Overall participation in America’s food stamp program fell to 37 million for the first time since October 2009, according to the latest statistics released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). The most recent USDA data revealed that 37,911,631 people received food stamps through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) in December 2018, marking the lowest level of overall participation in the nation’s food stamp program in nearly ten years. The last time overall participation in food stamps reached this level was in October 2009, when 37,672,818 people were on the government dole, according to USDA data.

It´ll go even lower when work requirements are reinstated and all illegal aliens and legal immigrants are removed from the rolls.

Isn´t it wonderful that so many no longer need the help that the program offers. Maybe, in time, even more will become self sufficient.

That´s the difference between dems and Republicans. Dems count success by the numbers that have to be dependant on government. Republicans count success by the number of people that are independantly successful and no longer need government help. Over time they become far more well off than government could possibly provide for.

Last line is important.
They should have stated how many of the 37 million are immigrants and refugees. It´s sickening that the elderly get squat while those crossing the border receive so much. Most of the Latinos that crossed that border have several toddlers and pregnant again. Here, a homeless person receives about $200 a month. Applicants with multiple children get $1200 and up. They need to cap it around $500. You can buy a wedding cake with an EBT card.

Several friends over the age of 60 receive anywhere from $15-$30/month SNAP benefits. You cannot buy much with that amount of money especially when the prices of many items have gone up 20% or more. The Food Bank is another option but the food you get there will last about a week,if you are lucky.

High-profile attorney Mark Geragos is Michael Avenatti’s co-conspirator in an alleged extortion scheme unveiled Monday by federal prosecutors, according to the Wall Street Journal. Geragos represents Empire actor Jussie Smollett, who is accused of staging a hate crime against himself. Geragos was the lead attorney in the grievance filed by Colin Kaepernick against the NFL. In which the former 49er accused the NFL of collusion, in an attempt to keep him from re-entering the league as punishment Snip) It is unknown whether Geragos, who was not named in the criminal complaint, has been arrested or cooperating with investigators.

The special counsel Robert Mueller´s Russia investigation could cost up to $35 million once all the expenses are tallied. (Snip)including direct spending and component expenses, Mueller´s investigation cost about $25 million up to September 2018. We´re still waiting on the final report for the last six months of the investigation, but based on the total costs outlined in the first three reports — $6.8 million, $10 million, and $8.5 million — the entire investigation could cost somewhere between $32 million and $35 million.

On March 4, 2017, President Donald John Trump tweeted that Obama had wiretapped him. Earlier, a front page story in the New York Times on Inauguration Day had quoted transcripts from the wiretapping. Quickly, Democrats changed their tune. Anna Giaritelli of the Washington Examiner on Match 5 filed what seemed to be a minor story, "Democratic Sen. Chris Coons backtracks on Trump campaign-Russia claim." Her story began, "Sen. Chris Coons, D-Del., on Sunday said he was not aware of any collusion between President Trump´s campaign and Russian officials(Snip) Well, well, well. Coons had proof, then poof, he had no proof.

The release on Sunday afternoon of Attorney General William Barr’s four-page summary of the Mueller report confirmed what everyone with a few brain cells and common sense knew two years ago: there was no collusion between Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and the Russian government. While the charge was ludicrous on its face, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report has now removed all doubt surrounding it. The shame of it is that the Mueller investigation—driven by hyperpartisanship and using the power of the legal and justice system to litigate political and policy differences by those who refused to accept the

Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone, hardly a fan of President Donald John Trump, had good news: Russiagate is the death of American media. He compared the press carrying of Democrat water in this case to the media´s unquestioning belief in government that Saddam Hussein had enough weapons of mass destruction to warrant an invasion in 2003. That seems an apt comparison. We in the media wanted to believe a war was justified, and so we never questioned what we were told. Worthless is the man or organization that does not learn from the past.

No summary for Judiciary Committee leaders — or the public — just yet, said a senior Justice Department official, speaking only on condition of anonymity because the person wasn’t authorized to publicly discuss the review process. Barr has said he expected to send his version to the lawmakers as soon as this weekend after determining what should be made public.
