Opposing Donald Trump

Trump’s alt-right trolls have subjected me and my family to an unending torrent of abuse that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. I distinctly remember the first time I saw a picture of my then-seven-year-old daughter’s face in a gas chamber. It was the evening of September 17, 2015. I had just posted a short item to the Corner calling out notorious Trump ally Ann Coulter for aping the white-nationalist language and rhetoric of the so-called alt-right. Within minutes, the tweets came flooding in. My youngest daughter is African American, adopted from Ethiopia, and in alt-right circles that’s an unforgivable sin.

Donald Trump made headlines this week when he questioned whether Republican House Speaker Paul Ryan wanted him to prevail over Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. “Maybe not,” Trump told Good Morning America on Tuesday. “Because maybe he wants to run in four years… or maybe he doesn’t know how to win. I mean, who can really know?” Trump said. The view that Ryan “doesn’t know how to win,” however, neglects the reality that both Ryan and Clinton share a progressive, globalist worldview, which is at odds with Trump’s “America first” approach. Indeed, both Clinton and Ryan have said that they see themselves as

Hillary Clinton punched back at Donald Trump tonight for threatening to ´jail´ her. The Republican has said he´ll appoint a special prosecutor to look into her emails if he wins and cautioned Clinton at a debate that she´d ´be in jail´ if he were in the White House now. ´Every time Donald Trump says he wants to jail his opponent, meaning me, I think to myself, you know we don´t do that in America,´ Clinton said Saturday. ´We actually have laws and courts and an independent judiciary.´ Clinton sent out an SOS to voters thinking of casting a ballot for

Broad disapproval of Trump has pushed Clinton into a wide lead Hillary Clinton has jumped into a double-digit lead against rival Donald Trump, pushed largely by disapproval of the Republican candidate, according to ABC News’s inaugural 2016 election tracking poll. The Democratic nominee now leads Trump by 12 percentage points among likely voters. Trump’s treatment of women and his refusal to say whether he will accept the results of the election have pushed likely voters away, the poll finds. Likely voters by 69-24 percent said they disapprove of Trump’s response to questions about his treatment of women, following allegations of sexual misconduct by women

Donald Trump believes he has lost the presidential election. That´s the only reasonable explanation for the Republican nominee´s decision on Saturday in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, to reiterate his claim that the more than 10 women who have accused Trump of past acts of sexual assault are liars. Trump also said he would sue them. "Every woman lied when they came forward to hurt my campaign," Trump said at the beginning of his speech near the site of the consequential Civil War battle. "Total fabrication. The events never happened. Never. All of these liars will be sued after the election is over."

As the election nears, the media hype designed to affect the results, demoralize and demonize Trump and his supporters, and confirm the bias of its elite coastal consumers continues. Saturday’s opinion-posing-as-news lead in the Washington Post says the end is near for Trump -- the polls have him down everywhere and he was booed for crass attacks at the Al Smith dinner in New York. What do you expect from media whose reporters are literally in bed with the administration? Not only are reporters feeding debate questions to the Clinton campaign, we have a video of one of them, Andrea

Left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore said in a recent interview that Donald Trump voters are “legal terrorist[s]” and that society should treat the Republican presidential candidate as it would a pedophile. Moore made the provocative remarks in an interview with Rolling Stone while pitching a new documentary, “Michael Moore in Trumpland.” Moore said he went to union halls for the film and met with longtime Democrats who are considering voting for Trump in November. His goal, he said, was to force them “to think about the damage they could do by being a legal terrorist on November 8th.” Asked by Rolling

Secretary of State John Kerry admitted "it pisses me off" that climate change wasn´t brought up in the presidential debates. On a panel with Leonardo DiCaprio after a Thursday screening at UN headquarters in New York of the actor´s documentary "Before the Flood," Kerry said that "maybe November 8th will produce a capacity for the entire Republican caucus" to see the global-warming film. "It should be required for every single one of them," he added, to applause from the audience. Kerry emphasized that "we´re not sitting here chasing some pie-in-the-sky set of possible solutions somewhere down the road." "The solutions

STOCKHOLM, Sweden — A member of the Swedish Academy that awarded the 2016 Nobel Prize in literature to Bob Dylan says the U.S. singer-songwriter´s silence since receiving the honor is "impolite and arrogant." Per Wastberg said Dylan´s lack of reaction was predictable but disrespectful nonetheless. He was quoted telling the Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter in Saturday´s edition: "One can say that it is impolite and arrogant. He is who he is." Wastberg said the academy still hopes to communicate with the 75-year-old artist, whose award credits him with creating "new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition." The academy

Donald Trump winning the election on November 8 would cause financial markets around the world to crash by 15 per cent, experts have warned. University of Michigan and Dartmouth College professors Justin Wolfers and Eric Zitzewitz published a paper analyzing how the markets have reacted to the campaign to date, and forecast what would likely happen after November 8. To reach their findings, the economic experts tracked market fluctuations during the first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump last month, and the aftermath of Trump´s Billy Bush tape being released. ´On September 26, 2016, Hillary Clinton was regarded

MIAMI - A woman performing the national anthem before an NBA preseason game in Miami on Friday night did so while kneeling at midcourt, and opening her jacket to show a shirt with the phrase ´´Black Lives Matter.´´ The singer was identified by the Heat as Denasia Lawrence. It was unclear if she remained in the arena after the performance, and messages left for her were not immediately returned. Heat players and coaches stood side-by-side for the anthem, all with their arms linked as has been their custom during the preseason. Many had their heads down as Lawrence sang. The anthem

They called each other “darling,” “dear one” and “heart.” They told each other “je t’aime” and “j’adore,” and wrote more than 3,000 letters to one another. “All day I’ve thought of you . . . Oh! I want to put my arms around you, I ache to hold you close,” the normally reserved Eleanor Roosevelt wrote in March of 1933 to her beloved. No, not her husband, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, but a brilliant, bourbon-drinking, cigarette-smoking Associated Press reporter named Lorena Hickok, or Hick.
