Guess who´s coming to state dinners and other official White House functions as first lady if Hillary wins the presidency? The top two contenders on Clinton´s very secret potential first lady list are her close aide and controversial confidante, Huma Abedin, and popular former first daughter, Chelsea Clinton-Mezvinsky, Daily Mail Online can report exclusively. A Clinton campaign source revealed that Chelsea and Huma ´are being seriously discussed´ for the first lady spot. ´Hillary firmly believes both Huma and Chelsea can handle the duties of the first lady with aplomb,´ said the source. ´But in the end she also knows it

I have written before about the political conditions that have given rise to Donald Trump, but it is an incomplete explanation. There is also a cultural and moral context that allows someone like Mr. Trump – narcissistic, crude, obsessed with wealth and fame, and who has never felt the need to ask God for forgiveness – to emerge. It is hardly a coincidence that Donald Trump shot to the top of the polls in a nation that celebrates the Kardashians. All of which got me to thinking about the marvelous recent book by David Brooks, The Road to Character. According to Brooks, “Each society creates its own moral ecology.

The Republican establishment is in full meltdown over the collapse of the bid by House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California to succeed retiring Speaker John Boehner of Ohio. NPR reported GOP representatives were “audibly crying.” “Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Fla., said the meeting opened, Republicans said the Pledge and then McCarthy stood up and took himself out of the race. The prohibitive favorite said he didn’t want members to take arrows for voting for him and that he was taking himself out of contention. “Speaker Boehner then immediately moved to adjourn the meeting. Rooney said there was “total shock” and

Hundreds of irate Oregonians, toting guns and nasty signs, gave President Obama a derisive Friday welcome before he sat with relatives of last week’s college shooting victims. “Obama Go Home” and “Go Back To Kenya” read two of the crude homemade posters held aloft by demonstrators who rolled out the rhetoric, not the red carpet for the commander-in-chief. “He’s exploiting a local tragedy to make a political point,” griped Bruce Rester, 66, who came from Glendale, Ore., carrying a .45-caliber automatic handgun. “He doesn’t care about the people who live here,” said Rester. “I don’t think he cares about the people who are

Could Newt Gingrich end up right back to the place that made him a political celebrity? During an interview with radio host Sean Hannity Thursday, the former speaker told the host that while he isn´t pining to retake the position he vacated in 1999, he would not be opposed to serving as interim speaker if he had the 218 votes necessary. The comments came only hours after House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy dropped his bid to replace Speaker John Boehner, who is set to leave the post on Oct. 30. Gingrich also made the remarks after Hannity pressed him on

Las Vegas — Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump said Thursday that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl should have been executed for leaving his post in Afghanistan. "We´re tired of Sgt. Bergdahl, who´s a traitor, a no-good traitor, who should have been executed," Trump said to cheers at a rowdy rally inside a packed Las Vegas theater at the casino-hotel Treasure Island. "Thirty years ago," Trump added, "he would have been shot." It was practically an aside in a litany of complaints at the end of a more than hourlong, free-wheeling speech that included a large dose of media bashing and a

Oklahoma prisoner was given wrong drug

The wrong drug was used to execute a man convicted of raping and murdering a baby, it has been revealed. Oklahoma used potassium acetate - not potassium chloride, as required under state protocol - to kill Charles Warner, who said his body felt like it was ´on fire´ as he was put to death in January. The state´s governor issued a last-minute stay of execution last week to a murderer after officials discovered that potassium acetate had been delivered for his injection too. Warner was executed for the 1997 killing of 11-month-old girl Adrianna Waller in Oklahoma City.

ROSEBURG, Ore. — When President Barack Obama arrives here Friday, he will find a timber town still in mourning over the shooting that killed eight community college students and a teacher. But he will also find another deeply held emotion — seething anger over his calls for new gun restrictions. (Snip) "He´s not wanted here. He´s coming here purely to push his garbage, and we don´t want it," said Michelle Finn, who is helping to organize the protests planned for intersections near the small airport where Obama´s helicopter is expected to touch down.

The nation’s pork producers are in an uproar after the federal government abruptly removed bacon, pork chops, pork links, ham and all other pig products from the national menu for 206,000 federal inmates. The ban started with the new fiscal year last week. The Bureau of Prisons, which is responsible for running 122 federal penitentiaries and feeding their inmates three meals a day, said the decision was based on a survey of prisoners’ food preferences: They just don’t like the taste of pork.

Some senior U.S. officials involved in the implementation of the Iran nuclear deal have privately concluded that a key sanctions relief provision – a concession to Iran that will open the doors to tens of billions of dollars in U.S.-backed commerce with the Islamic regime – conflicts with existing federal statutes and cannot be implemented without violating those laws, Fox News has learned. At issue is a passage tucked away in ancillary paperwork attached to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, or JCPOA, as the Iran nuclear deal is formally known. Specifically, Section 5.1.2 of Annex II provides that in exchange

You know, the only thing more alarming than Donald Trump leading the Republican presidential field is the fact that Ben Carson is the guy right behind him. While establishment puds like Jeb! Bush and Marco Rubio can’t decide if they want to beat Trump or emulate him, the Good Doctor made it clear this week that he is not only willing to replicate Trump’s signature brand of hot-garbage-spewing, but he’ll say even Dumber s**t. Here is Carson from earlier in the week on the Oregon shooter: "Not only would I probably not cooperate with him, I would not just stand there and let him shoot me. I would say, ‘Hey, guys,

A prominent Black Lives Matter activist has offered a defense of violent looters who plundered U.S. cities like Ferguson and Baltimore in a lecture series delivered at Yale. DeRay McKesson, 30, was invited to the prestigious school to lecture on the movement, which began in earnest after unarmed black teen Michael Brown was killed by a white cop in Ferguson. Missouri. McKesson was hired for a two-part series, and as part of the preparation for the for-credit course at Yale´s School of Divinity, he told students to read an article which describes looting as a ´righteous tactic´.
