| In February 2008 I met American friends in New York at a diner in downtown Manhattan. It was two days after Super Tuesday and the couple had just flown in from Los Angeles, where they live. Over omelettes and sourdough toast we discussed the results of the Democrat primaries that had seen Barack Obama narrow the gap against his rival Hillary Clinton. My Californian friends were buzzing with excitement at the prospect of the young senator making it to the White House to redeem America's reputation, which had been badly damaged by the incumbent president.

If Ms. Coleman and her friends realized that 0bama's path to the White House was paved by a relentless eight year campaign of smears and lies against Bush/Cheney perpetrated by the MSM and other anti-American leftists, she might just have a clue as to why she is so disappointed. And if she listened to conservatives screaming at the top of their lungs that 0bama was an incompetent radical back in 2008, that could have been her second clue. These people make me sick.

Karen Coleman (who wrote this article) and her California friends were delusional. They now see the error of their ways, but along the way missed the fact that Hillary Clinton, aside from being every bit as mendacious as Obit, is to the left of Obit in her Alinskyite politics, if that is possible.
The Clintons had their chance. They were a disaster for this country. He is largely responsible for the mortgage disaster that zapped our economy, and her Alinsky worship tried to bring us all kinds of revolutionary changes.

#6 - You are wrong, respectfully, of course. If obama loses 2% in each demographic, he loses the election; young college grads, blacks, hispanics, elderly, Jewish, single women. I don't think he can garner more votes from the entitlement crowd than he did last time.

The press - the US and the Irish - continues to push the meme that Romney makes these terrible gaffes and has had a terrible September. In reality, it is Obama who has had a terrible September - the Arab craziness and the GNP collapse - essentially the collapse of both his foreign and domestic policies.
The public has yet to compare Romney and Obama - but they will during the debates. Not so much will they hear clever debating but rather they will get to measure each man - mannerisms, authenticity, etc. It is only after this campaign rite of passage will we see who is going to win the election. I am still convinced that it will be Romney.

But his base is still voting for him. I am on an email list with a bunch of liberal women. They complain about his continuation of the Afghan war, etc., but still plan to vote for him. For these people, being a Democrat is their religion. They would literally follow their party leaders off the cliff rather than vote Republican. The issues don't matter. They view the Democrats as smarter morally superior people who want to help the poor and the working classes (through higher taxes if necessary) and the Republicans as evil monsters who want to leave poor black children without food or shelter and force women to have back-alley abortions while helping their rich corporate friends get richer. Logic and facts do not sway them.

WASHINGTON — Attorney General Eric Holder, the nation´s chief law enforcement officer, returned to the courthouse where he once served as a judge, this time in the role of prospective juror performing his civic duty. The Justice Department said Holder wasn´t chosen and that he won´t be called back. Had he been selected for the jury Tuesday, the attorney general would have been on a panel hearing an armed robbery case. An Ohio woman filed a $25,000 lawsuit against her employer, alleging she was fired for voting for President Obama. Patricia Kunkle of Kettering, Ohio, claimed that Dayton-based Q-Mark, Inc., threatened to fire employees of the defense contractor if Obama won re-election, with the president’s supporters to be the first to receive pink slips, the Dayton Daily News reported. Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise.
