Phil Mickelson finishes off his 5th win at
Pebble Beach and becomes 2nd player to
pass $90 million in career earnings

Associated Press, by Doug Ferguson

With plenty of sunlight and no drama, Phil Mickelson finished off a 7-under 65 to win the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am on Monday and match the tournament record with his fifth victory. Mickelson had a three-shot lead over Paul Casey with two holes to play when it was too dark to finish Sunday night — no matter how hard Mickelson lobbied to keep going — because of delays for rain and a hail storm. Casey’s only hope was for Mickelson to make a mistake on the closing holes, and there was little chance of that. Mickelson was at his best on a

Comments:
Phil´s victory #44 on Tour. Same as many other golf fans, I continue to hope against hope that he can finally complete his career Grand Slam and win the U.S. Open after a record six second place finishes.

Cheers and Bravo!

Yesterday was as exciting and entertaining a round of golf I´ve seen in a long time, like a classy three-ring circus.

That, plus a little Monday morning bonus golf.

Pebble Beach never disappoints.

Phil must have made a pact with the devil in order to keep flexibility that he has, especially in light of his psoriatric arthritis. He is 48 years old, for heaven´s sake! And supposed to be over the hill!
Great win. I salute him.

As for Casey, that was a cheap stunt he pulled yesterday. I will now root against him forever, just as I did Greg whats his name.
(The rules of golf are based on personal honesty. Casey failed that yesterday. We should keep foreign golfers out of the U.S.)

From what I saw, Phil looked like he was putting exceptionally well. He´s a great putter but I have seen him have some down days with the flatstick when he couldn´t buy a putt.

A nice win for the older guys.

Pebble Beach. Just walking the course gave me the chills. Standing where the greats of golf have played and who I´ve watched play there for 40+ years was such a thrill. Then to run into a woman who has lived across the street from the course since 1962. She immediately saw my expression upon looking at the 18th green, and proceeded to introduce me to the manager of the Inn, and to Sally in the pro shop who set up the tee times. It was a good day all around.

I had the privilege to play Pebble Beach many years ago with my husband and some friends...What a thrill! It is a magnificent place. My biggest thrill was to par the first hole. I could not believe it when the caddie handed me the putter after my chip shot! And then, I sank my putt!....An amazing day that I shall never forget.

It is a thrill to watch them play it...Phil did Great!!

Phil seemed in total control of his game, it was a clinic. Post round he thanked Casey for forcing a Monday finish, Phil admitted he wasn´t thinking that clearly as darkness loomed Sunday evening. Phil has gotten ahead of himself before.

It was a special treat to see PB that early in the morning. I´ve never seen the course in that light, it was newly beautiful, if only for a couple holes. Over all these years, I´d bet a whole bunch of regulars only know that morning light. Ho hum to them, spectacular to me.

A special weekend of golf.

I have to admit that Tiger Woods was the best golfer in the world in his prime.

But it is refreshing to hear stories of other great golfers now that Tiger has sort of faded from the headlines.

Mickelson is a good guy and a great golfer. It´s time he got the attention and accolades of the golf world for a little while!!!!

MIAMI -- As Venezuela´s path of socialism was going bust and millions of people were drowning in poverty without access to adequate healthcare or even food, a small group of military leaders, politicians and businessmen siphoned billions from the government that went straight into their pockets. One of the worst offenders is Venezuela´s former national treasurer Alejandro Andrade, who teamed up with other shady characters to pilfer more than $1 billion from his government´s coffers. Andrade had been the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez´s best friend and personal bodyguard before rising to the role of treasurer and hitting pay dirt.

Actress-turned-full-time political activist Alyssa Milano is having a hard time with reports indicating "Empire" actor Jussie Smollett might have staged the hate crime attack that he claimed was carried out by two white Trump supporters. On Sunday, Milano took to Twitter to voice her amazement that Smollett’s dubious account of the hate crime was potentially bogus. "If that man staged his own attack he is wrong in so many ways," posted the actress. "No one could be that hurtful? To stage this? Right?" YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Tito Brown can’t imagine driving a perfectly good thing out of a town that hasn’t had a perfectly good thing come its way in a very long time. At least, a perfectly good thing the size and scope of the Amazon headquarters that ideological politics drove out of Long Island City on Thursday, when Democrats including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., danced on the grave of the deal as Amazon walked away from the New York project. Brown doesn’t really get that. The U.S. Transportation Department announced Tuesday it would attempt to cancel $929 million in federal grant funds for California’s troubled high-speed rail project. The move marks an escalation in the war between President Trump and California in the days since Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a rethinking of the bullet train project after years of cost overruns. The Transportation Department also announced it was “actively exploring every legal option to seek the return from California of $2.5 billion in federal funds.” It’s unclear whether it has the legal authority to do so, and California would probably oppose such a move.In a
