Dear LDot family and friends,
Everyday we get tons of email here at LdotHQ. Many of you write in needing a lost password or to be placed on our waiting list. The mail also includes such questions as: 'Why was my post closed?. 'Why is 'x' not a news site?', Why can't I post?', 'Why was my post cut off?', and etc. But, this is just a sampling of the hundreds of emails that our mail server processes each and every day.

Like many businesses which depend on email to communicate with their 'customers' we are also slammed with more than our share of 'spam' [not the kind Igor prefers, either] and emails laden with those pesky and dangerous emails that contain viruses that could harm our server.

About 6 weeks ago we began using a mail-filtering system to weed out those bulk emails and to quarantine suspicious emails sent to our LComHQ email addresses. Still I am going thru hundreds of emails that are held for manual approval that could have made it straight thru.

If you are using an email account like Yahoo! or Hotmail or any of the thousands of free email services on the web, your email will not go thru to us automatically. If you send several emails at once to more than one of our email addresses, that will 'tag' it as well. All email with attachments is held as well - and this includes all artwork within an HTML page that is the background for some lovely stationary. Your best bet is to send email from your work or home email address and use plain text and not stationary when writing in to us.

Before you send that email to us: Be sure and include your user name and password with any inquiry if at all possible. And make sure [AOL users especially] that you have set your email controls to accept email from us. We must get at least 15 emails returned to us per day from AOL from those of you who want your passwords saying you will not accept email from us.
