Left and Right Come Together
to Slam Obama’s Bomb of a
Night (and Lehrer)

PJ Media, by Bridget Johnson

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 10/4/2012 12:23:42 PM

The first 2012 presidential debate won’t be remembered for any bombastic lines in the vein of Ronald Reagan or Lloyd Bentsen, or the perspiration visual of Richard Nixon. In fact, the most-talked about takeaways from the evening will most likely be Big Bird and Jim Lehrer — both of whom had parody Twitter accounts and thousands of followers before the 90-minute debate even ended. But tonight’s debate had even liberal pundits complaining about the performance of the president. “I can’t even follow him half the time. Either exhausted, over-briefed … or just flailing. He’s throwing debate away,” tweeted Andrew Sullivan

Exhausted? Yeah, must have been really draining to have stayed in a taxpayer-funded 5-star resort for three days prior.

Over-briefed? No, pResident said it was "a drag", and likely played plenty of hooky from debate prep AND his daily intel briefings.

Just flailing? Now you've got it. I swear, he spent nearly half his talking by falsely defining Romney's plans, rather than talking up his own. Gee, I wonder why he'd do that....?!?

Today Obama is campaigning again and "using" his teleprompter. We need to know who writes what he reads. It is not a part of him as we found out last night.

No teleprompter - no applause!

No one should be surprised by barack's performance. He has not been tested by the media for the past 4 years, and is always peculiarly aloof.
Remember when the stimulus bill was passed in February, 2009? Barack said it had to be done immediately to save the economy.
But when the bill was taken to the oval office, barack took off with michelle to chicago, for a valentine's day weekend.
He signed the bill the following monday.
That was a thumb in the eye of the american people. He likes to show disdain for us.

And that strafing run on NY city with Air Force One? Another sign of disdain.

Lehrer did a better job than I thought he would. The Left is blaming the messenger for Obama`s poor performance. When you don`t do your homework you get a F. If Barack had cleaned Romney`s clock we would not have heard Lehrer`s name today.

From Michael Barone's piece on this debate:

Obama suffered tonight from his lack of scrutiny from mainstream media. As I like to say, there is nothing free in politics, but there is some question about when you pay the price. In this first debate Obama paid the price for the hands-off treatment he has received from mainstream media. His talking points, advanced by his spokesmen in the confidence that they will not be seriously challenged, were refuted by an energized and articulated and well-informed Mitt Romney. He stood there petulantly and pathetically, nonplussed by the fact that his flimsy talking points were effectively challenged.

There you are.

We have heard from Ulsterman's White House Insider that he holes up with the big-screen telly in his "office" upstairs, away from the Oval Office, watching sports events; has a desk there that is littered with celebrity magazines like Parade; and entertains those who would speak with him for 15 minutes max. He doesn't attend the daily briefings. His aides, I'll bet, never criticize this thinskinned petulant man because to do so would bring down his wrath. And the media has left him alone for more than five years. And so....all he has is his talking points, written by others, and nowhere to run if they don't fit (as they often did not last night).

When President Obama announced “My Brother’s Keeper” Thursday, he identified school discipline reform as one key to supporting the success of young men of color. School suspensions and expulsions, which occur more often among black and Latino boys, make dropping out of school – and the host of risk factors that come with that – more likely. “My administration has been working with schools on alternatives to the so-called zero-tolerance guidelines – not because teachers or administrators or fellow students should have to put up with bad behavior, but because there are ways to modify bad behavior that lead to

WASHINGTON — President Obama spoke in unusually personal terms at the White House on Thursday about how he got high as a teenager and was at times indifferent to school as he deplored what he called America’s numbness to the plight of young black men. Drawing on the power of his own racial identity in a way he seldom does as president, Mr. Obama sought to connect his personal narrative about growing up without a father to that of a generation of black youth in the United States who he said faced higher odds of failure than their peers.
