I liked it when the howling loonies started pounding on the bronze doors of the Supreme Court like Brett Kavanaugh was totally going to open them up and invite the freaks in to air their many stupid grievances over a hot cup of Too Damn Bad. I also liked it when Lindsey Graham dissed that silly shrieking harpy as he adjusted his tie and smirked. And I liked it when Jesse Kelly channeled Andrew Breitbart by heading down to the protest with a t-shirt that said “Hands Off My Uterus.”

Comments:
Have fun -- gloat along with Kurt.

Our opponents are the Democrats, who use insane people to agitate, attack, intimidate, burn, and kill their enemies. Democrats also use unions and the mob to stuff the ballot boxes with illegal ballots.

Trump defies California senators
with 9th Circuit judge nominations

WASHINGTON After months of negotiations and delays, the White House is moving to fill California’s three vacancies on the influential 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals — over the strenuous objections of the state’s two Democratic senators. White House officials had been negotiating with Sens. Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, both of whom sit on the Senate Judiciary Committee, earlier in the year about filling these and other federal court vacancies in the state. But that dialogue collapsed this past summer, Senate aides said.

Kavanaugh May Change Election Map
New York Sun, by Conrad Black    Original Article

This is impetuous, but I think the electoral map has changed with the Kavanaugh decision. The Democrats avoided direct confrontation and tried to sandbag the nominee by a late allegation of sexual assault from 30 years before. They gambled that whipping up post-Weinstein militant-feminist support would induce the president to say something outrageous that would split his party and drench him in another momentary shower of confected outrage, such as during the partial migration ban, the Charlottesville imputations of softness toward Nazis and the Klan, the Helsinki comments, and the detention of abandoned minors of illegal immigrants at the southern borders.

An academic hoax to expose

Much of academia has risen up in arms over an audacious year-long hoax perpetrated by three scholars who wrote 20 phony papers in various fields of gender and identity studies that used “politically fashionable” language to support blatantly outlandish conclusions. And it worked: Seven of the papers got accepted for publication before the hoax’s exposure last week, and seven more are still in the peer-review process. Only six were rejected outright. Which means the howls condemning the hoax are outrageously misdirected. To a non-academic, the papers seem ridiculous on their face.

Kavanaugh Foes Fill Senate Gallery

I was in the Senate gallery this afternoon when Justice Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed. You would have thought I was at an exorcism in an insane asylum. Perhaps you were watching on television and heard the disruptions, though you certainly didn’t see them. The attenuated audio probably didn’t catch the frightening incoherent shrieking – including the lingering screaming and howling as they were being dragged down the hallways outside the gallery. If there was any doubt that the opposition to Kavanaugh was unhinged, uncivil, disruptive, rude, and borderline nuts, my experience in the gallery made it clear.

While the political class waits with bated breath for the conclusion of the seventh FBI investigation of Brett Kavanaugh, we’ve reached the point of the debate where thoughtful people are asking questions about the Larger Meaning of the moment. As Ross Douthat notes in an insightful piece today in the New York Times, “The Meritocracy against Itself,” the enduring, seething resentments of the tip-top of the American elite are exposed. It turns out that it’s not just hard to escape high school, it’s hard to escape your freshman dorm.

The performance of women this week – from Senator Dianne Feinstein to Christine Blasey Ford to the howling mobs on Capitol Hill – made me seriously consider surgically altering my sex. They are demanding special treatment because of their sex and in the process placing all of us – male and female alike – at peril of witch hunts against men and then, in time, against all who will not bow to their rule.

“I have been to hell and then some.” When Brett Kavanaugh showed up for his confirmation hearing, he was affable and cheerful. (Snip) He was a non-controversial nominee looking to go through the process and then move on to the Supreme Court. But now Judge Kavanaugh, the sober calm jurist stayed home; instead Mr. Smith came to Washington. The Kavanaugh who showed up to the Senate hearing today had been through 10 days of hell. He came in holding his wife’s hand, and holding the anger and pain inside until he was ready to speak.

Given her background in psychology, it is not surprising that during yesterday´s testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Christine Ford should tell us that the laughter of Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge is indelible in her hippocampus. (Snip) Strictly speaking, Ford´s claim that "indelible in the hippocampus is the laughter" is nonsense. And while one would like to be charitable, believing that Ford is simply in error, in view of what seems to be her deliberately heavy breathing and sorrowful manner and tone, we must, I think, conclude that she is being disingenuous:

The death of communist tyrant Fidel Castro has yielded much-deserved coverage of the monstrous nature of his tyrannical rule. What has gone virtually unreported, however, is the direct and instrumental role Castro played in the torture and murder of American POWs in Vietnam during the Vietnam War. The story of Castro’s atrocities against American soldiers in this conflict is rarely ever told, least of all by our mainstream media. During the Vietnam War, Castro sent a gang of his henchmen to run the “Cuban Program” at the Cu Loc POW camp in Hanoi, which became known as “the Zoo.”

Lindsey Graham told "Fox News Sunday." Graham, R-S.C., a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, also made clear that Republicans "are not going to turn the hearing over to her lawyers" by allowing them to dictate which witnesses to call, or in what order to call the witnesses. If Ford´s lawyer´s persist, Graham said, "there won´t be a hearing."

Elizabeth Warren is very concerned that Americans will not approve of her dishonest scheme to leapfrog over competitors during her academic career. Elizabeth Warren claimed she was a minority “Native American” to get ahead in her career. Warren is a fraud and she is concerned it may damage her chances of becoming the next US president. In 1996 the Harvard Crimson identified Elizabeth Warren as a woman of color and Native American. In 1998 Harvard bragged Elizabeth Warren, “who is Native American”, was their only minority tenured woman on staff. Hat Tip Chris-A 1997 article in the Fordham Law Review

Nearly everybody loves music. In fact, music can often bridge the gaps between people when nothing else can. And there are few things more fun than seeing people react to hit songs. There’s definitely no formula to what constitutes a hit song, although some songs were natural hits from the first time they made their way on the radio – think about songs like “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” or “Irreplaceable.” Other tunes become smashes inexplicably. But there’s a whole different category of hits: overrated songs. Some singles have no business being popular or well-loved, and

On Oct. 14, CBS’s “60 Minutes” aired an interview with President Donald Trump — rare for its status as having appeared outside of Fox News or conservative media. Appearing the same weekend as First Lady Melania Trump’s appearance on “20/20,” this would seem to represent a new level of media blitzing on the part of an administration that’s already seen its head get plenty of free promotion during rallies broadcast on cable news.
