Jamie Dimon Stands Down
New York Sun, by Editorial

Original Article

Posted By:Toledo, 9/13/2018 10:35:13 AM

One of the most intriguing questions in respect of President Trump is why he was the only businessman to throw himself heart-and-soul into the race for the presidency. Americans, after all, are a people who celebrate capitalism. So why did the other billionaires fail to make a similar effort, throwing themselves hook, line, and personal jetliner into the race to lead America out of the Great Recession? We ask because of the remarks this week of the chairman of J.P. Morgan Chase, Jamie Dimon.

Why? Because the political class does not want capitalists intruding in ´´their´´ bubble, except at campaign donation time.

Most billionaires probably have just as many skeletons in their past as do professional politicians. The difference is that the professional politicians will be protected by the rest of the political class (including the media), while the businessman will not. Every scrap of negativity in his past will be revealed and exaggerated 24/7.

That is the thing, I think, that infuriates the political class and media about President Trump. They seemingly found a few things that are relatively mild, in his past (things he said, alleged affairs) and tried to make those mole hills into mountains.

Trouble is, Americans still support the President, and understand that the good he is doing far outweighs any of the left´s bleating. Result: Trump Derangement Syndrome!

Americans are no longer captive audiences to the democrat´s propaganda, channeled through the liberal media. We have many other sources for the truth, and know where to find them.

Dimon demonstrated his arrogance and why he is a fool. Dimon won´t run, because with his personality, he would get no support -- and he is not smarter than PDT, nor would Dimon do well in a fight with PDT, demonstrated by how quickly he retreated. The only thing Dimon accomplished was to make a fool of himself, and forever diminish himself in the eyes of the public.

We have a hybrid economic system with elements of capitalism, or free market if you prefer, and aspects more akin to the economic practices of Hitler’s fascism. The left is fond of pointing out the fascist aspects and attributing them to capitalism.

Our corrupt politicians have learned how to grow rich by selling favor to those in private business in return for campaign contributions, cushy jobs for relatives, insider trading tips you name it. Look at the wealth of the long term members in the 535 club. You can’t’ explain half of it by wealth earned prior to “public service” or the government wage. Think Comey and Lockheed Martin.

You can only get so rich off of free markets. If you get too greedy someone undercuts you. But if they are regulated or taxed out of the competition your profits go up. There is an incentive similar to the incentive that makes the free market work, to embrace fascist favor if it is available.

The genuine greedy fat cats living at least in part off of “crony capitalism” which I see as a level of fascism, will resist deregulation because regulations are a means of handing out favors. If they are getting tax rate favors they don’t want any competition to get lower tax rates or the differential gap to close.

Of course they hate Trump.

FTA:

He has fetched up at the top of the Drudge Report with a boast, made at his bank’s headquarters, that he could defeat Mr. Trump in a presidential contest. “Because I’m as tough as he is. I’m smarter than he is. I would be fine. He could punch me all he wants. It wouldn’t work with me. I’d fight right back.”

Good for him, we thought — until Mr. Dimon backtracked faster than a lobster at a clambake.

This would have been fun to watch.

Chase alienated many customers in the Seattle area when the took over Washing Mutual. WaMu was a great bank until their CEO got greedy. Dimon truly angered many customers in Seattle. Admittedly the blowback on Chase did cause some improvements.

A number of Republicans on Capitol Hill are treading cautiously in the wake of Michael Cohen´s allegations that President Trump directed him to arrange hush-money payments with two women because, according to Cohen, then-candidate Trump "was very concerned about how this would affect the election" if their allegations of affairs became public. The allegations about Trump´s motives, leveled during an exclusive interview with ABC News, by the president´s former personal attorney and fixer, came on the heels of Cohen being sentenced to three years in prison f

One can partly understand why Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the hilariously ignorant young socialist recently elected to a House seat from The Bronx and Queens, has soared to the top of the Republicans’ naughty list. For one thing, the Democrats and their reliably obsequious media allies already have elevated her far above what one might expect for a safe-seat shoo-in from an abjectly Democratic district who has not yet served a single day in office:

Democrats and media commentators are noting that many Republicans are "shrugging off" the fact that Michael Cohen pleaded guilty to felony campaign finance violations which prosecutors say President Trump directed him to commit. The president, they say, is "implicated in two felonies." How could GOP lawmakers shrug that off? One little-discussed reason is that many Republicans never liked and continue to oppose current campaign finance laws. They don´t approve of limits on contributions by individuals,

EXCLUSIVE – President Trump has canceled the White House holiday party for the media, making the decades-old tradition a victim of his increasingly contentious relationship with major news organizations. The annual Christmas-season gathering was a significant perk for those covering the White House, as well as other Washington reporters, anchors and commentators, and New York media executives would regularly fly in for the occasion. At its peak, the invitation-only soirees grew so large that there were two back-to-back events, one for broadcast outlets and one for print organizations.

President Donald Trump has settled on State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert to replace departing United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, according to three people familiar with the matter. Nauert, 48, is an unusual choice for the UN role given that she had little experience in government or foreign policy before joining the administration in April 2017 after several years as an anchor and correspondent for Fox News, including on the “Fox and Friends” show watched by Trump. Haley also lacked foreign policy experience when she took the UN posting, but she had twice been elected governor of South Carolina.

This is despite the warnings, potential dangers, and last year´s record-number of flu deaths. The survey was done by the National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago. People under the age of 45 were the least likely to report being vaccinated.
