to attack party moderates

Washington Examiner, by Byron York

A few days ago, the left-wing activist group MoveOn.org began sending out emails seeking contributions to fund primary challenges against any Democratic senator who does not fully support "health care reform with a public option." Now there's an update: MoveOn executive director Justin Ruben says the group has raised $3,578,117 for the project and is thinking of new ways to punish errant Democratic lawmakers.

This is chump change compared to what this nation will do to them if they vote for the disgusting affront to our freedoms, the Health Care Bill. Americans across this country will support Conservative candidates against these tyrants. You add up all THAT money and 3.6 million is nothing. I personally will donate to candidates outside of my district to help conservative candidates. No more sitting on the sidelines for me....never again.

I might support this group. Nothing like a good demo primary fight to ensure the pubbie victory

HUH? There is a civil war going on among the Democrats? Just a couple of days ago all I heard from the left was crowing about the civil war among the Republicans. What a swing in a matter of days. Maybe the punishment for any Dem they are targeting will be to vote for the Republican candidate.

Yeah the GOP is skewered for not allowing moderates in their party but you won't hear about the left's hatred of theirs. The bottom line to all this is the partisan divide has grown since Obama was elected after he pitched himself as a unifier. This country is such a rudderless ship right now, nothing but bad things can happen. The wave of multiculturalism swept through the military and now we have a bunch of dead servicemen.

This is what you get when you allow a FOREIGN MILLIONAIR to give campaign money to a US Member of Congress. Soros has given so much money to those members, he how OWNS them. So, now they're between a rock and a hard place. If they go against him, he will try to ruin them. If they go with him, they will lose their Seats in the next election. Isn't it great to be a DEMOCRAT under a MARXIST ruler and SPEAKER of the House!

What's a poor "moderate" dem to do?
Vote against the bill and face the wrath of MoveOn.
Or -
Vote for the bill and face the wrath of the voters.

Are the Obama bullies threatening and intimidating politicians who do not *fall in line* for government tyranny? You betcha!

Are there politicians who will stand against them anyway? You betcha! We.re just beginning to see some political backbone, and I believe it will grow strong against the Marxism this administration promotes. A sitting United States president is USING and thoroughly ABUSING the Oval Office more than any predecessor in the history of these United States of America.
Obama is a bully, who promotes thuggery.
Pelosi is a bully tho threatens members of Congress.
The term *bully* defines ACORN, and we are watching rapper mentality become the rule.

I would not be surprised to learn that our lawmakers are receiving photo's of children and grandchildren in the mail. THAT is how the mob works. And rest assured ..... this is *the Mob.*

It occurs to me that the "Blue Dog" democrats were a large part of the reason that we have to call Nancy Pelosi, Madame Speaker. What if they decided to defect... Hmmmmm???

I hear you, #1. I've sent quite a few donations over the past few months to different conservatives' campaigns. Many of my donations have been acknowledged and I send again to the ones who respond. None of them has sneered because of the dollar amount. Like the TV preachers intone, No Gift is Too Small. Its just my way of saying I believe in you and your ideas.

Will the "my Daddy was a Democrat so I'm a Democrat" crowd ever admit that the Democrat Party has been hijacked by the Democratic Socialists?
Will they ever see that they are supporting totalitarianism for America?
Socialism/Communism impoverishes and weakens. Islamists love the prospect.

What this portends, as I see it, is that both Parties are realigning according to ideology, leaving the "moderates" out.

MoveOn executive director Justin Ruben says the group has raised $3,578,117 for the project and is thinking of new ways to punish errant Democratic lawmakers.

"Errant" means rank and file Democrats, not far Leftists, which is what moveon.org is, what Pelosi is, Obama and his entire Administration. They are weeding out impurities.

I suggest we do likewise. The difference is that if the GOP does it, it expands freedom for all Americans. If the Democrats do it, it contracts the freedom of all.

We do not need the McCains and anyone who will not stand up for staunch fiscal conservatism and only slightly less staunch social conservativism.

We can be a Party of strong conservatives without making the abortion issue the topmost plank in the Party. If we can do that, it will scare the living poop out of the Democrat Party, make the GOP unbeatable and we can all have our country back.

Where are all the LSM articles heralding the split within the dim party? I thought it was just the R's.

I wonder if the possible new third party won't be an extreme party, but a right of center, fiscally conservative but traditional (read that 50's) liberal. To the left of many of us here, but, in todays LSM lingo, still extremist.

Carving out a place and giving home to the middle, the 'unwanted moderates' of both parties, particularly hanging the far left out to dry, could make for a bigger political change than having a strong right emerge out of the R rubble.

I like #2's idea of sending money to help them attack the moderates. This is my idea of evil conservatives at work, helping democrats destroy their own.

I didn't say Republicans because those guys wouldn't get nefarious.

Sorry, #14, I don't agree. The right to life is the MOST important issue because if you don't have life, all other issues are moot..............

Reply 19 - Posted by: FunnyGirl, 11/6/2009 8:59:02 AM     (No. 6004594)

I get emails from MoveOn.org and what they actually asked for were pledges, not donations. They have been pledged $3.6 mn, but they haven't collected it. The idea is to spook the dissenters.

And I agree with #14, we need to stick to basic conservative principles: 1) fiscal responsibility, 2) personal responsibility, 3) national sovreignty, 4)rule of law, and 5)limited government. That is how we win elections.

Reply 20 - Posted by: BlueRidge1, 11/6/2009 9:02:22 AM     (No. 6004603)

I would consider voting for a 'blue dog' who voted against these unconstitutional travesties. best scenario is enough blue dogs can derail the health care 'reform' and watch MOveOn go nuts defeating them in primaries. Most of the areas these guys are representing will not elect leftists in their stead. but conservatives will need to beat rino's in their primaries or will be back where we were with the same type of spend-like-democrats we had before 2006.

MoveOn donors are wasting their $. The only dems who will even consider voting against the bill are the ones who represent conservative-leaning districts. Do the lefties really think a move-on type candidate could win a primary in such areas? Boneheads.

Jesus had a very picturesque description of what He will do with moderates. In Rev. 3:16 He says, "So then because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew you out of my mouth." Get the picture?

So, you just have to keep asking, what's in it for Soros?

No good (for us) is a given.

Reply 25 - Posted by: RightShoe, 11/6/2009 11:46:30 AM     (No. 6005197)

#23 shares my sentiments exactly. Both parties appear to be confronting the moderates among them. "Put up, or get out!"

America is in a political war right now. and I think it's a good thing! My perception of G. W. Bush's biggest weakness was that he thought he could somehow get along with people who diasgreed with him.

The left must be defeated, not met in the middle where they will stab you.

Re: 14 -
Very well stated. We must stop giving the left issues with which to beat us over the head. First we must retain our liberty and regain control over our country.
Re: 19 -
"... we need to stick to basic conservative principles: 1) fiscal responsibility, 2) personal responsibility, 3) national sovreignty, 4)rule of law, and 5)limited government. That is how we win elections."
The core of what must be done.
The points made in these posts should be repeated often.

BFD, all this means is that Soros managed to slip another 3.5+ million to these clowns - you don't really believe that these wackos have money and donate it.

Reply 28 - Posted by: Davids918, 11/6/2009 12:36:59 PM     (No. 6005336)

All the more reason for GOP to reach out and ask the more conservative Dems who ran in mostly Republican-leaning districts as conservatives to join the GOP, or to form coalition government.

Many of them are junior Dem members who don't subscribe to the liberal Dem leader philosophies, but are trying to get along to gain some senority.

What better way then to join the GOP to secure much more plum committee spots.

Even by putting that out in public would have to create major news story the MSM couldn't ignore.

My Dear Blue Dog Dem --
This is to advise we will spend money to locate and support an out and out, frothing at the mouth America-hating Marxist to run against you if you don't vote for Obama's Kill America Legacy. And don't think an unmasked, full throated Internationalist-Marxist won't win the hearts and minds of the voters in your district. It could happen.

Reply 34 - Posted by: trapper, 11/6/2009 3:17:25 PM     (No. 6005845)

Hahahahahaha. The left is so clueless and out of touch. Their self destruction will be spectacular in its breadth and reach. Marxists and traitors will be crawling out of the woodwork to out themselves, and to put up a final, desperate attempt to complete their failing secret coup d'etat. The left is imploding, and taking the furthest left of the moderates with them. There will be no underground to go to. Prison awaits them for their treachery.

There was a flaw in their plan from day one, and they were and continue to be incapable of figuring it out. However, we are not out of the woods yet. Keep the pressure on. Keep shouting. Keep calling lies for what they are: lies. Keep calling traitorous marxists traitorous marxists. Truth. There is no substitute.

Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake. The moderates in the Democratic party are their only hope and Moveon.org wants to exterminate them. And these people think they're smart?

You know, I'm finally doing something other than just grousing about the state of the nation (some of us are slower than others!. Thanks to a L.Dotter who has me on his email list I was inspired to get off my duff and call/email/fax my congressman and give 'em hell...well at least my humble request to not vote for the health reform debacle. IT FELT WONDERFUL! Next I put a donation where my mouth was for the Tea Party Express. My, my what a difference a day makes! Thank you all for this awakening. Who knew that standing up and being counted would be so liberating. Phew...

About a week ago Move-on was foaming at the mouth because they'd received $2MIL in pledges, not actual money, and were going back for more pledges. This makes me wonder if they have the actual bucks in hand or if they are still promises to pay. Its easy for leftoids to pledge any amount, but to actually part with real dollars. Maybe not.

Reply 40 - Posted by: bla bla, 11/6/2009 6:16:32 PM     (No. 6006340)

Funny. This must be why Keith Olberman was whining with a talking head last night that the GOP conservatives had political attack dogs to go after moderate Republicans. The talking points insist that the conservatives did it first, therefor their slimy tactics are justified. Whatever happened to representatives actually representing their constituants?

It's become nothing but power grabs by both parties. Makes me wonder if we pull off this everyman revolution "by the people for the people" -- if the pols & pundits will ever understand what happened.

I don't think they are gong to defect at all.

Blue Dog Demos better look long and hard at what Obama keeps doing to those who fail him! Even those who've done NOTHING to harm him are NOT safe from his actions of cowardice!

Without equivocation, from his grandmother on down the line, he throws them under the bus, as he steps ON THEIR FACES as he keeps trying to STAY AT THE TOP! REGARDLESS, even if they are blood relatives!

Surely the Blue Dogs MUST realize they are only 'cannon fodder'.

Soros got the go-ahead from Obama during his recent visits. If anything, the Democrats are even more in lockstep with the party line than the GOP.
