The middle class is being buried by the constant focus placed on the "poor" (you can take that as a code word if you wish) every election cycle. It's obvious that a bottom up recovery is an oxymoron and only a moron would think the economy works that way. Only when the focus really does pivot to allowing the employers to employ and the producers to produce will an actual recovery begin.

Gibbs has it backwards. The middle class is buried by the four years of the Mulatto Kid that have seen the worst economy in memory, a jobless recovery or really no recovery, high unemployment and on and on. It can all be laid at the feet of the Chief-Seatwarmer who spends more time flying around and playing golf than he spends taking care of business.
Who would want four more years of such ineptitude?

PHILADELPHIA— It happened again. As soon as the warm weather hit, a large group of students in Center City caused a ruckus, endangered themselves, police and pedestrians. The Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office has charged 10 juveniles with Conspiracy, Obstructing Highways, Failure to Disperse and Disorderly Conduct. All 10 defendants are scheduled for a detention hearing Wednesday at the Youth Studies Center in Philadelphia. Four other teens were also arrested by Philadelphia Police on Tuesday evening, and they are currently being processed by police.

The U.S. Postal Service on Wednesday said it will delay a cost-cutting plan to end Saturday mail delivery, following congressional action that blocked the effort. Congress passed a temporary federal spending bill last month including language that prevents the agency -- which lost $15.9 billion last year -- from going to a Monday-to-Friday mail delivery schedule. President Obama´s budget plan would increase taxes by $580 billion over the next decade, but it relies on many proposals that have been repeatedly rejected by Congress. Some were rejected as recently as January, when Congress voted to make permanent a series of tax cuts first enacted under President George W. Bush. Among them, a proposal to limit itemized deductions for high-income families. One new proposal is a 94 cents-a-pack increase in the cigarette tax. The tax would raise an estimated $78 billion over the next decade to pay for early childhood education.

A new CNN/ORC International poll found President Obama´s overall approval rating has ticked up to 51 percent but ratings have fallen on his handling of the key issues on his agenda: immigration, guns, and the deficit. In a stunning end to one of the most aggressively unsuccessful tenures in retail history, JCPenney (JCP) last night announced that CEO Ron Johnson would be leaving effective immediately. Myron Ullman, Johnson´s predecessor at JCPenney, takes office as CEO. When Johnson was initially wooed by JCPenney, it was to serve as CEO with Ullman as Chairman. In January 2012, Ullman was unceremoniously removed from the board. Gone with Ullman was any control the Board of Directors had over Ron Johnson and his control of JCPenney resources.
