Jeff Sessions suggests he may be

Former Attorney General Jeff Sessions hinted he does not plan on running for political office again Wednesday amid rumors he might challenge Democratic Alabama Sen. Doug Jones for his old Senate seat in 2020. Sessions, who President Donald Trump fired Nov. 7, did not indicate any plans to run for his old Senate seat, now occupied by Jones, in an interview with Politico. Sessions said instead, he could spend time in “the woods” with his 10 grandchildren. “No. I mean, no,” Sessions said when asked if he missed the Senate. “I could go back and spend time in the woods.

Some are not equipped to “take charge”. The notion that a senator could move on to a heavy duty administrative position at a time of massive change and reconstruction is faulty.

Lawyers don’t run things. Yet somehow they have taken the lion’s share of the seats in Congress, or so it seems. There they work as part of a very slow-moving group. Vote aye or nay or “present” and that, for many of them, is about it. Even a committee chairman is just a hall monitor of sorts.

A business leader - if he is willing to give up his business as President Trump did - is far and away the best equipped for a high-level leadership position.

So much potential, and for some reason, he was almost useless in the AG job.

I see three possible explanations for his behavior.
1. Perhaps Jeff is a whole heck of a lot more gullible and easily fooled than I think he is, and believed all these liars when they professed their innocence and sterling motives, or
2. Perhaps he is a Swamp Creature who planted himself into Trump´s campaign, intending to harm Trump form the beginning, or
3. Perhaps he was terrified of even imagining crossing the Deep State, frightened of their power, or maybe they had blackmail information on him, so just did nothing.

For whatever reasons, AG Sessions let the coup plotting criminal cabal at the top of the FBI, CIA and the DoJ run all over him and the DoJ while he was there.

Very sad.

Jeff Sessions turns 72 later this month. He´s an honorable man, but came from an era where Republicans and Democrats negotiated and sought common ground. That era is gone. There is no common ground, and nothing to negotiate anymore. The Republican party lost its vision for the country when they decided to follow Democratic leadership. The Republican party clearly needs new leadership. It needs people with vision, and a willingness to fight. Not sure that fits Jeff Sessions. There are quite a few Republicans in Congress that fall short. Thanks you service, Mr. Sessions, and enjoy retirement.

The Pentagon has responded to President Trump’s suggestion the U.S. military could build the border wall. The Defense Department said U.S. law allows the Pentagon to use its budget for border security purposes. The GOP-controlled Senate on Wednesday dealt a significant blow to President Trump by voting to advance a resolution ending U.S. support for the Saudi war in Yemen in the aftermath of Washington Post contributor Jamal Khashoggi’s slaying. Senators agreed to begin debate on the measure despite only 11 of the chamber’s 51 Republicans joining with all Democrats to support it. The legislation would require Trump to withdraw any troops in or “affecting” Yemen within 30 days; the president has threatened to veto the bill if it reaches his desk. Woke songwriters were displeased with the apparently offensive lyrics of Frank Loesser´s Christmas classic "Baby it´s Cold Outside," so they offered up a rewriting of the song that is free from offense and predictably full-cringe. In the politically correct version of the classic, a woman is not being wooed to stay over; instead, a man is basically indifferent to having her company at all. The song was first rewritten in 2016, though it recently resurfaced due to the controversy it yet again sparked with the Social Justice Left.
