better, of course, with a teleprompter to support and guide him. But even without a teleprompter, we cannot deny that the man can talk up a storm - as long as he does not have to fear being challenged.

He is a preacher whose god is the State, whose logos is himself, and whose heaven is a socialist utopia. He delivers sermons to an adoring congregation eager to engage in the call-and-response dynamic of traditional Black, African-derived preaching. One can read the "Amen, preacher!" and "Mmm=hmmm!" responses in the misty eyed looks and cheers of his white worshipers.

But the salient fact to keep in mind is that Barack Obama has never actually accomplished anything on his own during his entire life. Everything has been given to him - perhaps, indeed, even at times forced on him. He has never been allowed to fail. He has never developed the character that comes from hard work followed by failure.

The calamitous debate with Mitt Romney is undoubtedly the first time in his life that Barack Obama has ever been truly tried. He was tried - and he was found wanting.

Great comments on an excellent article.

#26 and others, please call or contact Romney headquarters and ask Romney to make sure this point is made during the For. Pol. issues debate. We all must do this.

Some time ago, after watching media spin, bob and weave to reinterpret BO, explain away, excuse, or otherwise protect BO from negative evaluations, i said to Hubby, "They are treating him like a little boy. That OUGHT to be insulting, to be treated like a boy and not a MAN."

And so we have seen this fawning and incessant coddling of BO. He has apparently never had to accept responsibility for anything of significance. Even his wife is more assertive and domineering than he is.

The media has helped to create this papier mache figurehead, has tried to deify it, has sustained it in the face of hard truth and stark reality.

Now we as a Nation suffer under all the pretensions. Indeed, the entire world suffers. The USA used to be the Grown-up in the international arena, the only country where socialism, the ultimate pablum, had not rendered the people infantile.

Leftism promotes childishness and perpetual immaturity, with its promise that there will be no suffering, no hardship, no sickness, no struggle. Can we ever forget the "ponytail guy" (per Rush) who asked candidate Bill Clinton, how he would take care of him?

BO is the perfect candidate for Utopia, which, as reality proves, does NOT exist.

Obama isn't worried, though. All he has to do is cram the three years and nine months worth of briefings and other serious information he blew off knowing, and have clever answers plus deflections for bad happenings in areas inside our sphere of influence.

The style almost handles itself. He just needs to keep his chin elevated to Il Duce heights, grin, and chuckle condescendingly at Romney's explanations. Piece of cake for any community organizer worth his well-creased slacks.

I agree with no. 33. I refuse to use the word President with this fraud. I said from day one he is not my President, and never will be. But I think what we saw in the debate was the answer to our many prayers. We saw GOD intervene on our behalf. I have said all along we are going to need Divine intervention in this election so keep praying folks, because we have stirred up Satan.

Right on target. He has not been tried through fire like every other person who has dared run for the highest office in the land. He was not prepared to hear the truth. Back on the campaign trail his response, "this is not like dancing with the stars" tells it all. No matter how his handlers and money men tried to spruce him up and push him into the spotlight, he is not qualified. Had the media vetted properly, this country would perhaps be in a different situation today. The MSM as gatekeepers of the truth failed and failed miserably never to be trusted again.

The gatekeepers of truth in this country...the MSM, not only let Obama down but they failed to protect truth. Somewhat like watching the making of a puppet. It's handler forms it in his hands, dresses it, speaks through its mouth. When put on a stage where it was not the words of the familiar puppeteer rolling past his face...he became rattled as he has been speaking the facts of others. Those facts were not a part of his own wooden heart and therefore had no voice of is own without reading the words of others. His handlers strings dropped to the floor behind him...he was pushed on stage with no backup, no adoring cheering fans to distract his struggling words. It has been a lie, and the MSM fell for it hook, line and sinker. The only thing he and his handlers can do now is call the one who was self made, knows his plans in his heart and can explain them every opportunity he gets...a liar.

Regarding the comment at #48, yes .... John McCain totally blew it. Then, his handlers gathered in a room and decided to blame Sarah Palin for the subsequent loss.

I heard McCain comment on the radio the day after this debate. He said something along the lines of, 'Don't get your hopes up. Obama will be back.'
.... McCain, during HIS presidential debate, performed like Obama did in Wednesday night.

Activities to which you have devoted your time and your passion define you. These activities might be your vocation or they might be your avocation, but you have spent most of your life mastering them. Performing what you're passionate about in front of others is what you feel you were put on this earth to do. You're comfortable because you're in your milieu. It's where you belong. You didn't need to spend days cramming facts into your brain then regurgitating them because you're a confident pro. You just are.

But what can you say about one who isn't, about one who never was? Obama utterly failed in the Denver debate because there's never been anything about him that was truly real. He didn't belong on that stage. He's been a fake for his entire life, the ultimate affirmative action beneficiary who was kicked further upstairs than any other human being in this age. He never would have made it beyond his mau-mauing community organizing identity without a wholly complicit, terminally mendacious Legacy Media that deserves the same political and professional death that he's about to experience. It couldn't happen to a more deserving dolt. Sayonara.

FTA, But the real Obama did show up. It was Obama in the flesh, without the benefit of media airbrushing and highlights. The true Obama and his A-game were revealed -- no teleprompter, and no softball questions pitched exactly to the left of the plate, where Obama likes them. Obama was unguarded and unprotected by the media, leaving him to face his kryptonite: accountability.

Love the conclusion, succinct and on point. A+ Lisa!

I don't think Obama is stupid. He is just not anywhere as brilliant as his handlers have presented him to be. I think he is of average intelligence. Yes, he is the product of false narrative and hype. He would have been an average non-achiever if he hadn't had certain help from people of influence over the years. This is why he has so much contempt for those who are great achievers. At any rate, he, on his own, is no contest for Romney. The only reason he has been such a tough contender is because he has so many people propping him up.

Obama is going to lose the next debates and whatever they have to show us what the character of each candidate is.

Mitt is doing great. He was prepared, he practiced, and I have to admit he looked pretty presidential and most especially, healthy. Even his knowledge was presidential.

Why can't Obama measure up? Well, we know that the press never bothered to vet him nor do they bother to keep him sharp and engaged. We also suspect that Obama doesn't bother to go to the Oval Office much as word has leaked out of the WH that he spends most of his time in his upstairs office watching ESPN dressed in his sweats and smoking. That could possibley inclued substances that are illegal. Who's running the show? Well that would be Valerie and Michelle. He's abdicated the job to his wife and advisor.

It's no wonder that he couldn't debate. He doesn't know what is going on. He does campaign, but even that isn't going so well. Platitudes is about all those audiences get from him. He was so ill-prepared for this job and never did a thing to do what needed to be done. 4 years of deconstruction.

There is a good deal of nonsense to this article.

WE, reading and commenting on this thread did NOT get roped in by the enabling Media.
WE, reading and commenting on this thread quite likely did our OWN homework on Obama, and discovered that the guy was a closet Socialist.
SURE, he was attractive and well-spoken, fortunately not being required to defend specific actions and activities... just desires and wishes. (The sophomoric hopey-changey thing).

So THE MEDIA is to blame for the majority of the American people being irresponsible with their vote? Voting for someone with no real knowledge of what he has done in the past?

THE MEDIA??????

Since when do Americans let other people do their thinking for them? Here I always thought that Europeans see Americans as rough-and-ready individualists who pride themselves on thinking for themselves.

The Media, guilty as they are for not doing their Fourth Estate job, did not march into the voting booth with ANY voter and do the actual voting.

No... It IS Obama's fault - first and foremost. And, yes... it is (secondarily) the fault of 'America's leftist liberal media, etc.'

Obama, more than Romney, should not need debate prep. He's been in office since 2009 and if he'd been paying any attention to the details of his job, he'd have the facts on the tip of his tongue.

He's been AWOL and his minions have been busy ruining everything they can, so not only does he not know the details, but he knows that it has been a debacle for the rest of us. Of course he will stumble.

Early on in the Genesis chapter of the Bible much is made of Adam giving names to all living creatures. Like everything about the Bible, the meaning of this event is subject to many interpretations, the most often given is that it signals man’s dominion over the other creatures of the earth. I don’t dispute that reading, but to me, the naming description signifies that there can be no real communication among people unless the names we use mean the same thing to all of us. A spade certainly is a garden implement, but if you are in the gardening

The “I’m shocked, shocked” line from Casablanca is too much a cliché to carry any -- umm -- shock value, but surely it fits Putin’s actions against Ukraine. But the civilized world, mainly the Anglosphere, has long shown its utter indifference to human life by ignoring mass killings on a scale surpassed only by the Nazis and the Communists in the last century. More than a hundred thousand in Syria and still going on; perhaps a million or more in North Korea; millions in Africa, uncounted tens of thousands or more in Iran. Contradicting the faultless, albeit far-fetched image he has of himself, Barack Obama is a man harassed by truth. That´s why, judging from his inability to accept personal responsibility, Barack Obama must be living in a constant state of agitated cognitive dissonance. The late Leon Festinger is the social psychologist who proposed the theory of cognitive dissonance. According to Festinger, until the person suffering with perceptual disharmony can find a way to justify wrong actions and decisions, it´s impossible to achieve a calm mental state, especially when those wrong actions and decisions challenge the way the cognitively dissonant individual sees himself.

Earlier this week on Boston’s WRKO-AM’s The Howie Carr Show, conservative commentator Ann Coulter shocked some conservatives when she said she is making 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney her favorite for the 2016 Republican contest. Last month in an interview on CBS’s Face the Nation, Romney himself ruled out the possibility of a 2016 run and said he was instead focused on who to get behind in that contest. Coulter, however, wishes otherwise. “Well, don´t tell him but I´m planning on giving Mitt Romney a little more time to rest -- flying out, kidnapping him and depriving him of sleep, food and

Do you think members of Congress are overpaid or underpaid? Most likely you’d go with the former, but Democratic congressman Jim Moran argues it’s actually the latter. In an interview with CQ Roll Call, Moran says, “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid.” The House recently took up a bill to freeze members’ paychecks, placing another halt on the annual cost-of-living pay increases they would normally get and keeping annual salary at $174,000. Moran believes that this is the wrong way to go, not necessarily talking about himself in particular, but saying there

The human kindling that makes up the flammable Republican base may soon burst into flames, again. Portions of that excitable cohort are looking — some with fawn-like eyes filled with hurt, others with sparks shooting from eyes narrowed like gun slits — askance at other Republicans urging Jeb Bush to seek the 2016 presidential nomination. A candidacy by Florida’s former governor would be desirable. But if Republicans want to avoid intra-party carnage, they should be very careful about doing what The Post recently reported: “Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft

According to a report via BuzzFeed’s Evan McMorris-Santoro, President Barack Obama requested the opportunity to address the nation in prime time on the major broadcast networks on Tuesday night to announce that the Affordable Care Act had reached 7 million enrollees. Those networks did not, however, accommodate the White House’s request. “Three sources familiar with the request confirmed the White House asked for the prime time slot in their effort both to emphasize a bright moment following the challenging roll out and, more important, to try to reintroduce the country to a law that remains unpopular,”

President Barack Obama contended that the government did not “make a hard sell” for Obamacare, despite his administration spending nearly $700 million to promote the law. “We didn’t make a hard sell,” Obama said in the Rose Garden on Tuesday, praising the 7.1 million sign ups for the Affordable Care Act. “We didn’t have billions of dollars of commercials like some critics did.” However, last July the Associated Press reported that Obamacare’s marketing campaign would cost at least $684 million. Taxpayer funding went to all 50 states in efforts to encourage people to enroll, including nearly $28 million for the

At a press conference to push legislation to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) criticized industrialists David and Charles Koch, calling them “shadow billionaires” who use their wealth to “rig our political system.” Reid’s sharp comments come on a day when the Wall Street Journal published a commentary written by Charles Koch, in which he described the brothers’ decision to get involved in politics to preserve the individual freedom and free markets that he said are the pillars of the American republic. “These two men are a pair of shadow billionaires spending
