NBC’s Ken Dilanian: North Dakota,
New York Having Same Number
of Senate Votes ‘Has to Change’

Washington Free Beacon, by Aryssa Damron

Original Article

Posted By:Hazymac, 10/8/2018 7:35:01 PM

Ken Dilanian, a reporter for NBC News, tweeted on Monday that the idea of North Dakota and New York having the same amount of senators "has to change" because of the confirmation of Justice Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. "It may not happen in our lifetimes, but the idea that North Dakota and New York get the same representation in the Senate has to change," Dilanian tweeted, linking to a Washington Post article about the confirmation of Kavanaugh. "Senators representing less than half the U.S. are about to confirm a nominee opposed by most Americans" (Snip) North Dakota is represented

Shear stupidity. Each state is given equal representation in the Senate. The House number is based on population. To have both houses based on population gives too much power to the large states like New York and California. There was a reason for making the House and Senate different.

´opposed by most Americans.´ Would you like to put that to a vote, Ken? If this is representative of the viewpoint of NBC, we need the FCC to investigate and revoke their license to broadcast. Next thing you know, these leftist doorknobs will be saying a vote in N.Dakota should not count. Only a NY or CA votes will be valid. This ignorance is dangerous.

Go into the Wayback Machine there Ken, and ask the Founding Fathers for a quick rewrite before ratification, why don´t ya?

Better questions are:
"Why did we allow Statehood to a puny island in the Pacific?"
"Why does Texas only have 2 Senate votes when you easily could fit 7 or 8 ´blue´ States inside Texas?"

What a drooling foolish ignorant idiotic buffoon. What really needs to happen is the Repeal of the 17th Amendment and make Senators appointed by state legislatures again, and put the states back in charge of their senators and take their control away from the political parties. You can see what’s happened in this country by parties controlling the federal government rather than the states. It’s a disaster.

Actually, Ken, the real problem is that politicians like Feinstein and Schumer have disproportionately more power than most other Senators, simply because they come from states that keep making the same mistake over and over by re-electing them. The Constitution isn´t the problem, it´s the artificially imposed rules of seniority that are undemocratic

This Moron is one of those Yokels who imagine the USA would be better if everything was a popular vote. Thy, of course would live in the most populous states so they could cheer when they trampled over everyone else.

Democrats are evil, tyrannical despots-in-training. They hate what this country is, have derided or bypassed the Constitution from the moment it was written and striven to spread their tyranny throughout the hemisphere and the world.

They tried to turn the Caribbean and South America into a ´Golden Circle´ of Slave States.

Its their writings and published philosophies that Marx, Lenin, Hitler, Goebbels, Stalin and Castro read to be inspired in their works of evil.

It was their contributions (of our tax dollars) that supported these monsters, and their votes that protected them.

And year after year they only get more monstrous!!

That´s what the House of Representatives does, Ken. They represent. Senators originally were representing their states, until the 17th Amendment. Now no one represents the states (or the people, one could say) in Congress. It´s more of a party thing.

Having more senators is a bad idea, Ken. We´ve got enough pompous jackasses running around Washington. The House is based on population. When did it become popular to say "we have more people. Therefor we should rule over you?"

They all missed a fundamental point. There is no constitutional way to change equal representation of the states in the Senate -- except with the consent of the affected states. The framers created two restrictions on the power to change the Constitution: 1) the slave trade was protected through 1808 and 2) equal state representation in the Senate could not be undone without consent. See the last line of Article Five:

The Congress, whenever two thirds of both Houses shall deem it necessary, shall propose Amendments to this Constitution, or, on the Application of the Legislatures of two thirds of the several States, shall call a Convention for proposing Amendments, which, in either Case, shall be valid to all Intents and Purposes, as part of this Constitution, when ratified by the Legislatures of three fourths of the several States, or by Conventions in three fourths thereof, as the one or the other Mode of Ratification may be proposed by the Congress; Provided that no Amendment which may be made prior to the Year One thousand eight hundred and eight shall in any Manner affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article; and that no State, without its Consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate.

From Article Five, "no state, without its consent, shall be deprived of its equal Suffrage in the Senate." So that can´t be changed even by amendment.

But I doubt that Ken Doll read that far.

There will never be a change in the number of Senators allocated to each State as the smaller States are not going to go along with any constitutional amendment that will diminish their political power in Congress.

The only way the leftists might do that is by winning Second Civil War, and that will not happen because the gals and guys with the guns would anniliate them.

They want to get rid of the 2 per state senators and let the libtard states with all the population get all the senators and rule everything. Would you want CA or NY running the feds? Hell no. The same goes for them wanting to get rid of the electoral college, which would allow only the big corrupt cities to run everything. Hell no to that one too.

The Sheer BEAUTY of the Founders:

Two bodies--the House with short terms of office directly representing the people accounting for how many Electoral College voters

The Senate to no ONE state can dominate over the interests of the others.

This was due to the state of New York having about 1 milllion people at the time of the founding and the other 12 colonies did not want to get pushed around and out voted.

A concept lost on those who either were not taught, don´t understand, are consciously try to repudiate things that work to allow socialism and totatlitarianism a foothold to take away our freedoms FROM government and personal liberty

With thanks to #37, both writers need to go back to school. In the "Great Compromise", each State would have 2 Senators, appointed by their respective legislatures, to equally represent the the interests of the States in Congress. Representatives were apportioned among the States by population, as they represent the interests of the people in Congress.

The enactment of the 17th Amendment took away the representation of the States and turned the Senate into an "at-large" House of Representatives. The 17th Amendment needs to be repealed to permit the States their proper representation.

Geraghty’s last three words — “in the same way” — are key. For 2500 years a consistent criticism of giving political power to the masses has been the question of competence. To critics like Socrates and Plato, the knowledge of history, philosophy, and facts necessary for governing are beyond the abilities of the average citizen. Hoi polloi had to spend their time making a living rather than studying these disciplines, or they were by nature driven more by their self-interest, appetites, and passions than by the rational search for knowledge of the true and good. Thus from Plato’s Republic to today’s progressive technocrats, some form of technocracy has been preferable to rule

So, when Sports Illustrated shoehorned her into announcing an award, it seemed really strange. (Snip) Of course, people get very angry when you point out the obvious fact that Ford made a false allegation. You get told, “This is why women who are sexually assaulted don’t come forward.” You should blame Ford for that. She’s the one

R.I.P. Weekly Standard. On Friday, staff at the conservative magazine were told to clear out their desks by 5 p.m. Many fans of President Donald Trump hailed the Standard´s shuttering as evidence of Trump´s victory over the #NeverTrump holdouts, but the magazine´s co-founder, John Podhoretz, insisted that is the wrong lesson to learn. "One key thing: It actually wasn´t about Trump, or only about Trump on the margins. This was far more in the nature of a weird personal vendetta," Podhoretz tweeted. (Tweet) The co-founder and former contributing editor noted that "there are non-disparagement clauses in the severance packages being

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) was unable to recover text messages from the iPhones of FBI lovebirds Peter Strzok and Lisa Page from their time on the special counsel team because the records officer scrubbed them, a new report from the DOJ watchdog reveals. Regarding Strzok´s iPhone, investigators were told that it "had been reset to factory settings and was reconfigured for the new user to whom the device was issued." The special counsel’s records officer said that she had "determined it did not contain records that needed to be retained.” She wrote in her records log, "No substantive texts,

One wonders if Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have any concept how pathetic and clueless their politically motivated, anti- border wall clichés look in light of the latest terror attack in Strasbourg. Their insistence, in Tuesday´s meeting with Trump, that the wall by itself would not be a panacea--whoever said it was?--and that we don´t have the Islamist threat the Israelis or even the Europeans do to justify its construction now seems extraordinarily simple-minded. In fact it always was. Under the radar and barely remarked upon by our media, that cross-border terror threat has already done something even worse

You can forget about buying an aftermarket ticket to Taylor Swift or, soon, to any other concert. Or, perhaps “scalping” will return to the much darker, 19th Century-style meaning. Taylor Swift, one of the more-stalked celebrities in the world, recently used advanced facial recognition technology on fans who spent their hard-earned money on tickets to attend her show. The Verge reports that it was done in the name of keeping the star safe: (Snip) So fans of Swift’s songs like “I Knew You Were Trouble” and fanatics alike were baited and switched -- the bait being the highlight reel, the

Schools in Brighton have been ordered to teach children as young as eight that people “of all genders” can have periods, as well as to install sanitary waste disposal units in every toilet room. The instructions were included in guidelines published by the local council earlier this month on ‘Taking a Period Positive Approach in Brighton & Hove Schools’, which assert there is “more work to do across all settings to prevent and reduce stigma related to periods and talking about periods”. Under the subheading ‘key messages’, teachers are told to stress to pupils that “trans boys and

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez needs a break. The Bronx-bred democratic socialist heading into her freshman term in the House of Representatives announced Monday she’s taking some time off to take care of herself before she officially starts her new job — and she’s taking her supporters along for the ride. “I’m taking a few days to take care of myself before what is sure to be an eventful term,” the incoming New York congresswoman tweeted. “For working people, immigrants, & the poor, self-care is political — not because we want it to be, but bc of the inevitable shaming of someone doing

MSNBC host Joy Reid and her guest Elie Mystal spent a segment fantasizing about Ivanka Trump being in the “crosshairs” and openly scheming about how the best way to “get” President Donald Trump would be to go after his children. The sinister conversation, in which they urged the left to put the mother and wife “in their crosshairs” occurred on Saturday’s show. “This is the first time that we have Ivanka . . . in the crosshairs . . . The only way we’re really going to get to Trump is if you go after his kids . . .

Dinesh D’Souza described Michelle Obama´s college thesis as “illiterate and incoherent.” The far-right author and filmmaker launched a scathing attack on the former first lady after she claimed that people at the most powerful organizations in the world were “not as smart” as some portrayed them to be. “Anyone who has read Michelle´s college thesis—a document so illiterate and incoherent that it was written, as Christopher Hitchens put it, in ´no known language´—will chuckle heartily at this one,” D’Souza wrote on his Facebook page, sharing a link to a Newsweek article that reported Obama’s remark. The father of Jakelin Caal, who died in United States Customs and Border Protection custody, has reportedly hired a pair of attorneys and is challenging the Department of Homeland Security´s claims of how his daughter died. Nery Gilberto Caal released a statement, through attorneys, on Saturday, claiming that he and his daughter — whom Border Patrol says died of prolonged hunger and dehydration — were properly fed, and that they had not spent days in the desert before declaring their intent to seek asylum at an official border crossing in New Mexico last week.

AFP reported Saturday that “experts” say “Western powers fighting Islamist groups around the globe are condemned to a never-ending battle if they only tackle the symptoms and not the underlying causes of jihadist insurgency.” That is true, but these establishment “experts” have no idea of the actual underlying causes, and are recommending the same counterterror remedies that have failed again and again. “The West is on the road to winning all the battles and losing the war,” warns Katherine Zimmerman, who wrote a recent report for the American Enterprise Institute. On that, Zimmerman is actually right. But she and her

Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) declared President Donald Trump was not going to get the U.S.-Mexico border wall “in any form.” “President Trump should understand there are not the votes for the wall in the House or the Senate. He is not going to get the wall in any form. Even the House which is a majority Republican, they don’t have the votes for his $5 billion wall plan. Mathew Golsteyn admitted to killing an Afghan man who was questioned and released in a 2010 bazaar terror-bombing. “At the request of many, I will be reviewing the case of a ‘U.S. Military hero,’ Major Matt Golsteyn, who is charged with murder. Joe Lieberman, a Democrat-turned-independent who has backed Republicans, has found friends in yet another party: the ruling Communist Party of the People´s Republic of China. The former "conscience of the Senate" has been hired to represent China´s ZTE telecommunications company, which is basically a front organization for Chinese intelligence services. ZTE is under pressure in light of overdue U.S. government efforts to prevent it from entrenching a stronger position in the U.S. economy. With the U.S. now in a new cold war with Beijing, no former U.S. official, let alone a foreign policy hawk like Lieberman, should be serving ZTE.

An actress and model claims she had a clandestine eight-year affair with Woody Allen that began when she was 16 years old and underage – and included threesomes with the director and Mia Farrow in his penthouse, according to a new report. Babi Christina Engelhardt, now 59, told The Hollywood Reporter that she first caught the then-41-year-old Allen’s attention in October 1976 at famed eatery Elaine’s on the Upper East Side, where she dropped a note with her phone number. “Since you’ve signed enough autographs, here’s mine!” the star-struck girl scribbled. Chuck Schumer clearly thinks that he’s got a winning issue with blaming President Trump for a prospective “government shutdown” Friday, if no budget bill is passed that includes $5 billion for border wall improvements. Since he promises that no such money will be forthcoming from the Senate, he obviously anticipates the public reacting in horror over the Christmas holidays as federal employees labeled “non-essential” stay home. But Rep. Thomas Massey, a libertarian-leaning GOP House member from Kentucky, has published an amazing graph that shows how meaningless this “disaster” really is for almost everybody:
