Rosenstein proposed secretly recording
conversations with Trump, invoking
25th Amendment:NYT

The Hill, by John Bowden

Original Article

Posted By:toledo, 9/21/2018 2:19:02 PM

Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein proposed secretly recording conversations in the Oval Office with President Trump last year and discussed the possibility of Cabinet officials invoking the 25th Amendment to remove the president, according to The New York Times. The newspaper, citing people familiar with the matter, reported on Friday that Rosenstein made comments to other Justice Department officials in meetings in spring 2017 about secretly recording Trump after the president fired FBI Director James Comey.

“A Justice Department spokeswoman provided a comment to the Times from a person who was present for the discussions, saying Rosenstein´s remarks were meant to be taken as sarcasm.”

Something smells, and it’s probably Rosenstein. While Justice says Rod’s was being sarcastic, this was also the time when Rosenstein was involved with signing the last of 4 perjurious FISA warrant requests. Weasel Rod wasn’t being sarcastic when he attested to the integrity of the warrant, so why was he supposedly being flippant with the 25th Amendment suggestion?

Perhaps if this event happened 37+ years ago, Democrats would be outraged. 17 months ago, not so much. And tell me again, why is Rosenstein still basically in charge of the DoJ?

A number of Republicans on Capitol Hill are treading cautiously in the wake of Michael Cohen´s allegations that President Trump directed him to arrange hush-money payments with two women because, according to Cohen, then-candidate Trump "was very concerned about how this would affect the election" if their allegations of affairs became public. Democrats and media commentators are noting that many Republicans are "shrugging off" the fact that Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to felony campaign finance violations which prosecutors say President Trump directed him to commit. The president, they say, is "implicated in two felonies." How could GOP lawmakers shrug that off? One little-discussed reason is that many Republicans never liked and continue to oppose current campaign finance laws. They don´t approve of limits on contributions by individuals,

The annual Christmas-season gathering was a significant perk for those covering the White House, as well as other Washington reporters, anchors and commentators, and New York media executives would regularly fly in for the occasion. At its peak, the invitation-only soirees grew so large that there were two back-to-back events, one for broadcast outlets and one for print organizations.

The former "conscience of the Senate" has been hired to represent China´s ZTE telecommunications company, which is basically a front organization for Chinese intelligence services. ZTE is under pressure in light of overdue U.S. government efforts to prevent it from entrenching a stronger position in the U.S. economy. Chuck Schumer clearly thinks that he’s got a winning issue with blaming President Trump for a prospective “government shutdown” Friday, if no budget bill is passed that includes $5 billion for border wall improvements. Since he promises that no such money will be forthcoming from the Senate, he obviously anticipates the public reacting in horror over the Christmas holidays as federal employees labeled “non-essential” stay home. But Rep. Thomas Massey, a libertarian-leaning GOP House member from Kentucky, has published an amazing graph that shows how meaningless this “disaster” really is for almost everybody:
