Bob McDonnell won big tonight in the Virginia gubernatorial race, as did the entire Virginia Republican party. The implications of the race will be sorted out soon enough. But one big loser is the Washington Post which may unwittingly have helped the Republican, despite their best efforts to put his opponent over the top. On the last weekend in August the Post ran the first of dozens of stories about McDonnell's 1989 masters' thesis,

the only thing I didn't like about McDonnell's masters thesis was that he said he had changed scince he wrote it. I thought was he wrote was pretty good and he should have stood by it and spit in anybody's eye that disagreed

I agree, digging up the old thesis backfired. They'd hoped to do a macaca on McDonnell.Deeds picked up on it and wound up being blamed for running a negative campaign.Everytime I saw Deeds he looked like he has a deer in the headlights look, like he was really unsure of himself. The media this morning is quickly distancing Obama from these defeats even though he campaigned for both.Obama doesn't have the political sense to see the writing on the wall from these elections,he'll just forge ahead being an idiot. The blue dogs and a handful of senate dems are really the only ones that matter anyway.

It's even funnier now that 0bama claimed that Deeds didn't do a "come to Jesus" soon enough in his campaign. He would have lost by an even bigger margin.

The Post people might be able to redeem themselves if they published obama's thesis. That is, if they could find one that Bill Ayer's didn't write and one that didn't expose him for the unimaginative communist radical that he has always been.

Strangely enough, if you're a dem pol, your thesis is so important and monumental that it's under lock and key under threat of death and dismemberment if it's ever leaked or looked at. Reminds me of that Sean Connery movie about that weird monastary.

How sweet it is to be hated by the Washington comPost.

I think it time that BO releases his thesis and grades. I bet you it will be interesting reading. I bet you it will be a study in marxism and would make McDonell's look like a child's tale.

It would be nice if the msm learned the lesson of the last nine months. They have a place and a job to perform.....report the news. Their decision to become a propaganda tool for the dems was a bad decision and one that broke, irrevocably, the trust of the people.

Why should the drive-by media learn any lessons on why they're going broke? They know they can get zero to bail them out. After all, zero can't afford to lose his propaganda machines.

I think part of the reason that the Washington Post campaign against the republican this time wasn't as successful as its campaign against Senator Allen is that it just has less readership and influence generally.

So actually the Post helped McDonnell by puttng the thesis out there and prompting Deeds to latch onto it like a dog w/a bone.

Did you know that CNN chattered about nonessentials while Christie gave his speech last night? Such sour grapes.
