Prayers for Tony Snow
Lucianne.com

Posted By:LComEditor, 2/16/2005 12:22:03 AM

Tony, as he announced on his Fox Radio Show yesterday, has colon cancer. He will be operated on early next week to have his colon removed. His spirits are amazingly high and his humor unchanged. He said that after the announcement he got word that folks were praying for him and it literally made him feel better. Let's not let it stop. You've got the power. Leave your messages and prayers here for Tony and his beautiful family or email him at Tonysnow@aol.com. Go ahead, clog up his mailbox. He can always empty it and start again.
He plans to have a broadcast set up put in his house while he recuperates. He'll need your calls and support then, too.

Eagles Up!
Lucianne and the entire LComStaff

This is awful. My thoughts go out to him and those who are near and dear to him. He's always struck me as mild-mannered and affable, something that's rare in the bombastic news media world of today.

Reply 16 - Posted by: mominNoCA, 2/16/2005 12:56:42 AM

Truly a shock. He's so young, too.

My prayers are for your full recovery Tony. May God be with you through your ordeal. I must say, I do not understand why bad things happen to, what I consider good people, and the evil keep on truckin'. I leave it that God in his infinite wisdom has a plan. May God also be with your family at this time. Amen

Tony: I, too, was diagnosed with colon cancer at age of 50...6 years ago.
By the grace of God, I survived the cancer and the chemo.
Take all necessary steps and don't look back.
Trust in God is the basic requirement....love your fellow man....leave ALL negative thoughts behind...you will need positive to get through this.
God and attitude is EVERYTHING!!!

You and your family will be in our prayers as you all go through this very difficult time.

Sincere best wishes for a very speedy recovery.

Be at Peace

Do not look forward in fear
to the changes of life;
rather look to them with full hope
that as they arise, God,
whose very own you are,
will lead you safely through all things;
and when you cannot stand it,
God will carry you in his arms.
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow;
The same everlasting Father
who cares for you today
will take care of you today and every day.
He will shield you from suffering,
or will give you unfailing
strength to bear it.
Be at peace ~ and put aside
all anxious thoughts and imaginations.

St. Francis de Sales

Be well, friend. You are needed here.

Shalom Chevarim.

To Tony and your family:

The L-rd bless you and keep you;
The L-rd make His face shine upon you,
and be gracious unto you;
The L-rd lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)

. . .and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. (Matthew 28:20(b))

May you and your family be assured of His loving presence now and always.

Shalu Shalom Yerushaliyim.

Our prayers are with you and your family Tony.

"I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."~Psalm 18:1-2~

Reply 43 - Posted by: losgatos, 2/16/2005 1:48:55 AM

Our prayers are with Tony. My husband has Stage IV colon cancer, metasticized to the liver and, more recently, lungs.

Please, please...all of you, if you have any family history of colon cancer or have reached age 50, arrange to have a colonoscopy. I know it isn't a pleasant thought but colon cancer is one of the more preventable cancers. You might save your own life.

Reply 44 - Posted by: antidem, 2/16/2005 1:54:35 AM

Win this one, Tony!

Prayers for your recovery,

Reply 45 - Posted by: muckymuck, 2/16/2005 1:55:25 AM

Tony, I pass on to you my Deat Father-In-Law's favorite prayer:

Book of Number, Chapter 6, Verses 24-26
The Lord bless and keep you!
The Lord let His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!
The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace!
God Bless Tony.

Reply 46 - Posted by: Stars-stripes, 2/16/2005 1:57:23 AM

Tony, our family will be thinking of you often in the near future. We know that with the prayers that are going out for you and your family, the result will be positive for you, and your recuperation time will be brief. God Bless.

Tony,
As you can see by all of these posts, you've got a lot of people in your corner sending prayers and support. We are so very sorry that you didn't get better news, but hope that the treatment will be just what you need to live a long, healthy life. Best wishes to your family for the surgery and beyond. And remember, when you need a cyber shoulder to cry on, we L.Dotters are always here.

Reply 48 - Posted by: Pam Torson, 2/16/2005 2:01:02 AM

Tony Snow and family,

Know this -- that the midnight pajama prayer brigade is on the march, praying to Almighty God to carry you through this time, and to work miraculous healing in your body, and to give peace through this trial to both to you and to all who love you. More enforcements at dawn.

Jesus said in Matthew's gospel (18:19-20): ''Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.''

By my calculations, there are way more than two or three here in agreement in prayer that God will give total healing to Tony Snow.

(to be continued)

Reply 49 - Posted by: Char, 2/16/2005 2:03:29 AM

Tony, we love you and we love your show. May God be with you throughout your ordeal, and we pray that He sees you through a speedy recovery and back on the TV well and happy.
Love You, Syd and Charlene

Reply 50 - Posted by: Pam Torson, 2/16/2005 2:06:05 AM

Also, Jesus said in Matthew 21:21-22: ''I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.''

Together with my brothers and sisters in the Lord, Jesus Christ, I pray that the mountain of cancer will be removed from Tony Snow and cast far away and that God's healing power would come upon him to heal completely. Amen.

Tony dearest –
As you, and your family can read, we of the L-dot Brigade love & care for you all. Many who post here are survivors/conquerors of cancer, as well as people of Faith in our Loving Father. May you, your wife, kids, & extended family be assured that you will be in our prayers. We are assured that the God of all Grace will give you His Peace and Strength “in the midst” of this uncertain, confusing & painful time.

From an entirely practical viewpoint (from a 4-time survivor of cancer):
1. Don’t feel like a martyr/wimp when you are in pain. TAKE the pain meds on schedule. You’ll heal faster.
2. At first, ask a friend to be your ‘advocate’ in communicating how you’re doing to those outside your family. Comforting & explaining to others how you’re doing is exhausting, and you’ll need your strength to get well.
3. Minimize outside stressors.
4. Always carry Kleenex. Your emotions may wildly swing, and it’s stressing to have tears & snot running down your face while hunting for Kleenex. :-))

We love you!
PLPointer

Tony, you are loved far more than you realize. In your own understated way, you glorify God in the way you handle yourself, the way you stand up for moral values and your kind demeanor with everyone who sits across the desk from you.

Your Lord can do wondrous things! I believe that and will be praying in faith for your complete recovery.

Tony...I pray for the wisdom of the doctors, for a calm operating room, for peace in your heart as you undergo your surgery, for your family to not be anxious.

Rest in the arms of God as he heals you. Be patient, positive, and filled with peace.

You are so needed and I pray you will be able to continue your much valued work for the American people.

I will lift you, your family, and your medical staff up in my prayers continually today and until we hear you are healthy.

We love you!

Dear Mr. Snow,

For so long it's been a great pleasure to listen to your pointed questions that come from the good part of town where reasonableness prevails. With your underlying wit and clear tones, life was just a little bit more sane.

We pray and ask for St. Michael's light of protection upon you and your family through the challenges you face. May God grant you the strength to face this battle. May He have the prayers of us all heard and answered to aid you in victory.

Kind regards,

'God hath not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind.'

the above has meant so much to me for years. It comes from the new testament.

Tony, during the coming days, you will experience fear, its a natural thing for mortal beings. You will suffer weakness, feel lonely, and have some self doubt.

none of this will come from your Heavenly Father. It comes from within our frail
existence.

God promises to help you with that.

Reply 152 - Posted by: wise_n_texas, 2/16/2005 9:31:51 AM

We had no idea. Of course our prayers are with this fine man and his family.

Tony's faith and the loving support of his family and friends will see him through this dark tunnel.

Reply 160 - Posted by: jasmine, 2/16/2005 9:44:25 AM

Dear Tony,

I'm going to guess that because you have come forward with your diagnosis, people who have been "thinking about" getting checked themselves will go ahead and make an appointment for that "dreaded" colonoscopy...which, I learned from recent experience, is not nearly as awful as they may have heard. (The worst part is the "effect" of drinking that stuff at home, the night before.) Anyway, the lives of people you will never know and never hear about will be saved because of you. Hang in there, and know you and your family in the prayers of some very determined and persistent folks.

Dear Tony, Prayer and music lift the soul and make it sing."And HE will raise you up on eagle's wings, bear you on the breath of dawn, make you to shine like the sun, and hold you in the palm of HIS hand" (refrain from "On Eagles Wings", by Michael Joncas based on Isiah 40:31) Indulge yourself and immerse yourself in music and prayer while you are recovering. Keep a journal of your thoughts. Plan a novel. You have a gift so continue to use it. My utmost respect and prayers for you. Ardy
