SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- A sullen Cam Newton was not remotely interested in speaking with the media after the Panthers lost Super Bowl 50 and abruptly left the podium in the middle of his media session.Newton spent two-and-a-half minutes answering questions and basically pouting before standing up and leaving. In fairness to Cam, you could hear the Broncos celebrating loudly over a thin barrier. But he's not doing himself any favors with the way he handled an admittedly difficult time.

Jeb Bush vowed Monday that he will not scapegoat President Obama for any challenges he faces should he be elected president. “My pledge to you: When I’m president I will not blame Barack Obama for a single thing,” he told listeners at the Nashua Country Club in Nashua, N.H. "The day that I’m sworn into office, I’m on watch — whatever it is." “I am really tired of politicians that blame their predecessors,” the Republican White House hopeful added. "I have a personal kind of feeling about it having watched it for a while. “I hope you want a president

Beyonce issued a strong political statement with her halftime show at Super Bowl 50 tonight with backing dancers dressed as members of armed rights group the Black Panthers. The superstar brought the dancers on for her new single Formation which is being widely touted as a rallying cry for the Black Lives Matter movement. At one point during the song, the supporting performers formed an ´X´ on the field - thought to reference black rights campaigner Malcolm X. Beyonce was widely expected to make a political statement during the halftime show which was headlined by Coldplay and also featured Bruno Mars. Anticipation had

CONCORD, N.H. — Marco Rubio’s robotic debate performance Saturday night sparked an all-out offensive on the campaign trail here Sunday over his authenticity and experience, momentarily halting the momentum of the senator from Florida and further muddling the presidential nomination battle. Just two days before the New Hampshire primary, Rubio drew mockery for repeating a rehearsed line four times during the Republican candidates’ debate, even after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie had ridiculed him for being a talking-point machine. Rubio received scathing reviews on the Sunday talk shows and was needled by some of his opponents. On Twitter, he earned the moniker

During Saturday’s Republican presidential candidate debate in New Hampshire, Donald Trump was asked: Mr. Trump, you´ve heard the argument from many of the candidates on this stage that you´re not a true conservative. Tell the voters watching tonight why you are. He replied: Well, I think I am, and to me, I view the word conservative as a derivative of the word “conserve.” We want to conserve our money. We want to conserve our wealth. We want to conserve. We want to be smart. We want to be smart where we go, where we spend, how we spend. We want to conserve our

The NFL normally adopts the posture of patriotism and wholesomeness. And I have to admit that performance of the National Anthem by Lady Gaga was quite nice, despite my fears that the performer known for her meat dress would make a travesty of it. So why did the League feature a performance by Obama-pal Beyonce Knowlees that unmistakably celebrated the Black Panthers, whose murderous reign of terror began in the Bay Area that hosted the Super Bowl? Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump is driving young Muslims “closer to the terrorists,” said actress and feminist icon Jane Fonda. Ms. Fonda, 78, appeared Sunday night at the Women’s Equality and ERA Coalition’s “Night of Comedy” in Manhattan, accusing Mr. Trump of “fanning the flames of people’s anxieties and racism,” the New York Daily News reported. “It’s terrible and it’s dangerous,” Ms. Fonda said. “Even if he doesn’t make it, which I don’t think he will, the fact that he’s said the things he’s said about Muslims for example, the damage has been done. All those young Muslims now can

Sunday on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said there is a “double standard” when she is criticized for shouting by “male pundits” because she is a woman. Host Jake Tapper asked, “A lot of your supporters were very upset this last week when some older male pundits suggested that you are a shouter. Now, I would observe that Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) doesn’t exactly talk in a whisper. But that said, do you think that the coverage of you is sexist? Do you think that when male pundits say things like that, they have a

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has stormed out of a press conference following Sunday´s unexpected loss to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 50. Grilled over how disappointing it was to walk away second place having been widely tipped as favorites, Newton managed a single complete answer before resorting to one-word responses. Pushed on how the team was taking the defeat, the 26-year-old sat stony-faced for a few moments before silently getting up and walking out of the press conference. Donald Trump may want to build a wall across the U.S. southern border to keep Mexican migrants out but don´t expect Mexico to pay for it, former President Felipe Calderon told CNBC, calling the billionaire a "not very well-informed man." The GOP presidential hopeful insisted in October that if elected, he would build a wall aloing the Mexican border and get Mexico to pay for it. But Calderon, Mexico´s president from 2006 to 2012, told CNBC on Saturday that there was no way that Mexico would pay for it. "Mexican people, we are not going to pay any single cent

When the Watergate tapes were released, some Americans were dismayed at the many “expletives deleted” that Richard Nixon employed in private conversation. But as historian Stephen Ambrose pointed out, Nixon had insisted that even the milder words “hell” and “damn” be deleted from the transcriptions, creating the false impression that his language was saltier than it actually was. “If my mother ever heard me use words like that,” Nixon explained, “she would turn over in her grave.” No inner check constrained Donald Trump from using the F-word during a presidential campaign rally in Portsmouth, N.H. “We’re gonna have businesses that used

ST. PAUL, Minn. — A Minnesota elementary school has kissed Valentine´s Day goodbye. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas, too. Bruce Vento Elementary in St. Paul is joining other public schools in opting out of holiday celebrations as school officials strive to be more culturally sensitive and inclusive. The school has a predominantly Asian and black student body, and English is a second language for more than half of its pupils, who come from a range of faith backgrounds. In a letter to parents last week, Principal Scott Masini said his rationale was to avoid "encroaching on the educational opportunities of others and threatening
