Thanks to all the Ldotters who have sent their kind words and support. I got into this race, literally, twenty-four hours before the county committee sent the petitions to the printer. So, I had only 12 hours to decide if I wanted to take the plunge. Here we are 4 1/2 months later and we have raised almost $10,000 with NO campaign matching funds in donations of $5, $10, $20, some 50's and a few 100's.

The campaign has gotten more attention than most of the NYC Council races.

This campaign will make a difference no matter what the outcome!!!!

My poorly informed view from afar is that Joshua will not win--perhaps won't even come close. However, that isn't the whole story.

Many of us in red areas have seen liberal influences becoming more prevalent in the last few years. It has been somewhat discouraging to us, and encouraging to their followers, as they become more vocal, get their message out, and win over more people.

Now the converse: I would imagine that Joshua's campaign has been an encouragement to many on our side in the Upper West Side and a discouragement to the other side.

Even the heart of Manhattan is no longer sacred ground for the Left.

It's a start. It's a foothold. It makes them have to use resources and look inward and defend their home turf. It shakes their resolve. It wins converts at the very doorstep of liberalism. It sends a signal that we are no longer content to simply play defense.

And, oh yes, it has been a few weeks ago, but I did contribute. I wanted to be able to claim a part of the effort--the audacity--the strike at the very belly of the beast.

Go Joshua!

Having attended(and contributed)to your fundraiser at the Republican club a few weeks ago, Josh, I was impressed with your ideas. Win or lose, and of course we hope win, you are offering a rational choice to the lunacy of the libs. I wish I was in your district to vote for you. Good luck!!

Voted this morning and toured some other polling sites. Turnout is very very low. THIS IS A GOOD THING. Republicans on the Upper West Side are more dedicated voters than the Dems who outnumber them.!!!!!!!
