A civilian police officer at Fort Hood whose shots stopped a killer’s rampage is a member of a special reaction team and a weapons expert who probably saved lives with her response, officials say. The officer, Kimberly Munley, 35, was hospitalized and in stable condition yesterday after suffering gunshots to the wrist and legs when she exchanged fire Nov. 5 with the suspect, U.S. Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan.(Snip) “She eliminated the threat. Margot is a good friend. She always does excellent reporting. Good conservative girl, too.

FTA: "Medley said the civilian police and fire departments on the base began receiving 911 emergency calls about 1:23 p.m. local time. Munley was in the vicinity, and by 1:27, she had engaged the suspect with her own weapon."

Nice work taking out the trash, but had someone been armed in that roomful of potential victims, I doubt it would have taken 3 or 4 minutes to return fire.

And what the heck is a "semi-automatic machine pistol?" Overactive imaginations at Bloomberg?

One thing this incident might do is kill the push for open gays in the military. All this shows is the militrary is no place for social experiments and being pilitally correct. The job of the military is to blow things up and kill people not to address petty gripes by all these sub groups. At the same time the miltary has cracked down on Christian chaplins becase of ACLU lawsuits, muslims can get thier daily dose of rabble rousing at the local mosque.

We're losing in Afghanistan because of idiotic rules of engagement which is keeping the soldiers from doing their job.

There were a lot of lives wasted in Iraq also because of the failure to address roadside bombs. The smartest country in the world can't figure out how the detonate these things from a distance.
