| That Universal Service Fee we pay as part of our phone bill each month has helped double the number of "free Obamaphones" in the hands of people in Ohio since last year to more than 1 million. While the mainstream media has ignored this story, the Ohio press is covering it. Maybe interest in the You Tube rant of the now infampus Obamaphone Lady, now at 2.2 million views in three days, will help get out the story of how this program skyrocketed in a key swing state.

How many votes are being bought by this swindle using the government rolls of welfare recipients? Is it now considered a "right" to have cell phone service?
Which companies are being given the money to provide "service" and get the government patronage to pay for the minutes each month?
Sounds like an idea full of corruption and one which allows the Faroah's regime to pick the winners and losers!

The voter registration deadline is rapidly approaching in Indiana so be sure all your potential gop voters in your circle are registered and have proper id.
I've heard in some states all you had to do was say you want to vote on election day but Indiana requires 30 day advance registration and a picture id at the poll.

a cellphone reseller or carrier owns the web site.
This "Tax" (because it really is a tax) was originally for getting landline phones to those in rural areas, where it was to costly for the local telephone company to run wires.
Then is was for subsidizing the poor to get them a phone for emergencies.
Enter the cell industry, and internet.
Now this program subsidizes internet to your local school, and giving FREE phones to anyone that wants them.
The agency that watches over this has continued to expand the program, BECAUSE, as any government agency, the more people you serve, and the more money you give out, the more POWER you control !!!!!
The same goes for all those Social program agencies, like housing and welfare. They have even put ads out, SEEKING people to come and sign up !!!!
It was to have been ONE phone per household, but it wasn't watched over.
NOTE: That any (digital) Cell phone, even if, it is turned off by the phone carrier, can still call 911 for emergencies
(that was a mandate by the FCC long time ago)
Why do you need to pay them to have a phone for EMERGENCIES ???

Went to the web site and found that I am eligible for one. Silly me, I have a Trac phone and it took two years for me to use 700 minutes, still have almost 300 minutes left. What a fool am I.

For a clue as to what may be motivating the North Korean regime´s recent provocations, one need look no further than Kim Jong-Un´s American counterpart in the Dear Leader deification sweepstakes. If our major media were not fully committed propagandists, they would report the findings of a large scale survey of law enforcement personnel on the subject of further gun legislation. After all, they are currently following the President´s strategy of distracting the public from the awful state of the economy by exploiting the victims of Newtown to push for further erosion of Second Amendment rights. So the views of law enforcement personnel ought ot be of some interest. But of course the results are dramatic

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

It´s one thing for President Obama to be cocky and overstate his prowess at governing. People are used to politicians grabbing credit, and besides, you can always rationalize when it comes to explaining why things didn´t quite work out as you claimed they would - "the sequester ate my recovery" being the latest successful-enough example. But sports is something else. The basketball either goes through the hoop or it doesn´t. That´s why President Obama´s history of braggadocio regarding his prowess at hoops is having a potent effect on his overall public image, especially with those who are favorably inclined to him.

During his two day flurry of fundraising in Northern California, the President of the United States took it upon himself (and allow to be released to the public - not all of his fundraising comments make it to the masses) to praise the attractiveness of Kamala Harris, California Attorney General (snip) The remark, predictably, generated a little of what Allahpundit called a ´Blue on blue food fight." I suspect that was the intention. The president´s image as a manly man took a beating when he missed 20 of 22 basketball shots, all recorded on video.

Only one of my six children has left New York for economic reasons but the strain of living in this expensive nanny state is weighing heavy on my other five and their families. As a native New Yorker, I´ve seen its middle class population decline over the years due to its neglect of blue collar families which is ironic since this is a Democrat city. With the recent arrests of several local politicians for corruption perhaps New Yorkers will pay more attention to those they put in office. Given their past indifference in local elections this is highly unlikely.

LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Winters, the cherub-faced comedian whose breakneck improvisations and misfit characters inspired the likes of Robin Williams and Jim Carrey, has died. He was 87. The Ohio native died Thursday evening at his Montecito, Calif., home of natural causes, said Joe Petro III, a longtime family friend. Petro said Winters died of natural causes and was surrounded by family and friends. Winters was a pioneer of improvisational standup comedy, with an exceptional gift for mimicry, a grab bag of eccentric personalities and a bottomless reservoir of creative energy.

I’ve been writing about media coverage of abortion for many years. And so have many others. If you haven’t read David Shaw’s “Abortion Bias Seeps Into The News,” published in the Los Angeles Times back in 1990, you should.
