American Music Awards ratings
plunge 29 percent with politically
charged show

The politically charged 2018 American Music Awards produced dismal viewership, setting an all-time low rating for the annual special. According to Variety, Tuesday night’s “American Music Awards” on ABC earned a disappointing 1.8 rating among the key demo of adults age 18-49 with 6.5 million total viewers, according to the Hollywood trade publication. The total was down 25 percent compared to its 2.4 demo rating in 2017. The show – which aired on a Tuesday as opposed to the typical Sunday -- dropped approximately 29 percent in total viewers after drawing 9.2 million last year, the outlet reports.

At some point, Hollywood, which thrives on the superficial, will realize that all the political posing and leftist histrionics is threatening their fame and fortune, and suddenly fashionable
conservatism will sweep through their ranks on a wave of hypocrisy.

Did they move it to Tuesday night because nobody was watching it or did nobody watch it because it moved to Tuesday night?

I never liked Taylor Swift (too "New Nashville" for me--Hollywood with a Southern accent). Small wonder that she has gone over to the dark side of leftist politics.

I know of no one who watches any of these self serving love fests between people who feed off each other and compete for what they think is important. We, the deplorables, are expected to applaud and wait with bated breath for the insults delivered by these perfect examples of acrimonious low life who believe they have something to say that we want to hear. Who cares?

Calling this a politically charged show means what that they were given national air time to insult and defile all that real Americans hold sacred—Americans who love this country and who in no way want to hear the pearls of wisdom dropped by this bottom scraping level of dung they call talent. I couldn´t name a Taylor Swift song if I were beaten with a hose and my interest in her opinion you can hold in a thimble.

I have no interest in watching these award shows. It´s not just the politics...I don´t listen to contemporary music so the shows don´t mean anything to me. There are probably lots of us older folks like me. The same thing is going on with all the awards shows. They are just promotional gimmicks to sell more music or get people to go to a movie. Lots of us simply don´t care anymore.

A few weeks ago, there was some sort of cancer fundraiser on pretty much all the channels.

Tons of celebrities, and not one word of politics!!!!!

So you KNOW they CAN do it!!!! They just chose not to. And the crashing ratings for all these boring, political self-love shows are crashing and burning because of it!!!!

Of course, the horrible excuse for "music" that is produced these days probably doesn´t help the AMA very much either...

Not that I particularly care but 29 percent is a LOT. In the business world that would call for mass firings and a reorganization.

Speaking of which, are any numbers out yet for the dismal start of the NFL? I don´t even see scores on the news any more.

Last week there were six unique encounters between President Trump and U.S. journalists where the topic of illegal aliens and family border separations was brought up. It seemed odd at the time because the issue has not been a topic within discussion. The revelation that Christine Blasey Ford’s high school friend and onetime adult roommate, Monica McLean, happens to be a former FBI agent may have raised so few eyebrows because we’ve grown accustomed to finding the FBI lurking in the background of major news stories. The 2016 Pulse nightclub mass murderer’s father was a long-time FBI informant. The discussion must first reset to a key distinction: What we know of the DOJ and FBI events, is entirely different from what the DOJ and FBI have admitted to. #1) The DOJ and FBI have never officially said, or made a statement about, the FISA Court having sent a copy of the FISA application against Carter Page to the Senate Intelligence Committee

Why did Sen. Elizabeth Warren spend all these years claiming to be a Native American? One plausible answer might be that her family had lied to her, or were also misled about their heritage, and that Warren truly believed she was Cherokee. (Snip)The second is that Warren herself lied or exaggerated her heritage, knowing full well that her contention to Cherokee ancestry was likely nothing more than lore. She then latched on to this negligible history to gain traction in an academic field that was searching for more diversity in their candidates.
