Denver restaurant owners get death
threats over Romney refusal

Fox News (Denver), by Will C. Holden

Original Article

Posted By:Maryland_Patriot, 10/5/2012 4:22:27 PM

Denver — When the owners of a Denver Mexican restaurant turned down an offer to host a Mitt Romney campaign stop, they never envisioned their lives would be threatening because of it. But Oscar Aguirre said that’s exactly what has happened. Aguirre owns Rosa Linda’s Mexican Cafe, which is located in the heart of Denver’s Highland neighborhood at 2005 West 33rd Avenue, with his parents. He said the Romney campaign reached out to his restaurant in August at least partly due to the fact that his parents are Mormon.

Such fools deserve to be destitute and reduced to begging with tin cups, but embracing Obama while shunning Romney should not be considered a death penalty offense. Just an error in business judgment.

What does this say about their customer base? I would never stop going to a restaurant I liked simply because Obama chose to eat there. Restaurants are businesses. They serve customers. Do they want to vet every person who comes in the door? Most people have a political leaning. In the mature world, we should be able to accept that.

And seriously...a death threat? Come on. They need to be recording the calls if its really that bad.

I'm thinking after he publicly stated he didn't want Romney to come, he heard from people telling him that if Romney wasn't welcome they weren't coming either. Then he needed to make up a story that might convince those disaffected customers that he's a victim.

I read a story about this restaurant yesterday, and there was no death threat mentioned ... but that he had $120 order cancelled when the customer heard he turned down Romney's visit.

I'd assume the "death threat" was a bit more serious and would have been reported in the other article.

But - it is possible Axelrod could have threatened him. It sounds like a Chicago tactic.

This has most likely turned into a Democrat dirty trick.

When you serve one presidential candidate and then shut out the other one publicly, you are affectively telling about 47% of your prospective customers that they also are not welcome. That's the choice the businessman gets to make, as he and his parents own the restaurant, and as such can refuse service to anyone.

Why didn't they just keep their mouth shut if they wanted to stay out of the political realm? They were asked they said no that's it. They were the ones who broadcast what they did for what reason, to get customers, to get noticed. This just has a smell about it and I don't think the Romney campaign had anything to do with it.

Here is what the article said:

When Rosa Linda’s went public with its desire to stay out of the political realm, Aguirre said the hate mail starting pouring in.

“We have been getting hate emails from people across the country, people sending us death threats and people calling us telling us we are racist,” Aguirre wrote. “That they hope we go out of business.”

Prove it. Share the "hate emails", the "death threats" with the police. I dare you.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has said his country has "gone nuclear" and ordered officials to "speedily" launch five more reactors. Ahmadinejad was speaking at a ceremony to mark Nuclear Technology Day, as well as launch two uranium mines and a yellow cake production plant in the city of Yazd. The controversial president once again made clear that Iran has every right to pursue its nuclear programme, even though the western powers believe it is a covert mission to produce atomic weapons. In a veiled remark to the US, Ahmadinejad said Iran has already become a "nuclear country"
