Former U.S. President Bill Clinton said on Monday he would have preferred to leave the White House in a coffin because he loved being commander in chief, but signaled his political life was over. "It's good that we have a (term) limit. Otherwise I would have stayed until I was carried away in a coffin.

Is he talking about Feb. 1992? Unfortunately that would have left the US with algore who possibly might have completed the term or would have been removed as a lunatic.

How simply wonderful that Slick had such a blast being the leader of the free world.

Thanks to the fact that he did such a horrible job at it, George W. Bush was not afforded that luxury.

Sit down and shut up you jerk.

The heartsong goal of every Liberal: To gain office and die there, hopefully as a *martyr*. Then live on eternally being used to promote big sweeping legislation and having endless monuments built for self. It's, always, all about them.

Reply 36 - Posted by: Hazymac, 11/3/2009 7:01:54 PM     (No. 5997079)

Well, if Slick Willie had left in horizontal mode, we'd have been stuck with a Commander in Chief who belongs in Wildwood Sanitarium. I mean, even conservative senator Fred Thompson voted not to remove the president with his trousers at half staff because removal would have meant having a certifiable person behind That Desk. And that person would have been running as an incumbent in 2000, and would have won. Those on this site who bellyache that Clinton wasn't removed by the Senate must consider what would have happened to us if Gore had had ten years in the Oral Orifice. The impeachment vote in the House was correct--impeachment is forever--the removal vote in the Senate was also correct. America doesn't need a mentally ill president.

I am not nor have I ever been a fan of Bill Clinton, but that is kind of sad. The man has so little left of himself after his political ambition is achieved, he feels as if his life is over. That is really sad. I'm sure there are constructive things he could be doing that would actually help the country.

As #26 noted, for once Bubba is being truthful.
As he himself has said, he might not have been the BEST president (no Schumer, Sherlock!) but he had the most FUN! And 'fun's' what it's all about, right?

I remember well how he dawdled for days on end before he/they finally moved out of the WH, and they finally had to pry his bony fingers off the door jamb. I was almost embarrassed for him. Almost.

If Bill had been carried out of the White House in a coffin, the Demorats would probably have lauded him as a martyr and maneuvered his interment at Arlington Cemetery right next to Jack Kennedy -- for this despicable creature who never, ever served a day in our military, or ever did an honest day's work in his life.

Now he gets to suffer as a useless, largely irrelevant has-been, with waning influence in the political party within which once he was king. It must be truly humiliating – and richly deserved --for him to be so superseded in demorat political leadership by his contemptible wife.

Algore would have been prez if the Senate hadn't chickened out on impeachment (Gee, thanks, Senator Scottish Law!) or if you'd have done the decent thing and resigned in disgrace after Monicagate. But no, you had to cling to the Oval Office like a junkie clinging to a syringe. You. Slick, have no one to blame but yourself for 8 yer of W. On behalf of he nation, however, I thank you for your selfishness. I'm not sure we'd have survived 4+ years of that mentally unbalanced eco-fascist in the WH.

There is no such thing as coffin in Bill Clinton's vocabulary. What he meant to say was that he would have preferred to have left the White House as a boffin. But because he was distracted by some very nasty diatribes, he never got to read the books that would have got him there.

Thank you, #15. Trying to parse Clinton's words will leave you wondering if he wishes he'd had 3 or more terms like FDR; or if he'd had the fine departure of either JFK or Reagan. Maybe he wishes he'd had the love and pathos of Lincoln. Surely he couldn't have meant he wished to suffer the grief of McKinley. Love him or hate him, William Jefferson Clinton was the 42 president and there's not a damn thing we can do about it now. He'll get his turn in the Rotunda when the Almighty appoints.

Don't go away sad, Bill. Just go away.

Every Dem wants to be FDR--or Franco.
Term limits for thee, but not for me-or Bloomberg.
He had fun playing tin pot South American Dictator reviewing HIS military in endless parades of pomp and circumstance for HIS glory.

Billzabubba did not get off the golf course--and PIAPS didn't leave the dining table--to quash terrorist attacks on our soil during their reign.
They would not take UBL when he was offered on a silver platter.
Back then they said, ''ewww, I'm ascared.''
Now they say, ''It's Bush's fault.''

BilnHil Cartoon have innocent blood on their hands.
Let them rest assured, however, that they shan't be in the coffin long;

So the man who evaded the draft, who did not respond to an induction notice, who joined the rotc at the u. of arkansas where he said he was going to attend law school, but then didn't, but instead wrote a letter to the commander, talking about loathing the military - that's the man who misses being commander in chief?
