Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reportedly told fellow Democrats that she's prepared to lose seats in 2010 if that's what it takes to pass ObamaCare, and little wonder. The health bill she unwrapped last Thursday, which President Obama hailed as a "critical milestone," may well be the worst piece of post-New Deal legislation ever introduced. In a rational political world, this 1,990-page runaway train

The "Blue Dogs" will be her sacrificial "blue lambs". Funny to think Nancy will be 73 yrs old in 2013 if this passes and goes into effect...

If Nancy Pelosi is willing to risk losing majority in 2010 over this health-care disaster, then shouldn't it be safer for the Democrats to risk being voted out, and just vote no?

The Democrats under Pelosi are like Disney's lemmings. They are being herded over a cliff.

Hey, I dunno, but maybe some of these demcraps have discovered that if they lose their seat after voting for this, they and their families lose their Cadillac health plan and are stuck with the socialized medical plan they want the rest of us to suffer with.

Everybody should read this very carefully. It is very, very scary. It reminds me of the title of what Peter Hitchens wrote on the election day "The night we waved goodbye to America... our last best hope on Earth"
The end is already here.

RE# 9
I got an idea that the perks go on until the legislator and his wife/significant other die, don't depend if you are in office or not. "Having been in" is enough. If you write the laws you make sure that you take care of yourself, it's the democrat way.

The 2010 elections should have a one question litmus test:

Will you PROMISE to OVERTURN all bills passed since 1-20-09?

How about it:

A "Contract with ACTUAL Americans!"

The goal is to ram through whatever income-redistribution scheme they can claim to be "universal coverage." The result will be destructive on every level—for the health-care system, for the country's fiscal condition, and ultimately for American freedom and prosperity.

So the mask is off; all of this is purely a hail-mary power play designed not to provide health care for the uninsured or to provide better health care for all, but to enact a bloodless coup.

Okay, it's now public knowledge. Does Congress care?

Essentially, all insurers will become government contractors, in the business of fulfilling political demands: There will be no such thing as "private" health insurance.

That was the goal all along, to take over our lives. You can't do socialism and communism unless you have control over the populace and historically, taking over the health care system is the quickest way. They must be stopped. Not delayed -- stopped. Not compromise with -- stopped.

...the political system will have no choice but to start making cost-minded decisions about which treatments patients are allowed to receive.

Death panels? Surely you jest...

People- and I mean ALL but the rarest of people- will ALWAYS act in their own self interest.

Pelosi wouldn't even think of pushing this Bill if it meant her own political head would be lopped; neither will her Democrat colleagues in the House, if they believe their careers are on the line.

The key is in intimidating House Members to a greater degree than the Democrat leadership can muster. Call your congressman's office. Fax them, email them, protest them. Let them know in no uncertain terms they will be unemployed if they vote 'Yes"...

1- She is very wealthy thanks to the same capitalism that she hates
2-She and her colleagues are NOT, I repeat NOT covered by this.

She is a cynical leftist pig who want to get power for her far left ideas. I despise this creature.

If this bill is allowed to become law Pelosi will demonstrate a similarly catastrophic principle:
Do not mix any government controlled enterprise with unlimited legal liability.

I wonder how many people know that Pelosi's new Health Bill will give illegal immigrants the same health coverage that citizens get. They are taxing or rationing the benefits to the elderly and awarding it to illegals. I expect amnesty for the illegals very soon.

In today's Rasmussen report the polls show that most people do not think the illegals should be given the same health coverage. The Liberals are keeping quiet about this.

Bachmann, along with other Republicans, will be holding a “town hall” outside the Capitol Thursday to protest the health-care reform legislation, which House Democrats are expected to bring to the floor for a vote by the end of this week.

Somewhere along the line, the word "Representative" lost its meaning with the House. It's time to clean out all 435 and replace them with ordinary people who actually represent us. Actually, it's our Constitutional duty to do it for them.

As some previous posters have noted, this bill, if passed, would be a failure of our representative government. Americam History (a topic not taught much anymore in our radical schools) tells us the People do not react well to decisions made without the participation of their representatives. If Commissar Pelosi "rams" this Health Care monstrosity through as is, she deserves to "reap the whirlwind" and it will not be pleasant.

Of course, the trial lawyers will get added protection from this obamination:

"Section 2531, entitled “Medical Liability Alternatives,” establishes an incentive program for states to adopt and implement alternatives to medical liability litigation. [But]…… a state is not eligible for the incentive payments if that state puts a law on the books that limits attorneys’ fees or imposes caps on damages."

What a joke. So, a state that puts limits on attorneys fees or imposes caps on damages can't take advantage of the incentive for finding alternatives? Trial lawyers are awarded this provision from their Democrat whores. (h/t BigGovernment)

Speaking of jokes.

The Pope and Nancy Pelosi were on the same stage in front of a huge crowd.

The Pope said, "Did you know that with just one little wave of MY hand I can make EVERY person in the crowd go crazy with joy? This joy will not be a momentary display like that of your subjects, but will go deep into their hearts, and they will forever speak of this day and rejoice."

Pelosi seriously doubts him, and says, "One little wave of your hand, and all people will rejoice forever?? Show me"...

.... and the Pope slapped her.

Had to share that one.

When standards of living decline for most Americans, and a New Class of Apparatchiks, controlled by Cadres of New-Minted Gauleiters, presume to guide the careers and life-choices of their American Subjects (for their own good, of course), then the Great Question will be asked and answered:~~

"WHOM will the Armed Forces obey?"

For the Best among the Citizenry will revoke their alegiance to the Tyrant at the Centre, and compulsion must become naked. If these United States should be sundered and fractured, who among the Successor Polities will assume the National Debt? Any Volunteers?

States' secession from federal government tyranny looks more and more like the best solution to end this insanity. The whole idea of the Declaration of Independence was for us to govern ourselves -- not BE governed from far away.

This isn’t any longer – if ever it was -- a government Of the People, By the People, For the People, as the moralistic, anti-democratic statist Abraham Lincoln so facetiously alleged at Gettysburg.

The far-away foreign power is now our own so-called national ‘Executive Administration,’ ‘Federal Judiciary’ and so-called 'Representatives' at the Court of Washington, DC, for the most part far-removed from the genuine concerns and interests of this country’s citizens. These are now the real enemies of all true Americans.

Texas has always reserved its right to secede and resume status as a free republic. The day Texas does so, that’s were I’m bound, either to live in freedom, or fight and maybe die for it.

#48- 2000 pages of incomprehensible rhetoric, that most have not read nor will ever read, that calls into legislation something that has never been done before is called a blank check for defecrats to do whatever they want.
That said, this will mandadate all new layers of beauracracy that we have never seem before. If they say it will cost 1 trillion, it will be three times that minimum. There is no doubt it will be staggering whatever number they put on it.

Reply 53 - Posted by: RoOsTeR, 11/3/2009 2:58:20 AM     (No. 5994988)

The focus should be why the members of congress exempt themselves from this. If this is so great for us Americans then shouldn't it be good enough for those who pass it?
If we had a media that did its job, they should focus on that and demand answers from them.
This bill no different than feeding dog food to our dogs while we eat yum tasty food except that Pelosi and Company are trying to force us to eat this dog poo of a health care plan while they enjoy a steak and lobster healthcare plan. Ridiculous!!!
