Jeff Flake Explains Himself
The Atlantic, by McKay Coppins

Original Article

Posted By:toledo, 9/29/2018 12:07:03 PM

Jeff Flake barely slept the night before he upended the battle for the Supreme Court. The Arizona senator had spent days agonizing over what to do with the explosive allegation that Judge Brett Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted a young woman when he was in high school. For hours on Thursday, Flake—a key Republican swing vote—listened intently to raw testimony from the accuser and the accused, searching for something like certainty. But when it was over, he felt he was no closer to knowing for sure what happened in that suburban-Maryland bedroom 35 years ago.

There is no excuse that Jeff Flake can use to justify his abandonment of Kavanaugh. Sleepless nights, calls from friends..nothing justifies the fact that he has turned his back on his constituents. Conservatives in Arizona cannot stand this turn coat any longer.

I did not believe Dr. Ford. I think she got her "information" from the Mark Judge book and perhaps her scant acquaintance of both men from her teenage years. Her "2 doors" story was not consistent with the therapist story time frame. Her inability to "remember" her transportation to and from the "party" was unbelievable. Her little girl voice, fake crying, fear of flying, and "hippocampus" inhabitants (!) did not ring true. Too bad she didn´t hook up with Harvey Weinstein. They might have created a real award-winning movie.

That’s interesting. I can understand feeling conflicted at the end of Ford’s testimony, but at the end of the day I cannot understand harboring the least bit of doubt. My profession involved a lot of counseling, so I learned to read people pretty well. I also learned not to come to conclusions until I’d heard both sides. Having done that, I feel certain that Ford may have believed she was telling the truth but that Kavanaugh was telling the truth. (Big difference!)

Why on earth was Flake put on this committee by the Republicans? He is an Independent at best and more likely a Democrat. The Democrats are in lock step. The Republicans are clueless as usual.

What’s to explain? All the world’s a stage and Flake is a ham. Now everyone is talking about his star turn as Hamlet. Yesterday’s picture of him sitting, surrounded by other senators who, no doubt are looking for the smelling salts, should be hung in the National Museum and called “The Passion of the Flake.”

He was on the committee because McCain wanted him there. That way McCain had two votes he could control (Graham and Flake).

Jeff is and has been a Communist Democrat forever. Just one of many Communist democrats getting away with being elected as republicans in order to deflate the republican voters desire to see America remain a free country and remove the Globalists money power and Communism over the people of the world.

Communists and Globalists are destroying the World one nation at a time as freedom is being deliberately sidelined for Globalist Communism and Globalist Capitalism by people who hate God our Father Creator and savoir of our soul.

There is no explanation for Flake´s evil other than a psychopathic need for the spotlight, and he learned from his fellow psychopath McCain hoe to get it - stab helpless GOP cowards in the back. A move that, fortunately for these gutter dwellers, requires not one ounce of integrity or courage.

The women who were screaming at Senator Jeff Flake in the elevator are Soros-funded astroturfed activists.

There names are Maria Gallagher and Ana Maria Archila.
Flake and Republicans got played.

They celebrated after Flake caved.!

These two heroes, who confronted @JeffFlake this morning, just changed the course of the Kavanaugh process. We??you so much, @AnaMariaArchil2 and Maria Gallagher. #StopKavanaugh pic.twitter.com/Hd4gxLWcCE

HA!
You´d think the very FIRST people that Flake would want to "explain himself to" would be his constituents! So why didn´t he call some local AZ rag that his constituents actually READ? Or why not appear on some local talk show? Crickets.
Instead, he chose to give the story to The Atlantic? Why is that?
And to further thumb his nose at his constituents, he chose McKay Coppins, as the writer. Coppins wrote The Wilderness---a book that claims to look inside the window of dirty, power-driven Republican politics.
Will Flake eventually vote yes on Kavenaugh? Dream on. His actions speak much louder than his carefully-chosen, middle of the road words.

Yes, Flake is looking for a way to stick it to President Trump.

But he probably wouldn´t have done this if Collins and Murkowski hadn´t leaned on him. Like the Democrats, they want to delay the vote, hoping the won´t have to commit. They will be happy if Democrats win the Senate in the midterms.

Now that we know McCain was behind lerners harrassmment of tea party groups, the pattern of anti republican behavior rings true. McCain may be dead, but that doesnt change the fact of what he was- a petty vindictive tiny little man. Flake fits his shadow perfectly.

"My hope is that some Democrats will say,“Hey, we may not change our vote, but this process was worthy of the institution, and we feel satisfied.”"

The crux of the matter is that Flake is delusional. Did he not hear sleazy Durbin trying to convince Kananaugh that a delay for an FBI investigation would be beneficial to Kavanaugh. What a performance. Sooo reasonable. Soooo concerned. Republican Senators and Joe Biden tried to educate Flake as to why an FBI investigation is pointless. But Flake wants to get the publicity so we take a trip through pointless land again.

"There’s no currency, no market for reaching across the aisle. It just makes it so difficult."

Reach across all you want Jeff. You can draw back the bloody stump. Vast experience has shown that trying to work with dems is a complete waste of time. Dems only pretend to reach across the aisle so that they can find suckers like Flake and McPain to manipulate. The suckers want to be seen as "leaders" and "heroes". It´s a BIG ego boost. But the results are NEVER good for Republicans. If the atmosphere is tense, it is because the dems MADE it that way. Then they blame it on Republicans and idiots like Flake allow them to sell it.

Slowly, many of the other dems are seeing the light. Graham sure just had his eyes opened.

Democrats and media commentators are noting that many Republicans are "shrugging off" the fact that Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to felony campaign finance violations which prosecutors say President Trump directed him to commit. The president, they say, is "implicated in two felonies." How could GOP lawmakers shrug that off? One little-discussed reason is that many Republicans never liked and continue to oppose current campaign finance laws. They don´t approve of limits on contributions by individuals,

EXCLUSIVE – President Trump has canceled the White House holiday party for the media, making the decades-old tradition a victim of his increasingly contentious relationship with major news organizations. The annual Christmas-season gathering was a significant perk for those covering the White House, as well as other Washington reporters, anchors and commentators, and New York media executives would regularly fly in for the occasion. At its peak, the invitation-only soirees grew so large that there were two back-to-back events, one for broadcast outlets and one for print organizations.

Before he opened fire on a crowded Christmas market in Strasbourg, France on Tuesday, 29-year-old Cherif Chekatt yelled "Allahu Akbar," Paris´ public prosecutor said Wednesday -- the first official statement pegging the deadly shooting as an Islamic terror attack. Though no groups have claimed responsibility for the attack, Islamic terrorists have a history of plotting assaults at Christmas markets — including one disrupted plot in which nearly a dozen militants sought to bomb the Strasbourg market around the millennium.

President Donald Trump said he’s interviewing candidates to replace outgoing chief of staff John Kelly, and declared it “fake news” that top vice presidential aide Nick Ayers had been certain to get the job before withdrawing. The White House now faces a potentially chaotic transition in a vital leadership role with Ayers out of the running, despite months of advance conversations with the president. The focus now turns to other candidates to fill Kelly’s shoes. Among the people Trump is actively weighing, or has mentioned as possibilities, are

President Donald Trump has settled on State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert to replace departing United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, according to three people familiar with the matter. Nauert, 48, is an unusual choice for the UN role given that she had little experience in government or foreign policy before joining the administration in April 2017 after several years as an anchor and correspondent for Fox News, including on the “Fox and Friends” show watched by Trump. Haley also lacked foreign policy experience when she took the UN posting, but she had twice been elected governor of South Carolina.

Schools in Brighton have been ordered to teach children as young as eight that people “of all genders” can have periods, as well as to install sanitary waste disposal units in every toilet room. The instructions were included in guidelines published by the local council earlier this month on ‘Taking a Period Positive Approach in Brighton & Hove Schools’, which assert there is “more work to do across all settings to prevent and reduce stigma related to periods and talking about periods”. Under the subheading ‘key messages’, teachers are told to stress to pupils that “trans boys and

Driving along the street the other day, I coasted toward a red stoplight half a block away. A pickup truck loomed large in my rearview mirror. It closed to within a millimeter of my back bumper. I couldn´t see the driver in my mirror because he was about 11 feet off the ground. I saw only the grill of his Ford F350. Or it might have been a Chevy Monstrosity or a Toyota Enormity or a Nissan Malignancy.

Dinesh D’Souza described Michelle Obama´s college thesis as “illiterate and incoherent.” The far-right author and filmmaker launched a scathing attack on the former first lady after she claimed that people at the most powerful organizations in the world were “not as smart” as some portrayed them to be. “Anyone who has read Michelle´s college thesis—a document so illiterate and incoherent that it was written, as Christopher Hitchens put it, in ´no known language´—will chuckle heartily at this one,” D’Souza wrote on his Facebook page, sharing a link to a Newsweek article that reported Obama’s remark. The father of Jakelin Caal, who died in United States Customs and Border Protection custody, has reportedly hired a pair of attorneys and is challenging the Department of Homeland Security´s claims of how his daughter died. Nery Gilberto Caal released a statement, through attorneys, on Saturday, claiming that he and his daughter — whom Border Patrol says died of prolonged hunger and dehydration — were properly fed, and that they had not spent days in the desert before declaring their intent to seek asylum at an official border crossing in New Mexico last week.

AFP reported Saturday that “experts” say “Western powers fighting Islamist groups around the globe are condemned to a never-ending battle if they only tackle the symptoms and not the underlying causes of jihadist insurgency.” That is true, but these establishment “experts” have no idea of the actual underlying causes, and are recommending the same counterterror remedies that have failed again and again. “The West is on the road to winning all the battles and losing the war,” warns Katherine Zimmerman, who wrote a recent report for the American Enterprise Institute. On that, Zimmerman is actually right. But she and her

Joe Lieberman, a Democrat-turned-independent who has backed Republicans, has found friends in yet another party: the ruling Communist Party of the People´s Republic of China. The former "conscience of the Senate" has been hired to represent China´s ZTE telecommunications company, which is basically a front organization for Chinese intelligence services. ZTE is under pressure in light of overdue U.S. government efforts to prevent it from entrenching a stronger position in the U.S. economy. With the U.S. now in a new cold war with Beijing, no former U.S. official, let alone a foreign policy hawk like Lieberman, should be serving ZTE.

An actress and model claims she had a clandestine eight-year affair with Woody Allen that began when she was 16 years old and underage – and included threesomes with the director and Mia Farrow in his penthouse, according to a new report. Babi Christina Engelhardt, now 59, told The Hollywood Reporter that she first caught the then-41-year-old Allen’s attention in October 1976 at famed eatery Elaine’s on the Upper East Side, where she dropped a note with her phone number. “Since you’ve signed enough autographs, here’s mine!” the star-struck girl scribbled. Allen soon invited Engelhardt
