A Deathblow for ObamaCare
New York Post, by Dick Morris

Original Article

CHRIS Christie’s gutsy win in New Jersey puts the arrogant big spender Jon Corzine in his place. But it is the election in Virginia that probably has more to say to marginal Democratic congressmen considering how to vote on health-care reform. Obviously, Christie’s victory is a body blow to Obama after Corzine outspent the Republican by five-to-one and the president put on a serious push for the incumbent. Corzine’s defeat sends a message

Unfortunately the only comment after this article is either some inbred idiot, or a Dem operative trying to make the Reps look like racists.

I'm not a member of the NYpost, otherwise I would have reported it, or commented on it.

I lean to the Dem Operative Theory myself.

The main thing about the two governors races is independents bolted to the GOP.this is what has to scare skittish dems more than anything. They were suckered in by obama last year but not again. With Obama an dhis reckless spending at the national level a lot of dim governors are taking the cue and doing the same thing.People want stop signs.

Agreed #1

I'm glad that the Republicans won and by such a large margin here in VA...a figure that cannot be trivialized. But I'm especially happy that I won't have to listen to the phone ring every five minutes with some canned ad for some candidate!!!

The only ad I want to hear is something like "Hi...I'm Barack Obama and I didn't have nuthin' to do with them two losers! Honest!! So please call support my HealthSnare program! Please?! If you don't, Michelle's gonna wear more spandex in public!!!" ...That would make me chuckle, except for the spandex part, which would make me barf.

Hopefully yesterday's elections are a wake up call to every Congressman about their insane spending sprees.

The congressmen are sent to D.C. to tax and spend....and reelect. What fun would it be to not lard up your friends with taxpayer money??

"The winner, Bob McDonnell, won the attorney general’s race in the last election by a few tenths of a percent over the same opponent. That he coasted to so huge a victory in the swing state of Virginia now has to send a message to red-state Democratic congressmen: Obama may be able to survive in the deep water into which he is leading his party, but you can’t."

I wonder how many of Pelosi's "peers" are willing to throw themselves under her bus to further her and O's careers. They need to step back, take a deep breath and think about it.

Most of the crooked pols in NJ dem county strongholds are indicted or in jail.

At last we had a nearly fraud free election.

We must clear out the ACORNS, the SEIU thugs, and the other evildoers around the nation and make sure that we no longer disenfranchise the real America voters.

Let's see Dick. I realize the Christie and Mcdonnell elections are important to the citizens in New Jersey and Virginia. But their immediate impact on the rest of the nation is a lot less than the election of the queen nancy lackey in a traditionally republican congressional district in upstate New York. Christie and Mcdonnell can't vote for the democrat boondoggles in congress, but Owens can. I'm not convinced that this election sent a strong message. I'll withhold my judgment until Nov 2010. Thanks again, New York.

Cheer up #8. Three weeks ago the seat would have been won by the other Queen Nancy lackey, Scozzafava. Hoffman made an incredible run and sent a message loud and clear to the GOP.

IIRC, the NY23 race was just an interim race to fill the seat until next year. That means that, shortly, Hoffman can run against Owens again. With 12 more months of climbing unemployment, insane bills in congress and higher taxes, Hoffman will be much stronger. That may be the icing on last night's cake.

DIABLO Scazzafuzzy with her ACORN, Family Working Party, and SEIU affiliations was the reason Owens won in #23. Had there been a real primary and the truth on this come out, she would have never gotten the republican nomination. To think over 6,000 people voted for her anyway just goes to show you how stupid voters are here.

I'll be watching how Owens votes in the house and will let it be known for the 2010 election.

FTA - New Jersey is the quintessential blue state. If it goes Republican, blue state congressmen needn’t worry. Their districts are likely still safe.

Maybe it too early in the morning but I can't figure out Morris's logic here.

I agree with #2. A huge turnout of Independents went for the republicans yesturday. Never blow off the indie vote. Blacks and young people stayed home.

The Hoffman loss is an indictment of the New York Republic party. By statute the republican county leaders in the district got together and selected Scozzafava. Hopefully, they learned something. We need a primary so citizens can decide! We'll do it over in 2010. Definitely the most interesting race of the night.

The stunning NJ win is just beginning to sink in. I'm thrilled. It has to have democrats across the country shaking in their boots. Health Care, Cap and Trade, a second(!) stimulus are dead in the water.

Congratulations Virginia!

Maine defeat of gay marriage is just icing on the cake.

Just quick, random thoughts and wishes that Ldotters bask in the glow and have a great day!

I'm sure soon to be ex-governor Corzine was NOT wearing a seat belt for this result, either!
