Craig County man defends
Obama mask on monkey
as free speech

WSLS 10 (Roanoke, VA), by Scott Leamon

Original Article

Posted By:Scottyboy, 10/1/2012 7:15:23 PM

Curtis Caldwell said he understands why some people find his statue of a monkey wearing a mask of President Obama offensive. Caldwell said however it's his right to free speech to display it. "If I would've had a kangaroo I would've used a kangaroo instead of a monkey," Caldwell said. Several people who saw the display on Caldwell's property contacted WSLS 10 with their concerns. "I know some neighbors won't like it," Caldwell said. "I have friends in San Francisco I know would hate it but that's too bad." "I'll say what I wish," Caldwell said.

So....what's the problem ?

Free Speech is only meaningful if it protects speech that some find disagreeable.

Even if the statue was that of an angel,
the fact that the homeowner dared to publicly display disapproval of
Obama now guarantees a visit from " The Authorities ".
At least an empty lawn chair wasn't involved.
That usually involves a more menacing visit from the DOJ.
The homeowner is unrepentant and confidant
of his right to free speech
( for now ), which is refreshing.

The left-wing cartoonists drew a lot of cartoons showing Bush as a Chimpanzee when he was in office. There were placards at protests showing him with crosshairs on his face and blood dripping off his hands. Some of the most vile things you can imagine and the MSM said nothing.

First amendment they said. Well, suck it up and deal with it, liberals. You don't have the credibility to be offended by this.

The U.S. has been denied direct access to the only publicly known suspect in custody in connection with the Benghazi terror attack, Fox News has learned, with U.S. interrogators still unable to sit in the same room as the Egypt-held prisoner to ask questions. Abu Ahmed, also known as Mohammed Jamal, is suspected of establishing Islamist training camps in Eastern Libya where militants who took part in the Sept. 11 Benghazi terrorist attack were able to train. Ahmed is not suspected of directly taking part in the attack which left four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens, dead.

For the past five months, the Republican message on foreign policy message has been defined by a single word: Benghazi. Ever since the deadly September 11 attack on the U.S. compound in that Libyan city, Republicans have obsessed over the episode. More recently, Republicans have invoked Benghazi to shoot down one would-be cabinet nominee, Susan Rice, and delay two others, Chuck Hagel and John Brennan. TIMBUKTU, Mali - One of the last things the bearded fighters did before leaving this city was to drive to the market where traders lay their carpets out in the sand. The al-Qaida extremists bypassed the brightly-colored, high-end synthetic floor coverings and stopped their pickup truck in front of a man selling more modest mats woven from desert grass, priced at $1.40 apiece. There they bought two bales of 25 mats each, and asked him to bundle them on top of the car, along with a stack of sticks.

But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank
