Toxic metal cadmium found in

LOS ANGELES -- Jewelry with the toxic metal cadmium is showing up on the shelves of national retailers including Ross, Nordstrom Rack and Papaya, according to newly released test results. Analysis done for the nonprofit Center for Environmental Health revealed some jewelry sold with women´s dresses and shirts was nearly pure cadmium, which can cause cancer and reproductive harm after prolonged exposure. (Snip) No laws address cadmium in adult jewelry, however, and last year the center decided to check those products. Lab testing found 31 adult jewelry items purchased from retail stores were at least 40 percent cadmium, and most

In 2010 the AP reported that some Chinese jewelry manufacturers were substituting cadmium for lead; Congress had imposed usage of lead following a series of imported-product safety scandals. The “jewelry industry helped write voluntary U.S. standards following the AP investigation, but the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission did not mandate any cadmium limits.”

Cadmium plating has been used on the majority of nuts, bolts and washers used on every consumer product in the last 50 years or so.

This is ridiculous. Don´t eat your jewelry in large quantities.

Cadmium is only an issue if you ingest or inhale it. Most adult women do not ingest or inhale their costume jewelry.

The pathway for cadmium toxicity is usually inhalation and mostly for cigarette smokers.
You´re already getting a low amount from the foods you eat and the water you drink.

There is no pathway for skin exposure.

More feigned hysteria.

I try to avoid buying anything from China, especially that my grandchildren might put in their mouths. They put poison in paint on toys, they put corrosives in sheet rock that ruins houses, now cancer causing jewelry. It certainly looks intentional.
I am absolutely furious that congress voted to keep us in the dark about whether our food comes from China!

Back in the mafia’s heyday, FBI and IRS agents had a set of surveillance rules. If one mobster showed up in town, pay notice. If two arrived, be suspicious. If three or four were in the same vicinity, something was going down. And if five or more headed to the same neck of the woods, a meeting of consiglieri or La Cosa Nostra’s council was likely happening. Under the Trump administration, the U.S. is leading the charge in pushing back against the U.N.’s migration agenda--a move that is picking up support from other countries and giving political cover to those seeking to join them. The Trump administration announced last December that it would withdraw from the U.N.´s Global Migration Compact--due to be adopted by an intergovernmental conference in Morocco next month. Then-Secretary of State Rex Tillerson argued last year that the compact could undermine America´s right to enforce its immigration laws and secure its borders. “The United States supports international

The invalidation of the landmark 2010 law is certain to send shock waves through the U.S. health system and Washington after a midterm election seen in part as a rebuke to Republican efforts to tear down Obamacare.
