The New York Times slammed Donald Trump for his “outrageous” mocking of a reporter who suffers from a congenital condition, Politico reports. “We think it’s outrageous that he would ridicule the appearance of one of our reporters,” a Times spokeswoman said Wednesday. During a campaign rally in South Carolina Tuesday night, Trump imitated Times reporter Serge Kovaleski who suffers from Arthrogryposis, a physical condition that affects the range of a person’s joints. Describing Kovaleski as a “nice reporter,” Trump mocked his atypical arm and hand motions, telling his audience in a mocking tone, “you ought to see the

While awarding the medal of freedom to director Steven Spielberg and other celebrities, President Obama jokingly suggested that the director of movies like “A.I. Artificial Intelligence” and “Lincoln” should make one about his presidency. “Despite redefining the word ‘prolific,’ a Spielberg movie is still a Spielberg movie,” Obama said as someone’s cell phone in the room began ringing. “Somebody is calling to see if they can book him for a deal right now,” Obama joked. “They want to make pitch … ‘so there’s this really good-looking President and…´” he hinted. Obama grinned as the crowd laughed and he went on to praise Spielberg’s movies

President Obama delivered his Thanksgiving address this morning, including a political lecture on Syrian refugees. He told Americans that Syrian refugees were just like the pilgrims who came to America on the Mayflower. “In 1620, a small band of pilgrims came to this continent, refugees who had fled persecution and violence in their native land,” he said. “Nearly 400 years later, we remember their part in the American story – and we honor the men and women who helped them in their time of need.” Obama reminded Americans to step back on Thanksgiving and remember that historically “we turn Lady

University students in Massachusetts who were upset by an image of a Confederate flag sticker on another student’s laptop were offered counseling services at Framingham State University. The offer came after the university’s “chief diversity and inclusion officer,” Sean Huddleston, described the display of the small Confederate flag sticker as a “bias incident.” According to Metrowest Daily News, students filed two “bias reports” within the past month as a result of a student displaying the flag in some way. The most recent bias incident – reported on November 19 – was a report of a student having seen a Confederate flag sticker

A large group of juveniles robbed a clothing store in Georgetown on Tuesday evening and stole $13,000 worth of items, according to D.C. police. According to a 10K filing from Disney today, which you can read here, ESPN now has 92 million subscribers. That´s a troubling number because just two years ago ESPN reported it had 99 million subscribers in the same 10k filing. This means ESPN is now acknowledging that it has lost seven million cable and satellite subscribers in the past two years. Given that the average ESPN subscriber pays $6.61 a channel per month, this means that ESPN has lost somewhere in the neighborhood of $550 million in subscriber revenue per year since 2013. (That´s not counting advertising dollar losses.)

How alarmed were New Jersey officials by reports of Muslims dancing in the streets of Jersey City and Paterson on Sept. 11, 2001, to celebrate the destruction of the World Trade Center? They feared riots would break out and were ready to send in the National Guard and the State Police to preserve order. But John J. Farmer Jr., then the New Jersey attorney general and the state’s chief law enforcement officer, said on Tuesday that he ordered an investigation that very day and found the reports to be bogus, more wild stories born in the stricken hours after the

Barack Obama says he wants the truth. On November 21, the New York Times reported allegations that military intelligence officials provided the president with skewed assessments that minimized the threat from ISIS and overstated the success of U.S. efforts against the group. The Times story was an update of reporting from the Daily Beast earlier this fall. “More than 50 intelligence analysts working out of the U.S. military’s Central Command have formally complained that their reports on ISIS and al Qaeda’s branch in Syria were being inappropriately altered by senior officials,” the Beast reported in September. These analysts say their
