Donald Trump is more similar to the Founders of our country than anyone who has run for the presidency in my lifetime. What?! What?! Didn´t Trump just jump an entire school of sharks in the third debate, saying he didn´t know if he would accept the outcome of the election. Isn´t he finished? Are you out of your bloody mind, Simon? Okay, maybe, it wouldn´t be the first time... but hear me out. Put briefly: If Donald Trump believes—as many of us do—that the FBI is corrupt, the Justice Department is corrupt, the other party is hiring violent paid thugs to disrupt his

How many of the Republicans gathered Saturday night in Tampa, I wonder, had the same thought I did as Marco Rubio spoke to the annual state GOP Victory Dinner. Imagine how different things could have been if they nominated Rubio for president instead of Donald Trump. Instead of a nominee talking about America as if it were heaving its last, dying gasps, they would hear optimism and idealism. "Let there be no doubt that we are an extraordinary nation," U.S. Sen. Rubio said, acknowledging the deluge of bad news at home and abroad lately. "Yes America has problems. It has more problems than

With her opponent dogged by accusations of sexual assault, Hillary Clinton had strong odds as she entered the third presidential debate on Wednesday. Only one thing seemed to threaten her chances of victory: her smile. The Democratic candidate faced a flood of insults as she took to the stage at the University of Las Vegas, with many viewers confessing they were ´creeped out´ by her stubborn grin.Hundreds took to Twitter to describe her smile as ´scary´ and ´creepy´. Scroll down for video (Photo/Video) Others questioned why, when being slammed with insults from her opponent, her expression did not drop. ´Hillary

LAS VEGAS — Standing in a garish hotel lobby, casino music pounding, a Republican who has worked hard to help Donald Trump couldn´t quite believe how the final presidential debate had ended just a couple of hours earlier. "He had a home run going — a home run — and then he p****d it away in ten seconds," the person said. "Could he just try to win? Just f—-king try to win?" The Republican was referring, of course, to Trump´s refusal to promise that he will abide by the results of the election, should he lose. "I will look at it at

Donald Trump was criticized after he described Hillary Clinton as ´such a nasty woman´ during last night´s debate in Las Vegas. Trump interrupted the Democratic candidate as she was answering a complicated question about social security and Medicare. She said: ´I am on record as saying that we need to put more money into the Social Security trust fund - that´s part of my commitment to raise taxes on the wealthy. ´My Social Security payroll contribution will go up, as will Donald´s, assuming he can´t figure out how to get out of it,´ Clinton added, taking a dig at Trump´s record of

A growing chorus of Republicans from across the country are telling Americans that the voting system is secure, despite Donald Trump’s unsubstantiated claims of a “rigged” election. “Look, to say that elections are rigged and all these votes are stolen, that’s like saying we never landed on the moon, frankly,” Ohio Gov. John Kasich told “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday. “That’s how silly it is.” (Snip) Earlier this week, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said there’s “no evidence” that dark forces are out to steal next month’s election. “This election is not being rigged,” Rubio said during a debate Monday.

Michelle Obama dazzled the crowd at her final state dinner as first lady, in a floor-length rose gold chainmail gown. It was a ´bittersweet moment´ for the Obamas on Tuesday as they welcomed Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi and his wife for an official visit and the final state dinner of his time in office. Barack Obama had promised that they had ´saved the best for last.´ And the first lady lived up to that promise with her stunning custom-made Atelier Versace dress. FLOTUS showed off her signature toned arms and completed the glamorous look with poker-straight locks. The Obamas,

At the end of the debate, while Hillary was droning on with snippets rehearsed, Trump gave the best description of Hillary. He said, "Such a nasty woman." Who could disagree with that? She is nasty and a woman. On substance and manner, Trump was clearly the winner. Hillary gave her usual robotic answers sprinkled with cheap shots, which is her preparation for the past week. Trump brought out that the violence at his rally in Chicago and other rallies was caused by operatives of the Clinton campaign. Hillary did not deny it. In an interview on the Spanish-language show "Noticias Telemundo," Virginia Senator Tim Kaine, the Democrat nominee for vice president, said that Spanish was the language of America before English. Kaine has often given speeches in Spanish, and on Sunday he gave a sermon entirely in Spanish at Pneuma Church in Miami, Fla. "Latino culture is one of the most important things in our country right now because we have had Hispanic roots since the beginning. ... Spanish was the language of our country before English," Kaine told Telemundo host José Díaz-Balart on Monday, according to a translated transcript. "It´s important to remember

Speaking in Rome, Italy on Thursday, Attorney General Loretta Lynch told a group of leaders and law enforcement officials that "fighting corruption in all of its forms" is a vital mission of the U.S. Justice Department. "And like many of you, I have seen firsthand how corruption, at bottom, is about breaking trust. It is about undermining citizens’ belief in their elected officials. Sonia Sotomayor said her fellow Supreme Court justice´s comments sometimes left her wanting to dispense rough justice with sporting equipment. “There are things he’s said on the bench where if I had a baseball bat, I might have used it,” the Bronx-born judge said of her late colleague Antonin Scalia on Monday. Scalia was a longtime leader of the Court’s conservative wing, often on the opposite side of Sotomayor on issues such as gay marriage and affirmative action after she was appointed by President Obama in 2009.

A Democratic National Committee tour bus sporting ads for Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine illegally dumped human waste into a storm drain between campaign stops on Tuesday, according to a CBS affiliate in Atlanta. Lawrenceville, Ga., police are investigating the claim after a witness came forward Tuesday morning with photos of the incident on Grayson Highway. The unnamed witness, a businessman from the town, took photos of the Democratic organization´s bus spitting out sewage onto the ground. Police told CBS when they arrived at the site, mushed up toilet paper was visible on the ground and the area smelled like sewage.
