It is going to get worse for Obama. They have to debate foreign policy, where Obama has one positive and 1/2 billion negatives; furthermore, today GE, run by one of Obama's
business buddies Mr immelt, who was on the Council to create jobs, announced that they are taking steps to reduce Healthcare and Insurance coverage for certain groups of employees, and down the road, possibly all employees. Article on front page of Oct 4 Daily Gazette in Schenectady, NY where GE was born. Obamacare hits home !!

At the risk of nitpicking, Simon undermines his own thesis late in the piece (liberalism will be back).
On a macro level, I believe the sort of empty-headed liberalism that drives us all mad is a mostly generational phenomenon. Those who grew up proudly in Reagan's America are now assuming the seats of power. Sadly it will take more than an election and a few more years of nonsense but the tide has only begun to turn.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.
