Julian Castro cites 90 percent tax
on rich in defending Alexandria Ocasio-
Cortez on tax hikes

Washington Examiner, by Naomi Lim

Likely 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Julian Castro agrees with Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez that tax rates on some of the wealthiest Americans should skyrocket. "Oh, I can support folks at the top paying their fair share," Castro told ABC News´ "This Week" on Sunday when asked directly whether he could endorse the high-profile New York Democrat´s idea. The Obama-era Housing and Urban Development secretary, who is expected to officially announce he´s running for the White House this week, made the comments after Ocasio-Cortez caught flak for suggesting people earning more than $10 million could be taxed between "60 or 70 percent."

It is so irritating to hear over and over again the idea of the rich paying their "fair share". Fair means equitable and proportional. How about 10% for everyone. Why is that not fair?

The rich pay the majority of the taxes. Most of the wingnuts that the Democrats appeal to don´t have two pennies to rub together, much less pay taxes. Is it really so much that the rich don´t pay enough, or that the majority seeks free handouts without having to contribute anything? The slow destruction of the middle class is the actual issue here: we wouldn´t need handouts if the gvt. stopped impeding small business growth and protected American industry from foreign piracy. But the Democrats aren´t about to lift a finger to help out with that. They WANT Americans destitute and dependent upon the gvt. That´s the Left´s true endgame, to acquire power over all of us any way they can.

The imbecillic, buck-toothed irritant better known as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez would go away a LOT faster, if we just STOPPED TALKING ABOUT HER.

The same goes for the depraved, seditious leftist operatives who also advocate Marxist thinking.

This issue of socialism is going to be pushed down our throats like a spoiled child nagging constantly, and the media will drive it to a fever pitch to the point that any reasonable discussion of the ridiculousness of the assertion is going to be used to ruin a person in the eyes of the media.

Bravo #4!

The media has to have some kind of divisive controversy they create to have anything to push since they do not report factual news anymore...

IMO everyone should pay some taxes so that a tax increase means something tangible. If you don’t pay any taxes, it’s easy to promote raising taxes on other people.

I worked for a retired millionaire many years ago. When he sold his business the proceeds were divvied up to take advantage of the then tax laws. 1/3 went into a trust fund for his grandchildren, 1/3 into a charitable trust, and the last third into a personal trust fund. Each avoided him being taxed at 70 - 90%. I see some enterprising lawyer devising a plan to take advantage of the trust laws today and/or developing a plan to be made into law & hawked to specific donors to ´´advise´´ his/her rep. and senator for passage.
