Donald Trump, leading in the polls and riding a wave of momentum in the race for the Republican presidential nomination, just hit a speed bump named Hugh Hewitt. The conservative radio host peppered Trump with a host of foreign policy questions in a Thursday interview that produced some uncomfortable moments for the real estate mogul, who appeared upset at the line of questioning. At one point, Hewitt asked Trump if he was familiar with Iranian General Qassem Soleimani and the Quds Forces. Trump said he was but then appeared to mistake the Quds for the Kurds, a Middle Eastern ethnic

Soon after Donald Trump took a big step in establishing himself as a serious GOP presidential candidate by signing the party’s loyalty pledge, he ran into serious trouble on foreign policy. During an interview with Hugh Hewitt Thursday evening, Mr. Trump got tripped up by a question from the conservative radio host about the Quds Forces, mistaking the Iranian military group for the Kurdish people. Mr. Trump also brushed off Mr. Hewitt’s attempts later in the interview to get him to distinguish Hamas–the Palestinian terrorist group–from the Hezbollah forces acting in Lebanon. “So the difference between Hezbollah and Hamas does not matter

Appearing on Hugh Hewitt´s radio show last night, Donald Trump stumbled over some foreign policy questions and then accused the host of giving him "gotchya" questions. CNN: Trump, the front-runner for the GOP nomination, blasted conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt in an interview and said it is "ridiculous" to be questioned about who leads Hamas, Hezbollah, al-Nusra and ISIS. "I think it´s ridiculous. I´ll have, I´m a delegator. I find great people. I find absolutely great people, and I´ll find them in our armed services, and I find absolutely great people," Trump said. Trump sought to downplay the importance of

Quiet conversations have begun in recent weeks among some of the Republican Party’s biggest donors and normally competing factions, all aimed at a single question: How can we stop Donald Trump? Republican strategists and donors have assembled focus groups to test negative messages about Mr. Trump. They have amassed dossiers on his previous support for universal health care and higher taxes. They have even discussed the creation of a “super PAC” to convince conservatives that Mr. Trump is not one of them. But the mammoth big-money network assembled by Republicans in recent years is torn about how best to defuse the threat

"Mitt wants to run. He never stopped wanting to run," an anonymous senior adviser of Mitt Romney´s 2012 presidential campaign recently told New York magazine. Other members of Romneyworld have denied the former governor is interested in another campaign. But at this stage in the 2016 race, Mitt Romney should start preparing to get back in the arena. Romney should be ready to enter the field to save his party from an awful reckoning between its leadership and its base, a reckoning that has been brought on by Donald Trump´s campaign. Trump has proven that the "strongest GOP primary field

President and first lady Michelle Obama´s bid to cut kid obesity through new demands for more costly but healthier food is financially crushing the nation´s school cafeterias, forcing staff cuts, boosting waste and killing plans to buy new equipment, according to an industry association. A new survey from the School Nutrition Association reported that 70 percent of the nation´s lunch programs have been financially "harmed" by the new low-salt, low-sugar menus and that a stunning 93 percent report fewer students buying the chow. "Meeting these mandates has harmed the financial health of nearly 70 percent of school meal programs surveyed, with fewer

(Video) GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush hit fellow Republican Donald Trump today, saying on Good Morning America that he thinks “Trump is trying to insult his way into the presidency.” “It’s not going to work, people want an uplifting hopeful message, people come to this country to pursue their dreams, sometimes they start without speaking English, but they learn English and they add vitality to our country," Bush told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos in an exclusive interview. It was in response to comments Trump made Wednesday in an interview with Breitbart News, saying “I like Jeb; he’s a nice man,” adding,

The GOP has finally muscled its maverick front-runner, Donald Trump, into submission. A Trump adviser said on Thursday the billionaire has agreed to sign the Republican “loyalty pledge” he famously refused at the first debate in Cleveland last month, apparently ruling out a scenario that utterly terrified the GOP establishment: that Trump would launch a third-party bid and almost certainly deny Republicans the White House. With the stroke of a pen, Trump will put these fears to rest—and immeasurably weaken his own standing. He’s probably signing his political death warrant. The adviser gave four reasons for why Trump decided to sign

ASHLAND, Ky. — A Kentucky county clerk was found in contempt of court Thursday for her refusal to issue marriage licenses in wake of the Supreme Court decision to allow gays to wed. U.S. District Court Judge David Bunning placed Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis in the custody of U.S. marshals until she complies, saying fines were not enough to force her to comply with his previous order to provide the paperwork to all couples and allowing her to defy the order would create a "ripple effect."

The PGA is canceling its annual Grand Slam of Golf tournament this year following a disagreement with Donald Trump. The event was slated to be held in October at the GOP front-runner´s Trump National Golf Course in Los Angeles. But the PGA decided in July to move the tournament after Trump made controversial statements about illegal immigration. On Thursday, the PGA said they were unable to find another venue in time. “Due to the timing and logistics needed to stage the PGA Grand Slam of Golf to the highest standards, we are disappointed that we will not be able to

The White House says no public official is above the rule of law, after Kentucky County Court Clerk Kim Davis was ordered to jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest gave reporters who questioned him about President Obama’s reaction to the case: “I will just say on principle that the success of our democracy depends on the rule of law and there is no public official that is above the rule of law,” Earnest said. “Certainly not the President of the United States. But neither is the Rowan county clerk. That’s a
