ORLANDO, Fla. -- Frontier Airlines said a woman had to be escorted off a flight bound for Cleveland Tuesday night due to a squirrel. Frontier said a passenger boarded Flight 1612 in Orlando, saying the squirrel was an emotional support animal. The airline said the passenger noted in her reservation that she was bringing an emotional support animal, but it was not indicated the animal was a squirrel. Frontier said "rodents, including squirrels are not allowed" on its flights. The passenger was advised of the policy and asked to get off the plane. The airline said when she refused

I think a funny SNL skit would be to show an airplane cabin where every single passenger has a different "support" animal, and the chaos that ensues.

People have gone too far with this support animal business.

California regulators are nixing a plan to tax mobile phone messaging following a ruling by federal telecommunications regulators. The controversial "text tax," which drew opposition from wireless providers and business groups, had originally been introduced as a means to fund programs that make phone service accessible to low-income residents. The Federal Communications Commission last week classified messaging as an information service rather than a telecommunications service. California Public Utilities Commissioner Carla Peterman withdrew the plan "in light of the FCC´s action" on Dec. 12, regulators said Friday. Joe Lieberman, a Democrat-turned-independent who has backed Republicans, has found friends in yet another party: the ruling Communist Party of the People´s Republic of China. The former "conscience of the Senate" has been hired to represent China´s ZTE telecommunications company, which is basically a front organization for Chinese intelligence services. ZTE is under pressure in light of overdue U.S. government efforts to prevent it from entrenching a stronger position in the U.S. economy. Allen soon invited Engelhardt

This should not be surprising, given the increasingly threatening predations of climate change. In reflecting on this question, I want to suggest an answer to a single question, one that hardly covers the whole philosophical territory but is an important aspect of it. Would human extinction be a tragedy? To get a bead on this question, let me distinguish it from a couple of other related questions. I’m not asking whether the experience of humans coming to an end would be a bad thing.
