Jeff Flake Explains Himself
The Atlantic, by McKay Coppins

Original Article

Posted By:toledo, 9/29/2018 12:07:03 PM

Jeff Flake barely slept the night before he upended the battle for the Supreme Court. The Arizona senator had spent days agonizing over what to do with the explosive allegation that Judge Brett Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted a young woman when he was in high school. For hours on Thursday, Flake—a key Republican swing vote—listened intently to raw testimony from the accuser and the accused, searching for something like certainty. But when it was over, he felt he was no closer to knowing for sure what happened in that suburban-Maryland bedroom 35 years ago.

There is no excuse that Jeff Flake can use to justify his abandonment of Kavanaugh. Sleepless nights, calls from friends..nothing justifies the fact that he has turned his back on his constituents. Conservatives in Arizona cannot stand this turn coat any longer.

I did not believe Dr. Ford. I think she got her "information" from the Mark Judge book and perhaps her scant acquaintance of both men from her teenage years. Her "2 doors" story was not consistent with the therapist story time frame. Her inability to "remember" her transportation to and from the "party" was unbelievable. Her little girl voice, fake crying, fear of flying, and "hippocampus" inhabitants (!) did not ring true. Too bad she didn´t hook up with Harvey Weinstein. They might have created a real award-winning movie.

That’s interesting. I can understand feeling conflicted at the end of Ford’s testimony, but at the end of the day I cannot understand harboring the least bit of doubt. My profession involved a lot of counseling, so I learned to read people pretty well. I also learned not to come to conclusions until I’d heard both sides. Having done that, I feel certain that Ford may have believed she was telling the truth but that Kavanaugh was telling the truth. (Big difference!)

Why on earth was Flake put on this committee by the Republicans? He is an Independent at best and more likely a Democrat. The Democrats are in lock step. The Republicans are clueless as usual.

What’s to explain? All the world’s a stage and Flake is a ham. Now everyone is talking about his star turn as Hamlet. Yesterday’s picture of him sitting, surrounded by other senators who, no doubt are looking for the smelling salts, should be hung in the National Museum and called “The Passion of the Flake.”

Anyone with one ounce of a brain can see right thru the dems. Guess that leaves flake out.

He was on the committee because McCain wanted him there. That way McCain had two votes he could control (Graham and Flake).

Jeff is and has been a Communist Democrat forever. Just one of many Communist democrats getting away with being elected as republicans in order to deflate the republican voters desire to see America remain a free country and remove the Globalists money power and Communism over the people of the world.

Communists and Globalists are destroying the World one nation at a time as freedom is being deliberately sidelined for Globalist Communism and Globalist Capitalism by people who hate God our Father Creator and savoir of our soul.

There is no explanation for Flake´s evil other than a psychopathic need for the spotlight, and he learned from his fellow psychopath McCain hoe to get it - stab helpless GOP cowards in the back. A move that, fortunately for these gutter dwellers, requires not one ounce of integrity or courage.

He is not a leader, not a decision maker, and not aware that he is being manipulated.

The women who were screaming at Senator Jeff Flake in the elevator are Soros-funded astroturfed activists.

There names are Maria Gallagher and Ana Maria Archila.
Flake and Republicans got played.

They celebrated after Flake caved.!

These two heroes, who confronted @JeffFlake this morning, just changed the course of the Kavanaugh process. We??you so much, @AnaMariaArchil2 and Maria Gallagher. #StopKavanaugh pic.twitter.com/Hd4gxLWcCE

HA!
You´d think the very FIRST people that Flake would want to "explain himself to" would be his constituents! So why didn´t he call some local AZ rag that his constituents actually READ? Or why not appear on some local talk show? Crickets.
Instead, he chose to give the story to The Atlantic? Why is that?
And to further thumb his nose at his constituents, he chose McKay Coppins, as the writer. Coppins wrote The Wilderness---a book that claims to look inside the window of dirty, power-driven Republican politics.
Will Flake eventually vote yes on Kavenaugh? Dream on. His actions speak much louder than his carefully-chosen, middle of the road words.

Yes, Flake is looking for a way to stick it to President Trump.

But he probably wouldn´t have done this if Collins and Murkowski hadn´t leaned on him. Like the Democrats, they want to delay the vote, hoping the won´t have to commit. They will be happy if Democrats win the Senate in the midterms.

Now that we know McCain was behind lerners harrassmment of tea party groups, the pattern of anti republican behavior rings true. McCain may be dead, but that doesnt change the fact of what he was- a petty vindictive tiny little man. Flake fits his shadow perfectly.

"My hope is that some Democrats will say,“Hey, we may not change our vote, but this process was worthy of the institution, and we feel satisfied.”"

The crux of the matter is that Flake is delusional. Did he not hear sleazy Durbin trying to convince Kananaugh that a delay for an FBI investigation would be beneficial to Kavanaugh. What a performance. Sooo reasonable. Soooo concerned. Republican Senators and Joe Biden tried to educate Flake as to why an FBI investigation is pointless. But Flake wants to get the publicity so we take a trip through pointless land again.

"There’s no currency, no market for reaching across the aisle. It just makes it so difficult."

Reach across all you want Jeff. You can draw back the bloody stump. Vast experience has shown that trying to work with dems is a complete waste of time. Dems only pretend to reach across the aisle so that they can find suckers like Flake and McPain to manipulate. The suckers want to be seen as "leaders" and "heroes". It´s a BIG ego boost. But the results are NEVER good for Republicans. If the atmosphere is tense, it is because the dems MADE it that way. Then they blame it on Republicans and idiots like Flake allow them to sell it.

Slowly, many of the other dems are seeing the light. Graham sure just had his eyes opened.

President Trump said the Department of Justice and FBI allowed the Russians to create divisiveness in the U.S. by so easily opening up an investigation into Russian collusion after the 2016 election. “Our Justice Department and FBI played right into their hands with the stupid investigation or whatever you call it,” Trump said during an interview aired Tuesday on Fox Business. Trump said that the Russians wanted to create chaos in the U.S. with their meddling in the presidential election, and he says they got that and they are now “laughing at us.” Trump maintained his defense in the Russia investigation,

LOS ANGELES — When Chris Pratt is running his fastest, he has a tendency to fall. The “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Jurassic World” star broke a femur growth plate as a kid, leaving him less than confident in his sprinting abilities — and a bit self-conscious about some action scenes. “My leg grew in a little funny. So when I run, I run a little crooked. And if I run at top speed, there’s a high likelihood I will fall down,” he said. “My high school football highlight tape was all just images of me falling down

Watch–Beto O’Rourke to Black American:

During a town hall event on Wednesday night, Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) — running against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) for the Senate seat — told a black American who questioned his support of illegal immigration that illegal aliens from Central America and Mexico are today’s cotton pickers. O’Rourke’s remarks were made after a black American asked the congressman if he supported illegal aliens being given U.S. citizenship despite breaking the country’s immigration laws. O’Rourke responded by saying that it is illegal aliens who are working at cotton gins today. The exchange went as follows:

While he won’t be on the ballot this November, President Trump and his performance in office will be a key issue in this year’s midterm elections. But before the campaigning starts in earnest, TV news reporters have saturated the airwaves with subjective language about the President’s emotional state, most of it casting him as an out-of-control hothead. MRC analysts looked at every broadcast evening news story about the President from January 1 through September 10, and tallied the various words reporters have used this year to describe Trump’s state of mind, grouping them by category. Broadcast journalists were most likely to

President Trump’s coming collision with the United Nations could be something to behold. Later this month he’s due to chair the Security Council, where he may give the striped pants set a piece of his mind in respect of Iran. He’s barreling toward a showdown with the International Criminal Court. He’s cut off funding to the UN Relief and Works Agency. Watch out for the International Monetary Fund. We characterize the coming reckoning as being with the United Nations because all of these institutions are in one way another either parts of or spawn of the world body. S

One of the most intriguing questions in respect of President Trump is why he was the only businessman to throw himself heart-and-soul into the race for the presidency. Americans, after all, are a people who celebrate capitalism. So why did the other billionaires fail to make a similar effort, throwing themselves hook, line, and personal jetliner into the race to lead America out of the Great Recession? We ask because of the remarks this week of the chairman of J.P. Morgan Chase, Jamie Dimon.

Bob Woodward´s new book Fear: Trump in the White House, is filled with extended accounts of behind-the-scenes conversations between major players in the Trump campaign and administration. There´s no need to give examples; almost every page has dialogue that is presented, in quotation marks, with the implicit assurance that the author knows precisely what was said. Of course, Woodward did not hear every word uttered by every character in the book. So any reader would ask: How does he know exactly what they said? Woodward anticipated such questions in a note to readers,

President Trump cancelled his November trip to Ireland, dodging mass protests that had been planned to greet him on the Emerald Isle, officials in Dublin said Tuesday. The government of Prime Minister Leo Varadka confirmed in a statement that “the proposed visit of the U.S. president on Nov. 12 was postponed” and that Washington “cited scheduling reasons.” The commander-in-chief would have traveled to Ireland during the same trip that puts him in Paris on Nov. 11 to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I. The Paris trip is still on, according to White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.

Elizabeth Warren is very concerned that Americans will not approve of her dishonest scheme to leapfrog over competitors during her academic career. Elizabeth Warren claimed she was a minority “Native American” to get ahead in her career. Warren is a fraud and she is concerned it may damage her chances of becoming the next US president. In 1996 the Harvard Crimson identified Elizabeth Warren as a woman of color and Native American. In 1998 Harvard bragged Elizabeth Warren, “who is Native American”, was their only minority tenured woman on staff. Hat Tip Chris-A 1997 article in the Fordham Law Review

Nearly everybody loves music. In fact, music can often bridge the gaps between people when nothing else can. And there are few things more fun than seeing people react to hit songs. There’s definitely no formula to what constitutes a hit song, although some songs were natural hits from the first time they made their way on the radio – think about songs like “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” “Total Eclipse of the Heart,” or “Irreplaceable.” Other tunes become smashes inexplicably. But there’s a whole different category of hits: overrated songs. Some singles have no business being popular or well-loved, and

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) launched a bizarre Twitter rant late Monday afternoon following the disastrous rollout of DNA results that further debunked her decades-long claim to American Indian ancestry. Warren’s thread of 20-plus (and counting) tweets began at about 5:30 p.m. ET, where she attempted to both insult President Trump and defend herself. In her first tweet, and without any evidence, Warren made the outlandish claim that Trump “makes creepy physical threats about me.” The truth is that all Trump has ever done is ridicule her false claims about being Cherokee. “We all know why @realDonaldTrump makes creepy

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, unless it’s a shredded Banksy, obviously, which is worth around £1m. But how to put a value on the majestic artwork Donald Trump was revealed to have gracing the wall outside the Oval Office, as eagle-eyed viewers of 60 Minutes spotted? (Snip) Barack Obama has a taste for modern art; George W Bush is a (not half bad) painter himself; so what of Trump’s choice? The painting, showing former Republican presidents (which some have likened to Dogs Playing Poker) was painted in oil by Andy Thomas, who is more often found

U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren has released a DNA test that shows “strong evidence” she has Native-American heritage, rebutting President Donald Trump’s ridicule of her as “fake Pocahontas” while she signals a possible 2020 presidential run. Warren, a Massachusetts Democrat, said last month she would take a “hard look” at running for the Democratic nomination to challenge Republican Trump in 2020. She and Trump clashed frequently through the 2016 presidential campaign and Trump has cast aspersions on her claim to Native-American ancestry. “When I decided to run for Senate in 2012, I never thought that my family’s Native American heritage would come

Elections: American democracy has a problem — a voting problem. According to a new study of U.S. Census data, America has more registered voters than actual live voters. It´s a troubling fact that puts our nation´s future in peril. The data come from Judicial Watch´s Election Integrity Project. The group looked at data from 2011 to 2015 produced by the U.S. Census Bureau´s American Community Survey, along with data from the federal Election Assistance Commission. As reported by the National Review´s Deroy Murdock, who did some numbers-crunching of his own, "some 3.5 million more people are registered to vote

On Oct. 14, CBS’s “60 Minutes” aired an interview with President Donald Trump — rare for its status as having appeared outside of Fox News or conservative media. Appearing the same weekend as First Lady Melania Trump’s appearance on “20/20,” this would seem to represent a new level of media blitzing on the part of an administration that’s already seen its head get plenty of free promotion during rallies broadcast on cable news. And, like Melania Trump’s utterly-on-message, relentlessly forward-moving TV interview, the President’s interview had effectively the same impact as a rally; it allowed him to bulldoze his chief

WASHINGTON - Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren, ridiculed by U.S. President Donald Trump as “Pocahontas” for claiming Native American heritage, hit back on Monday with DNA evidence she said supported her assertion, a possible preview of a bare-knuckles presidential campaign in 2020. On Monday a federal judge dismissed Stormy Daniels’ defamation suit against President Trump. Stormy filed a defamation suit against President Trump after he mocked her over a sketch of the man who allegedly threatened her–the man in the sketch looked eerily like her ex-husband. The U.S. District Judge dismissed the case on grounds Trump’s tweet was “rhetorical hyperbole,” not defamatory as Stormy Daniels alleged. The federal judge also ordered Stormy to pay Trump’s legal fees! On Tuesday morning President Trump tweeted out a warning to “horseface” Stormy Daniels and her “third rate lawyer” Michael Avenatti.

When all else fails, change the system. Leftist luminaries, who weren´t able to stop the confirmation of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, suggested in the aftermath that Americans should consider reforming the Senate. Reminded that expanding the Senate would require a Constitutional Amendment, they´ve now, apparently, resorted to "reforming" the other half of the bicameral legislature, the House of Representatives. NBC News reports that some Democratic activists are suggesting that to even out the "balance of power" the size of the House should grow as much as double its current size."Expanding the House of Representatives would be a vast improvement
