Mayor Bill de Blasio spent $300 million to create just 3,000 jobs, a top city official admitted Monday. Testifying at a City Council hearing, James Patchett, president of the city’s Economic Development Corp., defended the slow progress of the mayor’s $1.35 billion “New York Works” program, launched in 2017. The program is supposed to create 100,000 jobs each paying at least $50,000 by 2027. Patchett said the city has spent $300 million so far investing in job training and infrastructure for companies that expand or relocate to the city. “We have made great progress

Very interesting.

A lazy, communist bum who has never had a job in his life - - creates a program called New York Works.

What could possibly go wrong?

It will be a long time before Obama´s record is topped, spending three trillion dollars to fill every highway barn in the country with ugly green and orange signs proclaiming that infrastructure work was taking place just ahead. He didn´t realize that he spent all of the money on signs.

In de Blasio´s defense he only had the New York treasury to draw upon while Obama had the US Treasury.

Trump, falsely accused of collusion, faces

A reasonable reading of Trump-Russia special counsel Robert Mueller´s findings is that President Trump was falsely accused of conspiring or coordinating with Russia to fix the 2016 election. The same goes for people around Trump who were also falsely accused. "The Special Counsel´s investigation did not find that the Trump campaign or anyone associated with it conspired or coordinated with Russia in its efforts to influence the 2016 U.S. presidential election," attorney general William Barr wrote in a letter to Congress Sunday. Several top Democratic donors have told former Vice President Joe Biden that they won’t help him raise funds in the early stages of the party’s 2020 presidential primary, CNBC has learned. Their reason: skepticism that Biden actually can win the Democratic primary. Biden, who has yet to announce whether he will run, has reached out to leading financiers over the past week to see whether they will help him raise money for a presidential run. His pitch: He will need their assistance to compete against candidates, such as Beto O’Rourke and Bernie Sanders,

Former liberal Republican California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger ripped President Donald Trump on Wednesday evening for his “absolutely unacceptable” attacks on the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ). “He was just an unbelievable person,” Schwarzenegger told the Atlantic. “So an attack on him is absolutely unacceptable if he’s alive or dead—but even twice as unacceptable since he passed away a few months ago. It doesn’t make any sense whatsoever to do that. I just think it’s a shame that the president lets himself down to that kind of level.

NEW YORK— The FBI was investigating President Donald Trump’s former personal attorney and fixer for nearly a year before agents raided his home and office, documents released Tuesday show. The search warrant, while heavily redacted, offered new details about the federal inquiry of Cohen’s business dealings and the FBI raids of his Manhattan home and office. It shows the federal inquiry into Michael Cohen had been going on since July 2017 — far longer than had previously been known. Lanny Davis, an attorney for Cohen,

If the National Rifle Association had published a political pinup calendar in 2007, Kirsten Gillibrand would have been Miss January. Seriously. The Democrat had just been elected to Congress from a Republican-dominated exurban-rural district north of Albany after running on an expansive pro-gun platform. She quickly began churning out firearms-friendly bills, including a roll-back of restrictions on gun ownership in Washington, DC. The NRA responded with a big smile and an “A” rating, its highest, and Gillibrand beamed right back. But in 2009, the wind shifted: Gillibrand was

The college admissions scandal should be the populist issue of our time. Most of the talk in our politics about how “the system is rigged” is incredibly abstract and symbolic. But this is infuriatingly concrete. On Tuesday, the Justice Department revealed a massive effort by wealthy parents and a shady “admissions consultant” to bribe and cheat their way into getting kids into a slew of elite schools. Prosecutors say William Singer, the ringleader, sold two forms of services. For tens of thousands of dollars, parents could pay to have a proctor correct

Attorney General William Barr on Sunday released the "principal conclusions" of Special Counsel Robert Mueller´s completed Russia probe in a bombshell four-page letter to Capitol Hill lawmakers, which stated definitively that Mueller did not establish evidence that President Trump´s team or any associates of the Trump campaign had conspired with Russia -- "despite multiple offers from Russian-affiliated individuals to assist the Trump campaign." Mueller´s team specifically looked into two Russian efforts to interfere with the 2016 election -- first, the work by a Russian organization, the Internet Research Agency (IRA), to "conduct disinformation and social media operations"

Now that special counsel Robert Mueller has completed his investigation, it is tempting to breathe a sigh of relief and assume that our long national nightmare is over. Resist the temptation, the assumption is false. We are not close to the end. Not by a long shot. In fact, I believe the last two years, as traumatic as they were, will prove to be the easier part of the nightmare, because Mueller dealt only with whether Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign conspired with Russia to swing the election. Based on what we know so far, especially that no more indictments are coming,
