‘Damn socialism, why are you chasing me?’
Chinese-Americans see ghost of communism

IRVINE, Calif.— When Saga Zhou first moved to the United States from China in 2009, she steered clear of politics. The Communist Party rules supreme in China, so most Chinese immigrants bring a built-in aversion to political involvement. But Zhou’s interest in politics was piqued as she began to see the American Left embracing policies that reminded her of those she’d fled in China. One such policy was the Left’s support for late-term abortion. When she lived in China, Zhou, like many young Chinese, didn’t consider abortion to be a big deal. But her view changed

Anyone that has experienced Socialist slavery, and escaped it can see it easily in any other country. Chinese-Americans would be one group. Eastern Europeans under Russian tyranny are another group. There are others.

Chinese-Americans in our area are a high level sophisticated bunch. Many went through great difficulty getting their money and families out of China, and particularly Hongkong before the turnover. They may think they should be Democrats, but socialism/communism is not their bag. They share their fortunes with the local luxury car dealer, whose huge handsome distributorship I have dubbed “Fort Knox”. They don’t sell just Mercedes; they sell every luxury car imaginable.

These Chinese have swept into our community and neighboring San Marino and snapped up multimillion dollar houses and mansions for themselves and their children. Many are not even occupied. Investments.

These are not sharers. They are capitalists and consumers.

Like most immigrants, Chinese vote Democrat. They do whatever asked to keep the authorities from bothering them. If that means contributing and voting Dem, they do it.

Yet, like the Jews, Chinese can´t break the habit of voting totalitarian. Perhaps that´s why Mao had such an easy time of it.

Apologies to President Trump

With the conclusions of special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe now known to a significant degree, it seems apologies are in order. However, judging by the recent past, apologies are not likely forthcoming from the responsible parties. In this context, it matters not whether one is a supporter or a critic of President Trump. Whatever his supposed flaws, the rampant accusations and speculation that shrouded Trump’s presidency, even before it began, ultimately have proven unfounded. Just as Trump said all along.

Let´s face it. The Russia probe has plagued Americans´ lives for the last 22 months. Democrats have ran with the idea that President Donald Trump colluded with Russia. Now that Attorney General William Barr has vindicated Trump, Republicans have a clear message for Democrats: it´s time to move on. It´s time for our country to heal from this disaster. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) released the following statement, saying it´s time to end this chapter in American politics:

WASHINGTON - When members of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team investigating Russia’s role in the 2016 U.S. election have arrived for work each day, they have placed their mobile phones in a locker outside of their office suite before entering. Operating in secrecy in a nondescript glass-and-concrete office, the team of prosecutors and investigators since May 2017 has unearthed secrets that have led to bombshell charges against several of President Donald Trump’s aides, including his former national security adviser, ca

I wish I could say that the worst thing about John Hickenlooper´s CNN town hall on Wednesday night was the part where he talked about watching Deep Throat with his mom. The former governor of Colorado, who is one of roughly 173 declared candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination, explained that the porno-with-mom thing was not an accident. He said he knew that the movie was "naughty" but thought his mother might enjoy getting out of the house. Apparently after the infamou

There´s no shortage of speculation on the special counsel Robert Mueller’s report, much of it totally uninformed. But we don´t need to speculate on the scope – the man who appointed Mueller has already given us a potential road map on what to expect from the special counsel. The bottom line: Do not expect a harsh condemnation of President Donald Trump or any of his associates if they have not been charged with crimes. The road map comes in the form a little-noticed 12-page letter written by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein last June to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley

At 10:38 on the morning of Feb. 4, 2019, the deputy for United States District Judge Amy Berman Jackson said, “Good morning, Your Honor. This is a sealed proceeding, and the courtroom has been locked.” It was a hearing at which lawyers for Special Counsel Robert Mueller would argue that Paul Manafort had lied to them during 12 interviews, both before and after striking his plea bargain on foreign lobbying and money laundering charges. We know what was said behind those locked doors because a word-for-word transcript was made of the courtroom proceedings.

Robert Mueller’s longtime boss appears inclined to stick it out until the end after all. Rod Rosenstein — the deputy attorney general who appointed the special counsel, signed off on all his major decisions and even spoke on behalf of the investigation at a news conference and in congressional testimony — is not ready to leave just yet, putting off his previously planned departure for at least a few weeks, a source familiar with his plans confirmed on Tuesday.

Actresses Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin are among dozens of parents, elite college coaches and college prep executives accused of carrying out a national conspiracy to get students into prestigious colleges, according to a massive federal indictment. Federal prosecutors said the scheme had two major pieces. In the first part, parents allegedly paid a college prep organization to take the test on behalf of students or correct their answers. Secondly, the organization allegedly bribed college coaches to help admit the students into college as recruited athletes, regardless of their actual ability, prosecutors said.

Now that special counsel Robert Mueller has completed his investigation, it is tempting to breathe a sigh of relief and assume that our long national nightmare is over. Resist the temptation, the assumption is false. We are not close to the end. Not by a long shot. In fact, I believe the last two years, as traumatic as they were, will prove to be the easier part of the nightmare, because Mueller dealt only with whether Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign conspired with Russia to swing the election. Based on what we know so far, especially that no more indictments are coming,
