Ignored History: Columbus Sought
to End Islamic Tyranny

PJ Media, by Andrew G. Bostom

When President Benjamin Harrison issued his “Proclamation 335 -- 400th Anniversary of the Discovery of America by Columbus,” on July 21, 1892, he emphasized how the great discoverer pioneered “progress and enlightenment,” reflected four centuries later in America’s system of universal education: "Columbus stood in his age as the pioneer of progress and enlightenment. The system of universal education is in our age the most prominent and salutary feature of the spirit of enlightenment, and it is peculiarly appropriate that the schools be made by the people the center of the day´s demonstration." President Harrison also highlighted

I just finished the new book: Sword and Scimitar by Raymond Ibrahim. Give it a look. Foreword by Victor Davis Hanson.

Muslims have been on a Jihad of some kind since 636. Let that sink in. 636 to 2019.
These people are like cockroaches. The only way to solve the problem is to kill them. Because that´s want they will do to you.

This is very interesting and important. Obviously I knew Islam conquered parts of Spain for a while, but you always hear that they were tolerant and progressive. Apparently not. Why ever did I even listen to the people who said so? Those are people who mean well but are always wrong.

My son, who lived a year in Barcelona, said it’s understood that the reason why pork is so prevalent throughout Spain is because they raised pigs to help drive out the settled Muslims.

This is an excellent, informative article about Columbus and the authentic history of his times & his monumental place in it. It is a must read which should be taught in the public schools´ revived world history classes again.

The better we understand the full facts about history, -without the skewed political version now being presented, the better off we will be in understanding the times in which we ourselves are living.

In June 2016, I was in London and reported extensively on the Brexit referendum in these pages (see here, for example, and here, here, here, and here). It was, briefly, an ebullient moment. I had been assured by everyone from taxicab drivers to Tory ministers that Brexit hadn’t a chance in hell of passing, and a good thing, too, because it represented “nativist,” “racist,” and “xenophobic” (not to mention Islamophobic and economically illiterate) elements of the population. For me, as for a tiny coterie of friends, Brexit was centrally about sovereignty. The guiding question that precipitated it was Who Rules Britain?

The elite wanted a world without God and they got it. Andrew Sullivan argues that with the decline of traditional religions the godless world has embraced political cults. They are finding the resulting world an uncongenial place. (Snip) But Sullivan´s timeline is wrong. The death of God was announced more than a century ago appropriately enough, by Nietschze´s fictional madman. He already foresaw the vacuum that would come. "Is there still any up or down? Are we not straying, as through an infinite nothing? ... God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him." What

It’s hard to say with certainty whether Christine Blasey Ford has memory issues, mental problems, or is just a liar, but it is crystal clear that her allegations that she was sexually assaulted by Brett Kavanaugh aren’t true. So, when Sports Illustrated shoehorned her into announcing an award, it seemed really strange. (Snip) Of course, people get very angry when you point out the obvious fact that Ford made a false allegation. You get told, “This is why women who are sexually assaulted don’t come forward.” You should blame Ford for that. She’s the one

R.I.P. Weekly Standard. On Friday, staff at the conservative magazine were told to clear out their desks by 5 p.m. Many fans of President Donald Trump hailed the Standard´s shuttering as evidence of Trump´s victory over the #NeverTrump holdouts, but the magazine´s co-founder, John Podhoretz, insisted that is the wrong lesson to learn. "One key thing: It actually wasn´t about Trump, or only about Trump on the margins. This was far more in the nature of a weird personal vendetta," Podhoretz tweeted. One wonders if Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have any concept how pathetic and clueless their politically motivated, anti- border wall clichés look in light of the latest terror attack in Strasbourg. Their insistence, in Tuesday´s meeting with Trump, that the wall by itself would not be a panacea--whoever said it was?--and that we don´t have the Islamist threat the Israelis or even the Europeans do to justify its construction now seems extraordinarily simple-minded. In fact it always was. Under the radar and barely remarked upon by our media, that cross-border terror threat has already done something even worse

They know exactly where we are and where we have been at almost any moment in time. It’s a broad surveillance effort, affecting over 200 million Americans, designed to gather more personal data and sell it to corporations, including advertisers, banks, insurance companies, health providers, and retailers. IBM, for example, is one of the key players in this industry. Examples in the article include apps tracking people into hospital

Such a book is Jamie Glazov’s remarkable Jihadist Psychopath: How He Is Charming, Seducing, and Devouring Us; if heeded, his book could do nothing less than break the West out of the suicidal death spiral in which it seems inextricably caught today. Facebook got its start as FaceMash: a site comparing the attractiveness of female Harvard students. It was then reborn as a social network for Harvard students, Ivy League schools and then everyone. More recent surveys showed that the average Facebook user in the United States is 40 years old. That makes Facebook users less likely to start stupid viral trends, those tend to come from younger social media apps, some owned by Facebook, and more likely to be deeply engaged in politics. According to reports, once-decorated Army Maj. Mathew L. Golsteyn has been charged in the premeditated murder of an Afghani bomb maker suspected of murdering two Marines. Going all in on attacking President Trump isn’t proving to be a particularly effective business strategy for media outlets. The Weekly Standard, a 28-year old neoconservative institution, is reportedly headed towards dissolution after its founder, Bill Kristol, devoted almost three years of work to attacking the President and his supporters. The Weekly Standard will be no more. There is no real reason we are witnessing the magazine’s demise other than deep pettiness and a personal desire for bureaucratic revenge on the part of a penny-ante Machiavellian who works for its parent company. There would at least be a larger meaning to the Standard’s end if it were being killed because it was hostile to Donald Trump. But I do not believe that is the case.

Have you gotten your flu shot this year? If the answer is no - and I´m not getting one! - you´re not alone. A new study finds more than 40 percent of Americans have not been vaccinated and, in fact, don´t plan on it either. This is despite the warnings, potential dangers, and last year´s record-number of flu deaths. The survey was done by the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. People under the age of 45 were the least likely to report being vaccinated.
