| Warren Buffett, the second richest man in the world and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway (NYSE:BRK.A), doesn't have much faith in the future of print media. In an interview on CNBC's Nov. 3 "Squawk Box," following the announcement of his purchase of Burlington Northern (NYSE:BNI), Buffett was asked to comment on the future of news media, in particular newspapers and business news by "Squawk Box" co-host Becky Quick.
|
Comments: Not exactly a newsflash coming from Buffett, but maybe he'll jump on board a newspaper bailout since he owns the Buffalo News.

Time for the print media to enter the twenty-first century.

The world has changed. I didn't have access to TV (one channel) until I was seven; didn't have access to a phone or air conditioner (window) until I was about 14. Paper newspapers no longer fill a void that can't be met elsewhere. I remember a time when I spent all day Sunday reading the paper. Everyone except "journalists" has moved on.

Our local newspaper--owned by a proclaimed Democrat--is biased to the point that on the "letters to the Editor" page..........the page is filled with Pro Obama/Liberal slanted letters..................and my area is over-whelmingly Republican!!! I looked some of the letter-writers names up--most were on the payroll of the paper. FAIR AND BALANCED?????
