´Medicare For All´: After Winning
The House, Democrats Admit They

Socialized Medicine: In the midterm elections, Democrats told voters that all they wanted to do was preserve existing insurance protections in ObamaCare. But after winning the House, they revealed their true intention: to socialize health care any which way they can. Last week, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi agreed on hearings for "Medicare for all," which would effectively outlaw all private insurance in favor of a single, government-run plan. ´´It´s a huge step forward to have the speaker´s support,´´ Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., head of the "Medicare for all" House caucus,

I don´t think Flyoverland is gonna embrace having Healthcare stolen.. again..

Bernie Sanders and Gov. Yee-Haa of Vermont tried to push Socialized Medicine through in their State a few years ago.

When cooler heads ran the numbers, Vermont would have been bankrupt in next to no time.

Obviously Bernie learned nothing from this.

This is nothing more than a scam to increase the size and power of Democrat-controlled employee unions.

The way the left will take health care away from the groups they don´t like is to let government control it.
I have no doubt that most of the lefties in the government will make it nearly impossible for a Southern white male to get an aspirin. Hillary was setting the stage for how she was going to treat most of middle America by characterizing them as deplorable.

I get treated very badly by Social Security office every time I call. Equally as bad when I go to the local office. My black friends have no trouble at all and get their problems solved with one phone call. My issue took nearly a year to solve and even my congressman failed to get it resolved after two attempts. Finally got it solved with a visit to a SS office I heard about at work located in a distant community where all the employees were old white ladies without a chip on their shoulder. I felt like I had walked into a SS office run by Chick Fil A. Everyone was smiling and nice.

The left has a history of destroying groups they don´t like. The Russians killed about 30 million. The Germans killed about 6 million. Mao killed perhaps 100 million. Pol pot killed several million. N Vietnam killed a couple million in the two years after we pulled out. Castro imprisons political opposition till they die in jail. Ortega solved the native Latin American problem in Nicaragua.

Yes, we have Medicare but we pay for it our of our Social Security. That payment is taken out each month before our checks are posted. We have to get a supplemental health insurance on top of that to really get quality health care. Nothing is free. Remember that!

Here we go again. Is the a cosmic feeling of Deja Vu all over again? Isn´t the disaster of Obamacare recent enough and the political disaster it proved to be for the Dems´ enough to give them a clue to the toxicity of messing around with the medical system in the US. The only benefit Obamacare administered was to Big Medicine and the insurance companies. Too many people saw the cost of their insurance and medical costs rising to unaffordable levels. So here we go again. The Dems´ dog and pony show is to cover the fact that they have nothing to offer the country as policies except warmed over socialism which has led to country after country to bankruptcy and decline.

Not sure all those union employees who have negotiated medical care plans will be happy to be dumped into the general population.

Or, how about those Congress people and their families. We should demand they be the first to switch their Cadillac plans into the Medicare system.

What the Democrats truly want is a whole bunch of new government workers (doctors, nurses, staff, etc), and the votes they will regularly provide.

And, like many government jobs, patronage will be prevalent with "favored" people getting preferential treatment too.

The elite will go along with this since they won´t need to participate because they will have their own concierge service care at their disposal.

#14 is correct Medicare takes almost $300 dollars a month out of our SS checks each month. We also pay almost $500 a month for our supplemental policies. That´s eight hundred bucks a month for a certainly non-Cadillac health insurance plan. You need that supplemental to encourage doctors to accept you. Most are not interested in treating you if all you have is Medicare parts A and B. What will happen to those who can´t afford basic Medicare or a supplemental? The rest of us taxpayers will be forced to subsidize that too.

Let´s see how far this goes when the big unions find their private coverage is banned. Also wonder how the hundreds of thousands of insurance company employees and agents will feel when they find out the Democrats are going to make them jobless.

The hospitals also charge the privately insured more to make up for the losses they take on medicare. I also predict hospitals will go broke and the government will have to take them over. This is probably what the Dems want as the end result.

Democrats´ promise of Medicare for All

"We have got to figure out how we pay for it. It’s unrealistic in how we pay for it today.” That was how former Virginia governor and potential presidential candidate Terry McAuliffe characterized Medicare for All, even as he was announcing his support for it. McAuliffe is certainly right about the unrealistic part, although otherworldly would be a more appropriate description. Put simply, there is nothing like Medicare for All anywhere in the industrialized world. Medicare for All proposals, like the House version introduced last month by Rep. Environmentalism: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has declared herself "boss" of the "Green New Deal." Maybe she can explain were the money will come from to pay its $93 trillion cost. Because taxing the rich won´t even scratch the surface. At an event on Friday, Ocasio-Cortez complained about criticism of the Green New Deal — much of it coming from her own party — that it´s a pipe dream. Former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, for example, said that "there are things that are great goals, but are unrealistic." Ocasio-Cortez´s response:

Health Reform: How do you enact a massive new program, and then keep it from being repealed after it fails? It´s simple. Just pull the numbers out of thin air. That´s basically what happened with ObamaCare. When centrist Democrats were deciding whether to support ObamaCare in 2010, the "nonpartisan" Congressional Budget Office told them not to worry. The law, it said, would cut the deficit. It would bring 24 million people into the new ObamaCare exchanges. Subsidy costs would be modest. And the number of uninsured would fall by more than half. Those Dems signed on.

Economics 101: When Amazon pulled out of New York, the loss of 25,000 future jobs made headlines. What isn´t making headlines are the thousands of jobs being destroyed right now thanks to the city´s new $15 minimum wage. Over the past four years, the minimum wage for New York City restaurants that employ more than 10 workers went from $10.50 an hour to $15. That´s a whopping 43% increase. Next year, every restaurant, big and small, will have to pay their workers at least $15 an hour. A big victory for workers, right?

Election 2020: When Bernie Sanders announced on Tuesday that he was running for president, the only surprising thing was how much competition he´ll have on the far left. The current crop of 2020 candidates is so liberal, in fact, that it makes the Barack Obama of 2008 look positively right wing. When Obama first ran, he tried to position himself as something of a fiscal moderate. Obama complained about "the orgy of spending" under President George W. Bush. Hidden in President Donald Trump´s State of the Union address last week — and practically uncommented upon — was the seed of a revolutionary political platform. "An amazing quality of life for all of our citizens," the Chief Executive mooted, "is within reach." President Trump defined that "amazing quality of life" in part as making "our middle class more prosperous than ever before." But why stop there? Why not refocus government on making all Americans wealthier — by reversing our culture of wealth redistribution and destruction?

Amid all the hoopla about Democrats wanting to raise taxes on the rich, they are quietly working on a bill that would increase taxes on every working family in America. Why? To fund expanded benefits for baby boomers hitting retirement. The Social Security 2100 Act would hike the combined payroll taxes paid by workers and their employers from 12.4% today to 14.8% by 2043. The bill would also apply the payroll tax on incomes over $400,000. According to the Social Security Administration, in the first 12 years alone, this would amount to a $1.5 trillion tax hike.
