Fox is being realistic. This gives demonrats more than enough time to print off and fill in more ballots for Owens.

Republicans never win if this happens.

Had Scozzafava not endorsed Owens, Hoffman almost certainly would have won. Her bitterness gave the Democrats another seat.

The silver lining is that in 2010 a consensus GOP candidate will emerge out of the primary and take the seat back. It won't be Scozzafava; if anything she'll switch parties after this.
